Bert Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 If you have the same number of tickets to swap, the view isn't much different etc then that's fair enough. Although obviously they are well within their rights to refuse. Sadly, the conversations I've seen about people in wrong seats never actually go like that. And usually escalate to name calling and threats of violence in about 30 seconds. Of course they are. Which is why if people can't compromise I'd just move. Simple as that. The annoying part is the fact that some people don't even give what you propose the time of day because they are so set upon sitting in "their" seat. Personally speaking I've never got into name calling nor would I ever do so if they won't agree to what I've asked, much more hassle than it's worth.
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Stand up protest all game at stoke?!!! lol tbf it's genuinely coz we do have a few older fans that still go away from home, I just stand my ground and stand, unless I'm right at front-.-
MattyFromLE Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I think people are making such a massive deal with this. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as "just sit/stand where your ticket is". Most people will take the person behind into consideration, I certainly do. This is why unreserved seating / a standing area at all grounds is needed. There is so much choice in todays football, it's ludicrous that the choice to stand hasn't been introduced yet.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I have to say that anybody who thinks ignorance and aggression is the exclusive preserve of standing fans has obviously never stood anywhere near Hagrid...... NB: Don't know her real name, but dear God she gets angry.
Trumpet Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Surely unreserved seating would (at some grounds anyway) compromise allocation? A club wouldn't be able to sell 4000 tickets to 4000 people in a section with 4000 seats. Wouldn't like to be person number 4000 looking for a seat.

This would be a nightmare and is why unreserved seating can't always happen. I imagine it would be chaos with Leicester - my flatmate is a regular at Man U away games and he says he just follows his mates when he gets in there, does often result in certain rows being overcrowded and whatnot but that seems to be the culture there.
Jace Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Am I the only 1 who just copies what everyone around them does?

Think there must be a certain % of seats that have to remain unsold. The only time I ever remember it being a struggle for seats is Stockport away in League One.
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Makes me laugh. People that stand up at away games seem to think it is their god divine right to do so and that they are somehow more important and a better fan. Utter nonsense. If people want to sit in their seat, then it shouldnt even be up for discussion. They definitely shouldn't be bullied and intimidated into moving just because a few chavs don't get their own way. And no, I'm not saying all standers are chavs, just the ones who think namecalling and threats of violence is the correct way of doing things. If someone says no, accept it and stfu moaning.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Tits, I've just checked my Stoke ticket and we're row 5. Anyone wanna swap? Stand up protest all game at stoke?!!! lol tbf it's genuinely coz we do have a few older fans that still go away from home, I just stand my ground and stand, unless I'm right at front-.- I've noticed this. I've been to a few Chelsea away games and you very rarely see anyone over 50. It's great that these supporters still have the love to go and watch Leicester away from home, but I can't disagree about the unreserved argument. Makes sense to me.
SmelliottLcfc Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 If there's nobody in front of you and sitting down won't impede your view of the game, I think the most courteous thing to do is to respect the wishes of the person behind and not be so sanctimonious. Nobody expects you to sit down if it means you won't be able to see the game, but it's not unreasonable to ask somebody in front of you to sit down if it makes no material difference to their ability to watch the match. Everyone has their own reasons for not wanting to stand. Some people are physically unable to do so through disability, others just don't feel comfortable standing. You might just feel ill or lethargic or so hung over that standing makes you want to chunder. Whatever the case, it's not for anybody to question the motives of the person behind him who would prefer to sit down. I would except maybe first couple of rows sitting but no more than 3. If you hung over or feeling lethargic dont go to the game simple as.

Guest Bilo Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Best thing to do is don't sell them to the over 30's then, I do hope you are joking In all fairness; if you can't stand for an hour and a half at the age of 31, I'd suggest you have more pressing worries than an away game.
FoxTrott Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I was pissed off at Millwall - I like standing generally. The gent in front didn't seem to understand that everyone else was sitting. He turned to me and said "Oh, I like standing." So I had to awkwardly stand with my brother on the seat next to mine, so the poor people behind my seat who were sitting could see.
SmelliottLcfc Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Best thing to do is don't sell them to the over 30's then, I do hope you are joking Why would i be joking, sitting at away matches is not good. Are we aspiring to be big clubs like leeds and sheffield wednesday in our devision who all stand at away games, or are we just a poxy club like bolton
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Actually, it's nothing alike whatsoever. Yes it is. Both stop others from watching the game how they want to. Both forms of behaviour are equally unhelpful and inconsiderate.

Why didn't you move to 1 of the 1500 empty seats in the stand?
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 I'm a stander actually, I'm just not an ignorant selfish one, who will inconvenience others just to get what I want. Some would disagree there Babs, not me just saying Happy new year
Babylon Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 In all fairness; if you can't stand for an hour and a half at the age of 31, I'd suggest you have more pressing worries than an away game. Perhaps they just don't want to bloody stand, there doesn't need to be a medical reason!!!! Those wishing to stand are the ones causing the problem, not those sitting. There are no ifs and buts about that I'm afraid.

Are we aspiring to be big clubs like leeds and sheffield wednesday in our devision who all stand at away games, or are we just a poxy club like bolton Standing makes you a BIG club OMG, and they say the RL caller was a troll. I rest my case.
Babylon Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Some would disagree there Babs, not me just saying Happy new year Ha ha well we are talking about standing.
Babylon Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Why didn't you move to 1 of the 1500 empty seats in the stand? Again, the point is being missed. Why should others have to move because someone decides they want to stand? It should be the person causing the problem that is inconvenienced, and not others.
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Some of you really do make me cringe. Its your way or no way. Why should away games just be standing? Can you not sing when your sitting down? If I pay £30 for a seat, i'm entitled to sit in it without some disabled telling me otherwise. As for the poster who made the comment about not selling tickets to people who want to sit, what a moron you are.
Babylon Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Yes it is. Both stop others from watching the game how they want to. Both forms of behaviour are equally unhelpful and inconsiderate. No, they really aren't. The person sitting down is doing nothing wrong, the person standing is. It's a very simple concept that people don't seem to grasp. What is stopping standers from not watching the game the way they want, are the current laws of the game and ground regulations. Not people sitting down in line with those regulations.
AndWhat? Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Again, the point is being missed. Why should others have to move because someone decides they want to stand? It should be the person causing the problem that is inconvenienced, and not others. He said he likes to stand........ Unless a sitter is amongst 100 standers and wants them all to sit down I would not expect a sitter to move to accommodate a stander.
