Boro Post Match Thread

Ah. I thought when you referred to the midfield playing 'less flat' I thought you were talking about a change in approach in the second half.

Good to see the Middlesbrough fans are as patient and measured as City fans. At least we have a smattering of positive threads - there's not a single one on theirs!

Their abject run is longer than ours. If you'd seen them 'play' you'd be suicidal, that's a side which looks relegation fodder.

Well their fall from grace was somewhat more spectacular than ours and that's saying something. If we'd done what they did then I really don't think there would be many backers of NP left.

Bit harsh considering we finished 6th! lol

We finished 6th playing our worst football of the season on the back of one of our worst ever runs. Boro experienced a slump in form even more prolonged than ours.

Watching the first half yesterday I defy anyone not to say that they'd just seen two very poor teams.

Got back at 9pm last night, too tired to come on here!

Okay my review on yesterday, that first half was dreadful no threat coming from either Wood or Vardy. The whole team looked slow, apart from St Ledger's error i felt our defending was good (hope whitbread is okay).

Second Half a much difference performance, we had a go at them and they didn't like it, from what i saw the Middlesbrough defence went to pieces every time we looked to attack. While there attackers didn't have time to create anything. I've got to say too good second half performances from both Vardy & Drinkwater best i've seen from both of them. De Laet had a solid ninety! Chris Wood looked awful again what has happened to him!

However like i said in another post, I don't think that was our best eleven. I seem to notice one or two players lacked confidence, we can't play the way we did first half, simply not good enough. Against a good side we would have been 0-3 down at half time.

The top three performers!

1: Richie De Laet (MOTM)

2: Jamie Vardy

3: Danny Drinkwater

Concern Performers!

Chris Wood

Again do still think we we're missing something!

By the way nice to see a bit of magic from Vardy!

Keep an eye out for Middlesbrough video, working on it now!

I don't get this " where are the Vardy haters now?" retort.

Yes granted there are absolute bone heads who just hate Vardy because they are cretinous (I had one sat behind me at the game) but even though Vardy was a game changer yesterday, lets not all pretend he is the new Messi.

First half he was one of the worst players on the pitch ( along with St Ledger who looked Sunday league) and he only improved when we started clicking second half.

There are going to be many times this season where Leicester don't play well as a team and Vardy will disappear in games. Lets just try and keep as balanced as possible (NP style) and not build the lad up or down too much.

In a massively contradictory style though I'm going to go against my morals and build Wood down because he's been consistently shite now for a while

Not sure if this has been mentioned but did anyone see Liam Moore's long throw into the box? Didn't know he had that in his locker! he cleared the 18 yard and nearly missed all the players! Not sure if it was wind assisted or what but looked like a potential lethal weapon..

Enoch Showumni is world class too!

Good start. First half was very worrying but then that's all it was - one half. Second half was obviously much improved and I'm delighted that Vardy got off to a scoring start. Long may it continue.

And apologies if it's been mentioned but how is Whitbread? On yesterday's performance I'd be tempted start Moore anyway, but we can't afford too many defensive injuries if we're gonna be playing three CBs at a time. One more injury and we'll be relying on full backs to fill the gap, or reverting to 4-4-2.

Do find myself agreeing with FleckneyMike. I'm very happy with how we came back but lets be under no illusions - Middlesbrough were awful and I wouldn't be surprised if they're fighting to stay up this year rather than go up.

We'll only get better in this system.

You seriously have to be a W U M, I have unfortunately read your last few posts.

I don't know who you think you are, putting people down for there opinions, this is a forum, a place were people come to express there ideas and opinions.

Another one who clearly can't debate, just throw insults.

You don't debate.  You have made it abundantly clear that you have no faith in the manager and the team as is.  No debate.  You also in the game thread made the most ridiculous assertions that we are no hope of winning the game with the team selected and the manager should go.  This result makes it very clear that your uninformed opinion is just that.

No Debate.

I clocked a similar length throw from down near our end up the touchline. Impressive distance.

As I've said, one good half one shaky half. Three points in the bag though and I'd take that all season.

However I don't think we'd get away with such an inept first half against most sides - the better sides. Early days.

As for Pearson I think he's boring as hell and overly cautious, which is often reflected in dour, uninspired displays from his team. But that might be what we need this season.

last season we struggled away from home when we played our creative players, knocky, marshall etc.

I don't mind being boring away from home, in fact we should aim to make every away game boring and dull but try to nick a goal, like cardiff did so many times last season.

But we weren't boring first half, we were ****ing shit.
