Sam Bailey wins x factor

I don't understand why people are still persisting with this "shes not a Leicester fan" bollocks. Do you have learning difficulties? She played for us, she has had a ST for years. She expressed her love multiple times on tv for Leicester City and she invited the players etc along to watch. I didn't hear her once mention any other club. Do us all a favour and stop being jealous and talking shit!

That was embarassing.

Fair enough applauding her but like someone else said, the loudest our fans were tonight was singing that she's "one of our own". She's lived in Leicester 14 years, has a South London accent and I've not heard any stories of her ever having been to games. This is not a Serge Pizzorno/Tom Meighan/Liam Moore situation and some people have clearly  chugged the X Factor vote-winning ploy.

He's not 'one of our own' though.

'Would be embarassing if we sung it to him.'

He's from Newton Abbot, Devon.

According to Wiki anyway, that good old reliable source and of course on the embarassing note i'm joking.

The Woman who sits behind me was going mental shouting at the top of her voice SHE IS FROM LONDON, SHE IS FROM LONDON YOU MORONS. Ok she might be from london but i'm not from leicester but have lived here for 15 years had a season ticket for 6 and i would class myself from Leicester now. If I was on TV and some one asked me where i was from i would say Leicester! I thought she was really good, not really a fan of the X Factor but difference with Sam is compared to some of the others she can actually sing!

Hagrid by any chance?

If this is the worst thing anyone has to worry about then you're not doing bad. Embarrassment? Like anyone gives a flying fvck.

Just got back from the Sam Bailey Concert, most noise our fans made was at half time...

This is the only thing that I find a bit strange - and quite true, Banks.

Technically, she clearly has a very strong voice, though I didn't find her songs original, moving or affecting, just mildly diverting.

How come such loud, universal crowd acclaim is forthcoming for the half-time entertainer, but not for the team, though...?

What happens if a Leicester fan wins Big Brother? Will we parade them around the stadium at half time too?

We have ended up with an Apprentice failure as the clubs main commentator so winning Big Brother would probably get you a night with Jamie Vardy (or Nugent/Moore if it was a bird)

The Birch needs shooting mind if players are warming up at half time and he was interrupting them for a fcuking photo.

I don't mind X Factor and I think Sam Bailey's alright too - good voice, but whether she'll make it as a pop star is another question for another thread - but to be honest, I'd prefer it if we didn't have stuff like this in general at half time. I'm just sick to death of 'the match day experience' in general, where the club feels the need to shove a load of gimmicky shit in our face from the moment we set approach the stadium.

And it's not just our club, it's clubs up and down the country. Blaring out shit music before kick off, filling half time with appearances from local celebrities or kids relays, all punctuated by the Bruce Forsythe-esque antics of characters like Birch. I honestly think I was born in the wrong decade. Take me back to the time when people went to the football to watch the football, rather than see Sam Bailey perform at half time. When people gathered in the stadium before the match and the anticipation and excitement was enough to get the atmosphere going, rather than a ****ing Black Eyed Peas song blaring out over a shite PA system. When people spent half time talking to their family, friends and fellow fans about the match, rather than watching the 'entertainment'.

Basically, if this is 'the matchday experience' now, can we have the old one back please?

You often phrase my exact thoughts better than I do. +1

Can't knock Sam as a singer though.

Leicester City are full of fickle and idiot fans. So What if she is from London? So you have to be born in Leicester to be a fan or support us? Not the fact she lives here, her husband is from here and her kids were born here, that not a good enough reason for her to support us?

End of the day every chance she got she spoke high of us and her love for the club. There's plenty of people born here that support other teams, majority being the Top team's for obvious reasons.

Sergio Pizzorno from Kasabian wasn't born in Leicester but i don't here anyone ever complain about that? Same with Alan 'Mr Leicester City' Birchenall he was born in East London, i don't particularly like him, i find his half time antics cringe worthy but the end of the day he supports LCFC.

We need all the fans we can get at the end of the day, not like we have the biggest following. Im proud to be Leicester born and bread and like to see anyone from Leicester (born or living) do well.

Quarter final of a cup not a fvcking poof convention. Almost as embarrassing as the shite we had to listen to vs Madrid.

What the hell is 'fickle' about it?

The idiot part i suppose is more appropriate just 'Fickle' in general.

The Fan's moaning about the defense not being good enough after just losing to a team that beat Bayern away and put 6 past Arsenal.

The same fans that wanted Pearson out when we got hammered 5-1 at Forest few seasons back even tho we were sitting about 3rd or 4th in the league. The same fans that ring the Radio Leicester phone in week in week out, after a win we are world beaters, lose a couple and the same people ringing in, saying we are not good enough, get Pearson out etc.

That's what i meant

Shows how the demographic of our support has changed since the start of the premier league and all seater stadia.

If she had come onto the pitch to sing in the 80's at Filbo they would have sang . Get your dirty sweaty knickers off. To her not she's one of our own !

Fickle is just a word at least half the forum don't understand so they use it when they can't think of a relevant insult.

You're so capricious ;)

She deserves a medal... anyone who can sound decent through our dreadful PA system must be a decent singer lol

Totally agree Babs, she proved she's got a great voice, certainly no Jamie Affro! Some folk beggar belief.

That is the impression I get as well!, I've seen it used on Twitter a lot to describe fellow fans and you can see by the usage of it some people don't actually understand what the word means!
