All these articles are so presumptious too. Is there a sizeable majority of families who feel unsafe or don't enjoy it because N Block is growing, or is it a case of making an excuse to stop people?

I know I'm a stuck record but, seriously, there's nothing intelligent about dividing your singing sections. Respect to those that grew that little cluster but you always knew you were doing it in a section designated for families and children so I've very marginal sympathy, frankly. That doesn't mean I agree with having a families only section at games but if it means less of a clamp down on singing, standing and swearing in the rest of the ground then good compromise.

What happens if the whole ground sells out in future? Are they going to turn people away because they don't have an under 18 with them? I hope whoever from the club reads this passes on to the person who has decided this how much of a joke they are.

You know, considering it's called the family stand???? But if the whole stand is reserved for just families then surely you going to be reducing the operating capacity of the ground. Fair enough they want it to be a more sedate atmosphere but why should that mean removing all fans who haven't gone with a child?

Is there a sizeable majority of families who feel unsafe or don't enjoy it because N Block is growing, or is it a case of making an excuse to stop people? it's not unsafe but when I go to the stadium with my niece who is 10 I don't really want to sit with people who are swearing like they are sat in L1 constantly throughout the game - she finds it uncomfortable - as do I when I have to challenge them about it politely without expressing myself using the same language! It's section for families and kids - simples..... surely?

For a start (and many other people will have plenty of responses to your question), the club is bringing in a solution mid-season to a problem that they have created. Had they been more stringent with who they sold season tickets to and in which areas then things wouldn't have got to this point. They're making out like there's some big underground conspiracy and people sneakily getting round some water-tight system. They are not.

For one it will kill any atmosphere that we have started in that area of the ground, like I said previously at one stage we had the loudest fans in the country now look at us I've had my Season ticket in there for around 8 seasons now luckily enough I have a younger sister who goes so I won't be moving seats but to those adults who sit there with no kids this is totally unfair situation. MOVE THE FAMILY STAND. Simple. It should have been where the kop is when we first opened our stadium(let's not get onto that discussion though). Another thing. Cheaper tickets in the 'family stand' Some people might only be able to afford tickets in this section of the ground and might like the view from there?

I had a season ticket in N when the stadium first opened and I'm sure it wasn't classed as the family stand then. I presume that has changed now then?

I completely commend any effort to improve our atmosphere but this effort was never going to end well. It was just crying out for some busy mother/father to complain to the club about the bad language and aggressive behaviour. That has probably happened and the club are enforcing a rule that the family stand is for...families.
suffolk fox Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 Obviously they are bringing this in as they have discovered people are getting into the stadium by buying a child's ticket when they are obviously an adult. Hence the club are losing revenue. Under 22 as well, when persons are obviously over 22. It ain't rocket science hence the checks. If you do not like it as some have alluded too on here then don't go.
