Devonfox1884 Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Prefer Odubajo from Orient a young prospect won't cost a lot of money and will be good competition for Knockaert. Dont know much about him, care to enlighten me?!
Happy Fox Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Dont know much about him, care to enlighten me?! 20 year old right winger who has 5 goals and 7 assists so far this season. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/moses-odubajo/profil/spieler_163738.html
KFS Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 What about that lad who caused us problems from Yeovil? His name escapes me

Possibly worth considering if the deals right. You ever watched him live??
crisp packet Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Both mentioned above would add pace and competition !!
JonnyBoy Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie up front? Better than our front line is it not? Forests team is better than ours face it. are you high ?
LCFC FOX Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 The young lad with dreadlocks for Huddersfield, I like the look of him was pacey and skillfull
Devonfox1884 Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 The young lad with dreadlocks for Huddersfield, I like the look of him was pacey and skillfull Sean scannell?
AnotherShitSeason Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Sean scannell? I'm still convinced that's who Sven meant to sign when he bought Danns.
LCFC FOX Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Not Scannel but they do look alike, I think he's younger
foxfanazer Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 raheem sterling and john guidetti on loanForget Sterling. If we had him on a three month loan he'd knock up at least 15 of our women
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Not Scannel but they do look alike, I think he's younger Ah, do you mean the young boy holmes??
LCFC FOX Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Ah, do you mean the young boy holmes?? Yeah just googled him and that is him. Good player
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Yeah just googled him and that is him. Good player Has he played much for them this season??
LCFC FOX Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Has he played much for them this season?? Don't have a clue I'm only going on by what I seen against us and I thought he was really good and skillful for a young player. Gave are fullbacks a few problems
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Don't have a clue I'm only going on by what I seen against us and I thought he was really good and skillful for a young player. Gave are fullbacks a few problems Fair enough mate.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Competition for places is always healthy. But we don't want any player in who might unsettle what appears to be a very cohesive squad. January really is stick or twist. If we are still top, or near, we have the best chance of promotion in years! Do we stick with what we have or really try to make that final couple of quality signings that may be the icing on the cake. It's gonna be interesting!!
Chrysalis Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 I have seen teams blow it many times, they doing well in jan and then they DONT spend and fall off the pace. Last year it was us. In jan we were up there with hull and cardiff and watford, they all spent in jan, we didnt except for wood. Wood got injured, we plummeted down the table. In previous years, forest fell victim twice, that year they were 3rd (in out first pearson championship season) they didnt spend in jan and fell back. Under harte they also didnt spend. I can give more examples if I had to. In short I think pearson needs to be backed if he asks for the finances. Better to invest in a half season where we on the pace than save the finances for other seasons. Renew pearson's contract, morgans. dyer's, nugets. kasper's and any other players pearson deems key to team. Add a few million to player budget for jan spending, and we should go up. Derby, qpr, forest, reading I think will all spend in jan.
LCFC FOX Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Agreed. I know it's not as easy as it sounds but try and sell Danns, Gallagher, Whitbread and St Ledger or at least send them on loan till the end of the season with majority of there wages being payed by the club they go on loan too. Then that should free up 2 or 3 players that hopefully sends us up. Two wingers and a left back I'm thinking. While renewing Kasper, Wes, Nuge, Wasyl contracts
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Isn't Konch out-of-contract at the end of this season? Never seems to get mentioned amongst the regular names. What would people's opinions on keeping him on be if so? I think he's in the same boat as the others in that he'd have to take a big pay cut (probably the biggest of all the theoretical renewals) should we stay in this division - but if we went up, would people still like him around (for the right sum, obviously)? Seems back to his effortlessly steady best and that bit of nous and experience could be invaluable should (big should) we reach the Prem. Thoughts?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Michail Antonio? Nope. Decent prospect but no better than what we've got.
sylofox Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 Whoever we get in can't just be competition for places they really should be first choice. If they are only compertition in this league they won't be good enough should we go up. That to me would just be a waste of money. If nige is looking at players in jan they need to be good enough for the prem or at least better than we have now. So really we should be asking do we have the money to spend in jan or can we risk that sort of money if we don't make it. One thing is prety much for sure if we don't spend we must be close too or over our FFP limit.

Think it's more likely we'll see a loan or two just to bolster key positions - we've seen that we already have the personnel to achieve good things so it's just about stabilising that and providing cover for injuries/form. No use jeopardising our FFP credentials by spending on a player who can make the step up if we secure promotion but otherwise being a big hole in our budget if we stay down.
Chrysalis Posted 1 December 2013 Posted 1 December 2013 I am ok with loan's but I think pearson does need some kind of backing. Also competition for places can help as it keeps existing players on their toes. Only pearson knows what is needed, he may be happy with what hes got I dont know, but if he feels we need a signing to push on then he should get that signing, even if its just a loan deal. I would rather we put the resources into this season knowing we made a right go at it, even if it means we pay for it next season.
