Thought we drew......As penalties don't count!

Need to keep the momentum going over this busy period and hopefully with results and luck we find ourselves clear on top.

We're Reading poor because of how we played - It just can't be coincidence that teams that play us at the KP are always poor - perhaps it's down to us being good and better than them?

Don't see what Waghorn did wrong, a couple of poor touches when he came on, but other than that, he won the ball a coulpe of times, ran with it, there was some decent link up play, created a chance for Vardy, one wild shot. I'm not going to judge him on one poor shot when the rest of the team were woeful in front of goal today. He didn't make a case for starting, but was good to see him back, and that we have options.

Half a dozen miss placed passes, kept losing control, dreadful touch, looked painfully slow, kept barging into players when not needed. I'm certainly no Waghorn basher, have stuck up for him plenty. But for me, he looked completely out of his depth for the time he was on. He's capable of putting in much better than that.

We were very good.. retained the ball well. I was surprised how poor reading were. They clearly came with s game plan to win cheap free kicks for drenthe to whip in a cross with to try and expose our lack of height

I thought we did well again and look brilliant going forward.. only downfall for me is our inability to score clear cut chances.. bar the penalty. . But a win is a win :)

Teams tend to not look as good as the top team!! (Felt good to say).

Indeed.

It grates a bit when people focus on how poor the opposition is. Reading were among the faves pre-season for promotion, I'd be amazed if they weren't in the top six come May. They're no mugs.

It's actually because we're a good side at the moment, on form we can beat anybody in this division as proved by last week's result.

Glad we got the win today, although rode our luck a little in the 2nd half. We just seem to panic a little in the box....dyer and knocky keep shooting from impossible angles!

Brightened up my day after being soaked when some cvnt drove through a puddle right next to me!!

Really enjoyed the game and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere for large parts of it (it's usually sh**e against Reading). Some genuinely funny songs from our lot today too. Great stuff.

Also, WE FINALLY BEAT THEM! Get in. Makes going into work next time so much better. :D

They were poor because we closed them down from the front gave them very little space and we were quite good in the air. Pavel Pob looked poor, and Royston went down very easily. Was quite nervous when I say them in the line up but we barely gave them a sniff all game.

Nigel Adkins says they were the superior side second half!! And deserved a point

Ha ha deluded much.

I've never liked him, falls into the same bracket as Pardew and Davies as those who probably love the smell of their own shit.

Deary me. Superior side, turn it in lad!

They created **** all bar a couple of headed chances on the break.

Adkins is a ****. But clever. Deflects the attention away from the fact that they were nothing but average and taking his best player off when they're chasing the game.

Really pleased with the first half. Concentrated really well and played some nice stuff. Thought knockaert is played well and some of his skill at times is ridiculous. Vardy worked tirelessly again, moore and Morgan did very well keeping a difficult strike partnership at bay. That said, I wouldn't have played the second half like Pearson did. To say we invited pressure on ourselves is an understatement, 2 banks of 4 very deep and very close together was a very dangerous way to play the game and is probably say that reading deserved a goal. That said a wins a win! On to Bolton, let's stay top of the league!

I came out the ground saying to my lad, how good I thought reading were, their players had good technique and looked dangerous on the break.

I will give criticism when they don't perform, we did ride our luck a couple of times, but overall a very good team performance, with James and drinkwater the stand out players for me, a job well done.

Let's move on to the Bolton game, if we can perform to that level, I fear no team.

I can't be positive for a whole post lol, only negative was the not taking of chances again, but the one goal was enough

1 disallowed goal.

1 save from a crossed free kick.

superior you're having a laugh.

And a header off the line, RDL wasn't it?

But other than that they created nothing, and even at the end they didn't really put us under pressure.

All up the opposite end so couldnt really see how close the header was. But for me thats why you have men on the line.

as for the end of the game with more clinical finishing we could have had a hat full let us open them up on the counter. Vardy. Dyer. Knocky all had chances.

I thought bar a 15 minute spell in the 2nd half, we were pretty dominant today.

We played some lovely football, had loads of the ball and defended well against a very good striker (Pobrebnyak).

We do need to convert our chances, we must have had 20 shots? Not many were on target, and few tested their keeper. That's my only negative about our play today.

If people think Waghorn did well I must have still been drunk because I didn't see a single good thing he did. He was the same Waghorn he's always been- cannot control the ball, doesn't jump for headers and misplaces passes. Schlupp was bad at QPR, but I'd take him every day over Waghorn, whose days must surely be numbered here. He's not good enough.

Big plus for me is our back 4- solid. Drinkwater was also fantastic (again). Knockaert is also fantastic- Reading couldn't get the ball from him at times. I'm not really bothered if he loses the ball, he's bound to sometimes. Difference between this season and last is that he rarely (if ever) does so in dangerous areas for us this season. He's a real talent.

Well done Nigel- proving your doubters wrong again! Top on Boxing Day. Good stuff

Completely agree with that, GTF was also poor but Waghorn stunk the place out. It's a gulf in class between him and the other striking options.

You weren't watching the same game as me buddy. As much as Leicester were good, Reading were bad. I cant recollect them making a clear cut chance. I agree they'll be up there at the end but I expected them to be much better.

Reading struck me as a side with talented individuals but no real plan about them. It's amazing really - it's like the two clubs have completely swapped in the space of two years.
