Dan Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Do you have evidence to the contrary? Come on Babs, it's obvious. I fail to believe for one second that this is the first year that there's been a number of non-families in the family stand. They've only acted on it once there's people trying to improve the atmosphere. I find it very odd that they've taken N block out the article but like I say, I'll believe that they leave N block alone when it actually happens - and if they do leave N block alone then that's unfair on P1, P2 & P3. If it wasn't for such shoddy organisation from the off, this wouldn't be happening.
ealingfox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Zero threat of violence? The majority of violence happens outside of grounds. To me Leicester City just seem completely hell-bent on sterilising any potential atmosphere that may occur. Plenty of other clubs manage it without trouble. I'd love to know what was so shocking about that. Not shocking, just conspiracy-theorist territory. I'm sure diluting the atmosphere is not the Club's foremost thought with any ticketing/seating decrees. Admittedly, maximising revenue might well be, but it's been said 100 times, if you want to generate atmosphere you can do that anywhere in the ground. In any case, don't you think you are somewhat jumping the gun whilst N block is currently excluded from this 'auditing'?
Dan Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Using sarcasm to make a point is probably a bit out of your comfort zone, but my opinion is valid. I'll try and keep it simpler to understand for you - I would like football to be as inclusive of families as possible (including bringing down the cost). So I think this is a good thing To the extent it's exclusive towards non-families?

In any case, don't you think you are somewhat jumping the gun whilst N block is currently excluded from this 'auditing'? If this kind of thing was a one-off then I'd agree with you, but it isn't. They've tried to quash N block before, they instruct stewards to target specific fans who were standing up when they're on their own, they promote this 'family friendly' image but really, that is just an attempt at asserting control - remember when we first got the screens? How convenient was it that one of them was lowered to the exact height that the Fosse Boys would be able to see the game if they sat, but not if they stood. If it was isolated incidents I'd see where you're coming from, but it's one thing after another, I fail to believe it's a co-incidence. Like I say, I'll believe N Block is excluded when it happens. As I've said elsewhere I wouldn't be at all surprised if they've said that just to shut people up for the time being, still go ahead with it anyway but when it actually happens, it won't receive as much publicity amongst our support. The whole thing is laughable. An audit ffs
Dan Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I'm sorry but N1 is included in this audit Says who?
Monk Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I had no idea we had so many members of mensa on here.
Babylon Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I'm sorry but N1 is included in this audit Well the article clearly states all areas but that.

If it wasn't for such shoddy organisation from the off, this wouldn't be happening. It's not obvious at all. This year is probably the fullest I have seen the family stand, and with that in mind. It is quite feasible they want to make room for more young fans (without putting them in N block) by asking people to vacate that area and go to other parts of the ground NOT designated as FAMILY stand. Why is it unfair on P1 P2 P3 exactly? It's perfectly fair to FAMILIES sitting in there, to surround them with other families. Atmosphere can still be generated in there, and in other parts of the ground should people with. Have they taken N out, or did it just stand Family stand previously?
LCFC FOX Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I emailed them yesterday, they replied today saying N is included. Which is strange as they edited the article and changed it so N wasn't included. But as N isn't included anyone who gets grief has evidence
MrBojangly Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 To the extent it's exclusive towards non-families? If that was happening, no. But I genuinely don't see how it is. There seem to be plenty of empty seats when i go

So because you're a family you get special priority over your regular fan. Ridiculous idea. When you make one stand that much cheaper, do you really blame people for going in it? Bilo said it earlier, £22 in the family stand or £32 in K Block? It's not fair because families are still allowed in other areas. If they're going to promote exclusivity then at least work it both ways. I'm pretty sure they've taken N out of that. Cannot remember it saying just P1-P3.
Babylon Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Exclusivity. So because you're a family you get special priority over your regular fan. Ridiculous idea. What about those bloody disabled people, getting priority in the disabled areas over regular fans, ridiculous idea!!!!! The stand is called THE FAMILY STAND, what part of that do you not understand? An area that always has been targeted at families, and meant to be for families. The problem is, it's now being filled up by people it's clearly not aimed at. When you make one stand that much cheaper, do you really blame people for going in it? Bilo said it earlier, £22 in the family stand or £32 in K Block? Or £22 in the just the ticket areas, or the other areas in the ground cheaper than £32. Or N block that also costs £22. It's not fair because families are still allowed in other areas. If they're going to promote exclusivity then at least work it both ways. It's not fair because some families wish not to take up the cheap tickets and sit elsewhere... and that is actually a problem for you?

