JonesLCFC Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 shorten it to dicko and we're talking. dig ash wee are you messing. none of those letters are even in his name. close enough...You asked how it was pronounced, not spelt.
65RosesFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 close enough...You asked how it was pronounced, not spelt. Right that didn't help. I thought it was, as other mentioned 'Dee-gash-wee' However not got a clue what he calls himself. But it involved coughing up a bit of phlegm from the back of your throat. Youngy's got no chance.
artursteppe Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Pronounced - Dikcagoi. Gonna be difficult for people who pronounce 'would have', as 'would of', 'should have' as 'should of'.
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Pronounced - Dikcagoi. Gonna be difficult for people who pronounce 'would have', as 'would of', 'should have' as 'should of'. I pronounce them as 'would've' and 'should've', where does that leave me?
artursteppe Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 I pronounce them as 'would've' and 'should've', where does that leave me? You score very well, the use of the apostrophe is to replace letters ( in this case h and a ) to speed the spoken word, but you do obviously retain the correct meaning of the words. Would of and should of mean absolutely diddly squit. It's ( notice my use of the apostrophe ) a sort of baby language, you sort of know what the child is trying to say even though the words have no meaning.
Babylon Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Are we going to sign any quality this summer? I bet you were one of those moaning about signing non league players and players from the lower leagues in France. I pronounce them as 'would've' and 'should've', where does that leave me? With a lazy tongue and a few milliseconds spare.

If one more person at my work says pacific instead of specific, they will get a flying headbutt.
Houdini Logic Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Pronounced - Dikcagoi. Gonna be difficult for people who pronounce 'would have', as 'would of', 'should have' as 'should of'. To be fair they're pronouncing it correctly - they're just saying the wrong thing!

Babylon Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 People writing your instead of you're is my biggest pet peeve. Anyways back to Kag Dik.... I can take one off mistakes, when typing quickly I do them myself and rarely read what I'm typing. Constantly making the same mistake on the other hand... Arrrrrrrrrrgh. Talking of people at work, someone asked me what 10% of 100 is today (this person runs the company, we're doomed). Anyway... anyone actually seen this bloke play?
lgfualol Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 People writing your instead of you're is my biggest pet peeve. Anyways back to Kag Dik.... Your not the only one. I hate it too.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Anyway... anyone actually seen this bloke play? He played that day they beat us 2-1 at home the season they went up for sure. Him and Jedinak absolutely bossed Drinkwater and King that day. They were well worth a two or three goal win. Him, Bolasie and Zaha were all impressive in that game. Not sure about the reverse fixture that season. So I've only seen him play the once but he did look good then. He should be decent for free.
MrSpaM Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 No thanks. Regards, Alan Young. Too much flicky dicky?

The truly disturbing thing is that because language evolves, common usage will see it become acceptable. It has already worked its way into (admittedly, low-level) journalism - Stringer says it all the time.
65RosesFox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Your not the only one. I hate it too. Gave you a rep point but would of loved it if you used the wrong two to.

Babylon Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 soooooooooooooo........he's running the company but you only work for him? Well, when I say running the company I perhaps should have said in a management position. The company runs itself thankfully, even despite his best efforts to sabotage it.
