dynamark Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Be interested as to where her ticket came from.Good effort tbf but its another singer of classics not new entertainer. Be nice if she brings Beyoncé with her!
z-layrex Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 She even said she'd rather we win the league than she won the show. It's amazing how bitter and jealous some of our fans are. Why can't we be celebrate a Leicester fan's success regardless of whether you like X Factor (I don't particularly). Superiority complex, I imagine. Too cool for it. Because it's too easy. I love this community but my god do some of you get wound up easily.
Poznan34 Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 I bet some idiot will actually start this chant "for a laugh". Probably in the Kop.
Deucalion Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Don't like Cowell or the X-Factor or what has happened to British music since Stock, Aitkin and Waterman. My missus watches the X-Factor so I watch it too. Chuffed Sam Bailey won it and got the LCFC badge in as much as she could. Will give her a warm and genuine round of applause tomorrow night. Will download AD-DC to try to stop the X-Factor winner getting to number one. Handling ambivalence is a sign of maturity, as opposed to immature black-white thinking about issues.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 I'm sick of hearing about her to be honest, I haven't even heard her sing one song but this obsession Youngy and Stringer have for her is unhealthy. I'm just glad that we're going to see the end of it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 December 2013 Posted 16 December 2013 Calm yourself down kid, was a bit tongue in cheek, couldn't give two ****s how people react to her Tuesday as long as they don't boo her, if they do they will prove what little people they are, and the national press will lap it up, and will probably will be seen as tinpot. This.... Is the forum full of children? Why on earth would anyone want to boo Sam Bailey? Why?
Guest shearfox Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Did people really suggest booing her because she happen to be good enough to win one of the biggest talent shows... sounds like they are jealous... I say well done to her and wish her the best, nothing tinpot about having some half time entertainment which involves a winner of a talent show.

THIS Christ its about time there was something at half time that wasnt kids doing a relay.
indierich06 Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I don't mind X Factor and I think Sam Bailey's alright too - good voice, but whether she'll make it as a pop star is another question for another thread - but to be honest, I'd prefer it if we didn't have stuff like this in general at half time. I'm just sick to death of 'the match day experience' in general, where the club feels the need to shove a load of gimmicky shit in our face from the moment we set approach the stadium. And it's not just our club, it's clubs up and down the country. Blaring out shit music before kick off, filling half time with appearances from local celebrities or kids relays, all punctuated by the Bruce Forsythe-esque antics of characters like Birch. I honestly think I was born in the wrong decade. Take me back to the time when people went to the football to watch the football, rather than see Sam Bailey perform at half time. When people gathered in the stadium before the match and the anticipation and excitement was enough to get the atmosphere going, rather than a ****ing Black Eyed Peas song blaring out over a shite PA system. When people spent half time talking to their family, friends and fellow fans about the match, rather than watching the 'entertainment'. Basically, if this is 'the matchday experience' now, can we have the old one back please?
Karljohn Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I hate the programme but won't boo the girl, she's possibly the new Jane McDonald but come next month we won't be talking about her. . We have a lot of celebrities but not too many stars these days. If you love her go on the fecking x factor tour!
lgfualol Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Just heard the 'sam bailey one of our own' thing lo l
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 I dont give a shit what anyone says, she was awesome. Star in the making!
Banks Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Just got back from the Sam Bailey Concert, most noise our fans made was at half time...
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Just heard the 'sam bailey one of our own' thing lo l Cringe. She's not even from leicester That was embarassing. Fair enough applauding her but like someone else said, the loudest our fans were tonight was singing that she's "one of our own". She's lived in Leicester 14 years, has a South London accent and I've not heard any stories of her ever having been to games. This is not a Serge Pizzorno/Tom Meighan/Liam Moore situation and some people have clearly chugged the X Factor vote-winning ploy.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Sounded pretty good to me as that kind of music goes. Not my cup of tea but happy to have bit of chant
Bert Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Not bothered what anyone thinks, the girl can sing.
Soar Fox Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 It turned into a circus at half time when she came on. There were the lads knocking it about keeping warm and you've got the birch shouting "come on Conrad, come on Jeff have a photo quickly" You could have forgotten that it was the quarter final of a cup.

Think some people are a tad sexist. If it was a bloke bet you wouldn't be like this
Stadt Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 That was embarrassing, Man City had original songs and lots of them, our fans made the most noise for a winner of a singing competition that supports a different club at half time.
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 December 2013 Posted 17 December 2013 Kolarov's free kick and Bailey's rendition of 'Skyscraper' were the highlights of the evening.
