If I was asked in N Block I would say that it specifically states online ONLY P Blocks are the issue. Are we over-presuming here that it's targeting N Block when they clearly make no mention of it!? Surely they would have said that this has been instigated by the presence of "undesirable groups" in this particular section if this was the case?

We have a family stand - the club would like that used by families, the families in it would like to be surrounded by families. Happy days - everyone's happy. Oh apart from single blokes that want to go into the family stand ... what is wrong with you???? Are you intimidated by K Block and daren't go in there???? Don't you want to be in the Kop singing to your hearts content??? Can you only sing if you are surrounded by 12 year olds??? Whats the issue??? Kids in the family stand will sing if they aren't intimidated by big blokes all around them ... and all you big blokes can go into the sections of the stadium where you can feel comfortable .... If you want a bit of old school match day experience go into K block ..... If you want a mix and a sing go into the Kop, if you like it a bit more civilised go into the west stand ..... If you want to bring your family go into the family stand.

It looks to me as though they go to great pains to write P1-P3 in bold writing to emphasise the blocks it affects. It'll be worth watching N Block on Saturday to see what happens, but they do seem to explicitly exclude the singing section.
1964FOX Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 All I was saying was that wasn't the sole reason the kop is where it is. Something to do with the sunshine played a big factor in it.... You ever noticed that the family stand has the sun on it more than anywhere else in the ground..... I agree with you, clearly there were several reasons and those involved discussed the issues at length before deciding taking into account all the factors.

If you want to bring your family go into the family stand. Apart from the bit I made italic, I do agree with you here. I never get why we have our 'singing sections' split anyway. I still believe we'll struggle to create a decent atmosphere at all, just because how the ground is.

whoareyaaa Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 yes of course the cops can't tell the club what to do but it was a strong recommendation put forward by them to have the away fans as close to the exit route away form the ground as possible for public order reasons. Yes to have the away fans as close to the exit as possible but not to put the family stand next to them as well, that is entirely down to the club and what a terrible choice. One of the main reasons I don't go to the KP is because of the atmosphere... When I go to a Football match I want to be able to stand, sing and watch my team play along with a load of others similar to me.

In the first application of the stadium the away fans were not going to be placed in the position that they are now. They were placed near the Kop and one of the reasons they had to redesign was due to police objections.Not really. You made out the sole reason the kop was at the other end of the ground was because of where the away fans would be situated. Which is wrong, because there was more to it than that.

This season for atmosphere has been brilliant due mainly to the fans standing and chanting to our left. Those sensitive souls worried about their kids hearing some swearing, should probably try the more genteel 'atmosphere' of the Rugby. The club is really shooting itself in the foot as far as I'm concerned

You clearly just wanted to make out I had no idea what I was talking about when in fact I do. The Family Stand and Kop were always specifically designed for where they currently are. Other areas and parts of the ground had to be changed multiple times.

Kitchandro Posted 6 November 2013 Posted 6 November 2013 The saddest thing about this is I was at the Fulham game, and you could clearly see the positive impact N block was having on the family stand. Almost the whole way along people of all ages were jumping up and down and enjoying themselves. Shame on then club for wanting to ruin that. I really don't know what to say about the people that run our club. They must really hate a certain percentage of our support, ironically the percentage who give them the most money. It's very bad times for football in this country. Although, it has to be said, some clubs are slowly improving - we're going backwards.
