Drinkwater Cupping Ears at Fans After Goal

He couldn't have missed it. He is a dreadful player, he doesn't know what to do with it when he gets it. He starts to turn around and passes back, never makes a run and never tries to play the ball on the FLOOR! Like many of our players don't seem to do. He can make a run but stops and never passes forward or takes anyone on. Gives it to Wes everytime. I don't rate him at all, his Middlesborough goal was good in fairness but on the ball he is awful. No sense of urgency, just takes a jog up the pitch. We need to counter from these corners.

Done it twice now, the worst part of it both his goals have been away from home and our away support is excellent and always get behind the players we do have some nobheads at home though who get on certain players backs.

Edit that quote... 20,000 of the 22k average are fvcking knobheads who are clueless to the game and think they could do a better job than the professionals...

Not surprised with some of the w4nkers that support this club, most of them are on this forum haha....

from what I see on a saturday, on the moan in, on the social networking sites, then on this.. 3/4 of the fans practically pray for a bad result or poor performance just to get thir keyboard out!

Drinkwater deserves alot more than he gets here thats for sure, Id give most of our fans the finger!

He's involved in everything we do....

Must be at a different game.

I honestly have no idea why anyone cares.

the world keep spinning yes, just a bit out of order after fans have hard earned dosh to go to London and Middlesborough to support the team, maybe would like to see a bit more gratitude because I guarantee Danny Wasn't getting away support anywhere as near as good as ours when he was playing for teams like Barnsley and Huddersfield. Maybe its un-realistic in modern football but I like to see that the players care about the fans for instance I loved it when Peltier refused to shake Paddy Kenneys hand at QPR away a few seasons ago because paddy abused the leicester fans at the final whistle.

I can gaurantee two things:-

1 His ear cupping wasnt aimed in any way to fans that support him and the rest of the team

2 Not every fan in the away end yesterday, have never slagged him off.

Its irrelevent how much he gets paid before anyone mentions it, otherwise Gary Speed would still be with us. He doesnt like how some have slagged him off, called him shit etc and thats his release. Its not a big deal unless you're someone who can give it out but not take it back.

Why are we all taking this so personally. If you aren't abusing him he isn't aiming it at you, so don't take it to heart. If you are abusing him just piss off and support Cov.

When I see posts like this I almost sympathise with him! he just needs to realise that views like this on the forums and phone ins are not representative of the majority of fans that go away to support the city and want to get behind the players.

I've been at every game this season so far and he has been below average. Credit he has scored goals, but I think he struggles to get the ball through and making runs.

I think you are a bit deluded if you think he was fantastic, did you clap them at the end too?

Because it's annoying and insult to the fans, especially the ones that go away. We've got great away support, not everyone slags him off!

I'm entitled to an opinion whether you agree or not, no need to get personal. I personally think he lacks urgency when on the ball and doesn't push enough. Like I said, it's my opinion. I don't go screaming at him, I have stated why some people might gob off when he is playing.

SPOT ON!!!

Only downside is our away support is excellent. At home I'd run around flicking the V's at most of the ground

Oh please, it's his job. Of course people are going to have disagreements. I heard plenty of people criticising him, and I didn't hear one person on the coach say he was good or in the ground.

Its an insult to the fans that slag him off. It shouldnt annoy you if you dont. It should make you say to those that do, 'You see? The players hear what you say and take it to heart'

Drinkwater is not who your annoyance should be aimed at.

I'm also not saying that fans are not entitled to their opinion. Only that if you want to slag off and abuse a player fine. But if he bangs one in and wants to shove it down your throat, dont fvcking whine about it.

I completely agree, I only think he hasn't been as good as I think he could be. In fairness the team as whole aren't playing well. I don't agree with what he does when he gets hold of the ball on a break. That's what I was mainly pointing out.

It's just a bit petulant to me. I like him, when he plays well so do we. Even though like you say it's aimed at the boo boys, it's still not something I like to see.

If he's gonna do it when he scored, why's he not

Doing it when missing the target from 10 yards (birmingham) out, or missing a 1 on 1? (Yesterday)

Agreed.

As I said in the post-match thread, if that's his attitude to our supporters then he can do one. It would appear that he's obviously quite a sensitive soul because he really hasn't had that much stick.

Mate you called him a dreadful player then have gone back on yourself, do you admit your first post was a bit harsh then? if you think drinkwater is a dreadful player then you obviously don't remember some of the shite we have had in centre midfield since O'Neil.

Just to clarify, are we even sure he's doing that to give stick to the fans or not just doing it to say "make some noise"?

waving your arms in a "come on" gesture would be better then cupping your ears if that was the case
