The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Leicester v Derby is going to be absolutely massive. I know its on tele, I know the prices are absolutely ridiculou BUT we NEED to be the 12th man for this. So come on City fans, dig deep into those pockets and let's roar them on in another 6 pointer
GorlestonFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Silly game for a platinum fixture in all honesty. I know where ill be watching it. In the warmth with a beer!
Hollism Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I hate to be the cynic but don't we all remember what happened when this was done for Forest? And Man City?
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I hate to be the cynic but don't we all remember what happened when this was done for Forest? And Man City? And how does more fans in the stadium make it more likely that you'll lose a game exactly? Two coinciding events does not mean one caused the other you know.

nlukka Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Just heard Steve Mclaren on BBC saying Derby took 6000 to Barnsley?! No doubt they'll bring their standard 500 to us (although for a Friday night on Sky and at those prices probably can't blame them).

I want it to be full, but if it's a platinum fixture we've got no chance. Can you really blame people for deciding to watch it on tele instead of paying £30-40 to sit in the cold?

Can you really blame people for deciding to watch it on tele instead of paying £30-40 to sit in the cold? Given the circumstances of this game then yes i can blame them.Supporting a club at times requires us to pull out all the stops to get down to the match and hopefully see us over the line in a huge huge game
Kitchandro Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Given the circumstances of this game then yes i can blame them. Not everyone gives a shit about the atmosphere. A lot of people just want to watch the match. And they can, at home, in the warm, for much cheaper. It's up to the club to bring the fans in. They are the only individuals who can make a difference to the big numbers.
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I'd say it doesn't matter how "big" the game is, we simply don't have 30,000 fans willing to pay such crazy prices to watch a game they could watch on tv.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 December 2013 Author Posted 29 December 2013 It's clear the club wont shift their stance on this game its upto the fans to voluntarily pull their fingers out and get down to the match. The atmosphere at a match can have a bearing on the result I believe
K1FOX Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Bearing in mind last two games we've had 26,27000 down and hardly a 1000 away fans, them attendances could have been 28 or 29000 easily I'd say it'll roughly be the same against derby. More expensive but bigger game and more away fans. Regardless, it should be a cracker. Unless it snows.
Stadt Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 No more than 23,000 for this, which is a shame.
JonnyBoy Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Think I'll watch this on the box with my Derby supporting house mate.. Spent a lot watching leics recently and going to Stoke too. they will be well up for this and go for it. Going for a 1-1 draw both goals in second half They have taken large numbers away this season... I predict they will bring just shy of 3k

Why shouldn't they tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Author Posted 30 December 2013 So because the club won't play ball the fans should bend instead? Why should they? Why shouldn't they tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine? Because if they genuinely cared about what happens between now and then youd not think twice. I'm not trying to turn this into a whos a better fan thread by the way. I realise the financial situations too for the majority of fans. But you're likely to spend the difference in price on a cheap ticket/platinum ticket in the pub watching the game anyway.

So anyone that cares should be there, but you understand everyone's financial situation, not contradicting yourself at all there.

Pricing is way off in English football, but for a Friday night and when it's on TV a Platinum fixture is ridiculous!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Author Posted 30 December 2013 So anyone that cares should be there, but you understand everyone's financial situation, not contradicting yourself at all there. Not I'm not at all. I realise its bloody hard and its bloody expensive. Cut back on the booze tomorrow night, find yourself extra the extra bit of money, whatever.

Or watch it on the tv and don't pay 30 quid plus to watch a fvcking game, at what point does enough become enough with ticket prices?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Author Posted 30 December 2013 Or watch it on the tv and don't pay 30 quid plus to watch a fvcking game, at what point does enough become enough with ticket prices?I Know its too much. There are occasions though where any moral protest should be forgotten for one day. If you think 30 is bad now it couod be our cheapest price next season. And its quite hypocritical moaning about prices etc to then say youll sit and watch it on tele thus funding the culprits!

Who gives a fuj if it's on sky or costs £10 more than fans want it too, it's a huge game and this is what we as football fans always look forward too, I'll be there no matter what, nothing beats getting down on match day in a big game love sky tv don't get me wrong but they r killing local footy when people can't be bothered to get the ground In Their own city
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Author Posted 30 December 2013 Furthermore if we did go up there'll be loads of games on sky. You just know itll be, 'Arsenal v Leicester 4pm on a Sunday? **** paying 50 quid a ticket I'll watch it at home' We need to be careful what we wish for (promotion) if we arent prepared to pay over the odds. Back to the derby game, we could be looking back at this game and see it as a real cornerstone of our season.