It's aimed at families - fair enough. But making it the cheapest part of the ground? Of course it's going to be filled with others. I'm not saying it's completely right, but that's the price the club pay for treating fans unequally. Just the ticket is fair enough but there are hardly any of them. If that's the serious argument that we do cheap tickets then I despair. The problem lies in their exclusivity and their constant blatant attempts to steralise the atmosphere.
1964FOX Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 we need to wait and see, if this is just to catch out people buying concession tickets when they shouldn't then I have no issue with it. As others have said it's the family stand and the conditions are made clear. It would also appear they have now not included N block so those standing and singing at the back should be safe as long as they have the correct ticket and fit the conditions for the block they are in. I'm all for atmosphere but to get anywhere you have to comply with what the club wants and usually in return the rules are then made a little more flexible.
MrBojangly Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Why might that be? A variety of reasons, but obviously cost of tickets is up there. I don't think lack of 'atmosphere' is the issue. In fact great swathes of the population are put off football matches because of this atmosphere. You may say you don't need them because match day is for true football fans - but presumably it's those football fans who are currently contributing to the lack of atmosphere so many describe. At what point do we accept that football is big business and needs to attract as many people as possible?

You aren't treated unequally, there are areas of the ground of equal price to the family stand. Just the ticket is fair enough but there are hardly any of them. If that's the serious argument that we do cheap tickets then I despair. Hardly any? I just looked on line at booking a ticket in there for Millwall and there are literally 1000's free from what I can see. All at £22 the price of a ticket in the family stand. The problem lies in their exclusivity and their constant blatant attempts to steralise the atmosphere. Since when has the family stand been a hotbed of atmosphere? How on earth does asking not families move elsewhere steralise the atmosphere? If someone wants to sing they can do so anywhere in the ground. Exclusivity. You are free to sit anywhere in the ground with a very good view for an equal price. That's really not very exclusive.
hackneyfox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Babylon, Dan What is 'just the ticket'? I've sat in the Kop since w the ground opened and have never looked at other options.
woody1983 Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 The club never said a word about this to me when I handed over the cash for my ST. Only now they have my money are they saying I shouldn't be there.
coolhandfox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Of course they want it filled with families; on average they spend more money on merchandise, hence the door through to the club shop in the family stand. The average single 20+year old is going to buy tickets, food and maybe the odd shirt, the average family is going to buy multiple kits each season, dvd’s, coats, pencil cases the whole lot. They take a hit on the tickets price as they know they will make back ten times over on the merchandise etc. They don’t want Mr & Mrs Average to be put off brings their kids as that is where the money is!
jammie82uk Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Babylon, Dan What is 'just the ticket'? I've sat in the Kop since w the ground opened and have never looked at other options. Just the ticket seats are the two corners connecting family stand and west stand and the opposite end linking the west stand and the south stand

At what point do we accept that football is big business and needs to attract as many people as possible? Don't you? I certainly think it's played a part. I've heard of plenty who no longer go due to the poor atmosphere at games and it isn't just as Leicester either. I didn't say that for a single second, don't put words in my mouth. I have never made any comment about families being 'non true fans' or any of that bollocks because that's equally exclusive as the club are being. Needs to attract as many people? So why are crowds going down every year? No it's really not. You aren't treated unequally, there are areas of the ground of equal price to the family stand. Hardly any? Disabled areas are not comparable to the Family Stand. Completely different kettle of fish. Couldn't possibly answer regarding 'Just the Ticket' but that surprises me a lot admittedly. The final point misses the entire point of this 'audit' yet again. Do you really think they've done this right now just by chance? Come off it. They've done it because a singing section is beginning to develop in there.
