This Josh chap is an absolute mongol - drop knocks after a good performance because a goal or two given away to man city. Oh, and because "it wasn't a penalty" knocks has done nothing of late... What. A. Prat.

lol Do you expect much else?

The other lad was bang on I think, Owen was it from a bit earlier? Right winger to compete with Knocky.

A wins a win but were struggling from open play and are so so wasteful in front of goal.

Need a few in in January I feel.

Still a miserable cvnt at christmas then?

Sheepshaggers a challenge! don't make me f**king laugh  :crylaugh:

I was hoping our fans could notice the difference between man city and where we are now at least.

Oh aye, both sides tbh - dyer or knocks gets injured and who have we got to cover?

A solid win against a decent Reading side (on paper anyway). Defence looked very good, they never looked overly threatened. Shame we couldn't add a second as we had some good counter-attacking opportunities second half but nice to see out a 1-0 win without hanging-on.

Another bogey-side beaten and a Boxing Day win at home. This is turning out to be a good festive period for us so far.

Have they not? That's what bbc said earlier. 7 then?

EDIT: Ah, late equaliser for Hudds, christmas bonus!

Still, would be stupid to write them off.

Struggling in what way? We bossed them all over the pitch, passed it around well, got into some great positions time and time again.

Poor decision making, and poor play when making the final ball was the only area we struggled.

I've seen a win's a win mentioned several times, but we were well worth the victory without a shadow of doubt. Only time they looked like doing anything was from set pieces.

I thought we were in complete control for other than about 10 minutes.

Drinkwater was great all game. Konchesky was the only one not coming out of that well for me when going forward, lost the ball so often.

Someone just posted the stats, 61% possession, 22 shots.

Think this guy does have a very good point that I haven't seen mentioned before. Having Knocky and Dyer on each flank really much stretch opposition defensively. They know both are dangerous in their own way so someone always has to be paying close attention to them. If you add Vardy and his running in there then obviously they can't be taking an eye off him here. Really makes for a dangerous 3 players that demand attention from the opposition.

The thing about Derby is and im not taking anything from their run of 7 wins, but they were against Doncaster, Bournemouth, Sheff Wed, Charlton, 8 man Blackpool, Middlesbrough etc.   Thats a good run but id be more impressed if a team took 7 from 9 against Burnley, QPR and Reading.....

Yeah, I see your point. I find this league to be all over the place though so 7 wins in a row against anyone is gold dust. You could well be right though, we'll have to see how they do against the stronger teams from now on.

Got back, had a nosebleed.

Anyway, with all that happened I don't really care how we won that game, we won that's all that matters, we should of scored a few more, Dyer should of scored, as should Vardy and Knockaert. I thought we bossed first half, we played some very comfortable and attractive football, Matty James and Danny Drinkwater were outstanding, won balls, passed well, looked forward just what you want to see. Can't recall James losing the ball in the first half.

Second half, a few nervy moments, the midfield drifted out the game for a spell, but the defence just did enough then, Morgan and Moore looked decent again. One thing though, on today's evidence, we are crying out for another right-winger, thought Knockaert was very inconsistent today, and had a poor second half, where he gave away too many balls.

Good win though, and top of the league for the time being :D

Just looking at the table and we're now 11 points clear of 7th, regardless of the Forest result later. That is quite impressive for this stage of the season.

Another great win, feel we could and probably should have scored 1 or 2 more but hey, we won, we played quite well, who cares.

Now time to sit down and enjoy a Forest win bore draw...

And 5th and 6th. Not bad at all. Interesting Play-Off teams as it stands.

I really enjoyed the game today. With the lights going on and off, and chants of 'who's that twat with the squirrel on his head' it all added to it.

On the field, it was a typical Nigel Pearson, ground-out result (akin to his first season in the Championship) albeit against a Reading side who were, I thought, really poor on the day.

Matt James and Drinky do what they do best.... full of energy, getting their toe in and nicking the ball and generally limiting Reading to creating very few chances.

On the downside, they still remain both poor at getting forward and really shooting accurately... we could have easily nicked the second goal in the first half to put the game to bed, if it wasn't for missed opportunities.

Vardy was his usual self, being totally committed to running everything down, whilst sometimes making poor decisions when in on goal

And Wes/Moore look so assured at present... they have a partnership going on, based upon mutual understanding, that looks similar to the Walsh/Elliott one.

Kasper....we saw the best of him today. He just looked safe IMO.

Today, maybe for the first time, I saw the look of a team with real title aspirations. We aren't really weak in any part of the pitch. Yes, with more quality, we could have romped home, but I guess that's why we are a Championship side. We are good, solid, but not spectacular. This is also because I'm starting to really wonder who our main rivals are? Reading looked abject today and I'm sure that Adkins kept them in longer because he was reading them the riot act. QPR are good, but not that good..and Burnley lost today I believe?

Finally, I do feel Nigel has made the correct decision in dropping King (something I've suggested for ages). However nice a player Andy King is, our central area DOES look more solid with James and Drinkwater.. they seem to read each other's game really well and are, quite simply, physically stronger. The only thing I think King is better at, than either of them, is nipping in to get a goal.

The Jan transfer window really is, IMO, stick or twist time. This team is not far off. With a couple of quality additions (especially someone who can get the side goals from the midfield) this just could be our season. It might be anyway of course, but a couple or three million quid, spent really wisely in Jan, could see us over the line.

Keep up the good work boys.
