LCFC FOX Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 How can you say he doesn't defend? What the fvck does he do then? Play with his balls?
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 This is totally about how we play and how we want to play. I think its fair to say that Moore is a stronger defender than RDL. People have short memories. RDL has been caught out on a number of occassions by being too far forward and the oppo have scored a goal down our right hand side. However, Moore is not as quick, he's not as good with the ball and he isn't as attack minded. The question is therefore, which type of defender do you want?
Captain... Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 he's playing for the u21s today Good news that. This is totally about how we play and how we want to play. Stadt Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I think he is underrated as a defender, positionally he is not the greatest but most opposition attacks come from Konch's side.
kingfox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 RDL is a better attacking right-back, but isn't stable defensively. If we get promoted, he would be a liability in the Prem. Moore is a good defender & can get forward well Wasilewski for me is a centre back nowadays, wasn't keen on his performance on Saturday, and last night reports say he wasn't great. Therefore I would play Liam Moore. A defence of... Moore - Wasilewski - Morgan - Konchesky With Miquel & De Laet on the bench. Easy!
foxfanazer Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 De laet will get straight back in the side imo. Good option to have and maybe Nige will use the 3-5-2 a bit more. Not a massive fan of it but it suits RDL
Danno Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Are people seriously suggesting De Laet to be played on the wing? !!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Are people seriously suggesting De Laet to be played on the wing? !!! No, not on the wing. As a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2. Why not? He's got all the attributes. If Knocky is out or off form, I see no problem with Moore playing behind RDL down the right side. Personally, I'd prefer we sign another quick and tricky winger. All depends if Pearson is gonna sign one.
foxfanazer Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Are people seriously suggesting De Laet to be played on the wing? !!!I didn't?
Kitchandro Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 People saying that he can't defend is a myth. I'll have to bring the stats out again - apparently they have no place on Foxestalk though and are completely irrelevant when putting forward an argument. IIRC we only conceded 3 (THREE) goals down the right hand side all of last season with RDL there. Man to man, I can't remember him getting beat often. Positioning perhaps suspect but certainly solid enough. You weren't watching close enough then. He's a poor defender.
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 He's tweeted that he played today for 60 mins and is ready for action.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Could we play him on the right wing? Challenge Knocky? Just say no....drugs are bad for you young man!
Danno Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 No, not on the wing. As a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2. Why not? He's got all the attributes. All depends if Pearson is gonna sign one. How the hell has he got all the attributes to play on the wing? He just happens to be a very fast right back. That's like playing Kyle Walker on the wing or something equally as stupid. He has no ability to get past his man in tight spaces, he is better running with the ball from deep into space rather than Knockaert who can easily cut inside or do some sort of trick.
davieG Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Leicester City’s U21s eased past Doncaster Rovers in the first game of their Central League Cup campaign thanks to a commanding performance against some experienced opponents. A powerful first-half finish from City striker Harry Panayiotou got City off to a fine start and two clinical second-half goals from City midfielders Ryan Watson and Michael Cain sealed a well-deserved victory at Holmes Park. City’s Belgian defender Ritchie De Laet also made his return from injury in the match, impressing during a 60-minute outing before being replaced by Jamie Anton. The Foxes started with real energy and had a good chance to take the lead after just four minutes when Cain’s dangerous delivery from a corner bounced inside the six-yard box. City captain Alie Sesay managed to get a head to the loose ball but was unable to direct his header past Doncaster ‘keeper Jonathan Maxted, who gathered comfortably. Leicester’s hard work and early pressing was rewarded after just 16 minutes when City ‘keeper Adam Smith’s long clearance caused all sorts of problems in the Doncaster defence. Rovers defender Harry Middleton was unable to clear and City striker Panayiotou showed great strength to muscle past the Doncaster centre-back and fire a powerful right-footed strike into the top left-hand corner. City continued to press after the goal and goal-scorer Panayiotou had a chance to double Leicester’s lead on 22 minutes, but the City striker saw his 18-yard snap-shot comfortably saved by ‘keeper Maxted. The Foxes continued to dominate the first-half and had another chance through midfielder Cain, after a powerful run through the centre of midfield. Cain burst through the Doncaster midfield and made room for a shot from just outside of the 18-yard box, but saw his effort well gathered by Maxted. Doncaster had a fine chance to equalise just before the half-time interval, when left-back Liam Wakefield found room for a cross and delivered to Rovers striker Harry Forrester just inside the six-yard box. Whipped in at pace, Forrester failed to get a good enough contact on the delivery and headed over from close range, sending Leicester into the half-time interval with a well-deserved 1-0 lead. Leicester started the second half brightly and took a 2-0 lead after 54 minutes, with midfield pairing Cain and Watson combining nicely. Cain broke through on the Doncaster right and his powerful cross was deflected into the path of the waiting Watson, who slotted home a cool finish into the bottom right hand corner from inside the 18-yard box. Despite City’s dominance, Doncaster had a chance to pull a goal back after 80 minutes, but were denied by the woodwork after Billy Whitehouse’s cross-shot struck the far post and was gratefully gathered by City ‘keeper Smith. Leicester ensured the victory on 84 minutes and it was Cain who struck to cap an impressive all-round performance and give the Foxes a well-deserved 3-0 lead. Cain found himself in space on the right-hand side of the 18-yard box and after his initial shot was blocked, the ball fell kindly and he made no mistake in driving in a powerful right-footed half-volley. Next up for Steve Beaglehole’s side is a trip to Arsenal and he will be hoping that his side can continue their fine form that has seen them go unbeaten in their last six games. City:A. cuddly ken Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Time to bring SSL back alongside Morgan, that was a pretty solid CB partnership when they last played a run of games.
Dickov22 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 He can't even defend though. Absolute rubbish He had a very good season last season. To suggest he can't defend is rubbish. Great going forward too
dmayne7 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Time to bring SSL back alongside Morgan, that was a pretty solid CB partnership when they last played a run of games. Your 'wumming' is getting even worse. At least put some effort in!
shade Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 We miss RDL in the attackling sense. Very good player IMO. I love that you've invented a new word for attacking defenders "attackling". genius.
pazzerfox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I love that you've invented a new word for attacking defenders "attackling". genius. Hahaha...well spotted that man. Sums RDL up perfectly!
NewburyFox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 You weren't watching close enough then. He's a poor defender. That's a huge exaggeration. He's better going forward than defensively, but he's definitely not a poor defender.
