Larry_LCFC Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 To be fair Vardy is one of the keener members of the squad for a big night out. Clearly not ahead of Sean St Ledger, but close. A song about a party sounds pretty accurate. Yeah but I just find it odd that we are singing a chant about Vardy that is recognised as being one that is sung at players that have a history of taking cocaine.
LCFC FOX Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 To be fair Vardy used to be a right chav. Just have to look at his past Facebook statuses and photos to notice

Guest claude_leic Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I knew today would be a flat atmosphere so i didn't bother going, its always like that when we take over 4 thousand. One of the main problems is the songs, the sooner we stop singing the "we love you" song the better. It just has tinpot written all over it and provides easy ammunition for fans to rip (eg forest this year). Compare today's stale atmosphere with the link below of the league cup semi final v Wimbledon. Obviosly our support would be better for a game of such magnitude, however if this happened today, noway would our support be so raucus and passionate. Listen on 50 seconds to everone singing the "leicester score " song, i never hear that now. We need to bring back older songs and create some proper ones. We are always going to get ****** going to games, but if we improve the atmpshere we might attract younger more vociferous fans and get some of the older passionate lot to come back.

How can you compare today's 'stale' atmosphere with anything if you weren't there?
C-man Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 May as well bin 'by far the greatest team', 'Molly Malone', 'wings of an eagle', 'Iwan is a Welshman' if we are singing factual songs only.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 i had a great time, though we did try to start the 'right side, left side' chant (from the right) but didnt get the response from the left side which was a shame, i like that one, dont hear any other fans doing that so would be nice to keep a unique-ish one going. Thank ****. May it suffer a swift death that's about three years overdue.
Petchy Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 As if some people are actually being so snotty over the Vardy chant. It was a laugh, catchy, a bit of fun and added to today's atmosphere whether you want to admit it or not!
Quorndon_Fox Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 The Leicester support was amazing yesterday, didn't hear Stoke or their 'famous' support once yesterday. As for the Jamie Vardy chant it kept the toddler squad next to me happy despite the fact I don't think they knew what Charlie was and weren't old enough to buy vodka but hey ho they did look wonderful in the stone island and Burberry shirts their parents got them for xmas.
1964FOX Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I thought the atmosphere was quality after we went 2-0 down. Nice to see us singing even though we were losing. I especially thought the ' Leicester City, our boys in blue sounded excellent at times. I'm glad it seems to have caught on in numbers now. There were also several decent attempts at some of the old songs including WYS as well. We were on the back row of the left hand side so can't say how it sounded form the rest of the stand.
foxfanazer Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Most of the fans on the Stoke forum think we were quiet. One even said bordering on silent
1964FOX Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Didn't hear a single chant from Stoke yesterday which saddens me actually as it shows even they have succumbed to modern happy clappy football. Where's Delilah gone?
Lobsterboyuk Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Recognised those lads on the bus, they were close to where we stood. Good on 'em for being in good voice for most of the game. Around me the atmosphere was decent, always difficult to tell how the whole end sounds but I enjoyed it...
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 The older generation need to stop living in the past and moaning about the atmosphere every week. Ofcourse it's not going to be the same as the Filbo days, because generally football has changed. Get off your high horse and instead of whinging actually try and contribute to making a bit of noise/
Dillonlcfc Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I must say I find it baffling reading the Stoke forum (http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/224669/leicester-fans?page=3). They all reckon that Leicester fans made "zero noise" apart from two minutes after our goal. Do they all sit there with their fingers in their ears? The second half was buzzing. Maybe they are trying to divert the attention from the fact they were silent for the whole match.
Thracian Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 The older generation need to stop living in the past and moaning about the atmosphere every week. Ofcourse it's not going to be the same as the Filbo days, because generally football has changed. Get off your high horse and instead of whinging actually try and contribute to making a bit of noise/ You can't help change the atmosphere even if you want to. Anyone doing anything but sitting in silence in the West Stand is frowned upon and even in the Kop they'll be some mother complaining about a mild expletive or two corrupting the ears of her supposedly angelic little Johnnie. Then you've got strategically-played music competing with the fans, stewards ready to pounce on anyone looking vaguelly animated, a great gap between rival fans designed to sanitise any potential rivalry and so on. Many "older" fans have already dismounted from their "high horses" and have taken to grazing quietly at home with the radio because it's just as exciting, a lot cheaper and much less hassle...hence our crowds that rarely nudge much over 22,000 nowadays, even with us top of the table. Mind you, by the time Soulsby's finished fouling every available on-street parking place, high horses and bicyles might be the favoured form of transport all over again!
Naylor118 Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 I've just been reading through all these comments and there really are some mardy ***** on here. The Jamie Vardy song often stopped it being quiet in our end and if that's what it takes to atleast attempt to improve the atmosphere then i'm going to sing it at the top of my voice. I don't care whether we're singing twinkle twinkle little star or we love you, it's better than standing in the away end with your fingers up your arse waiting to come on here to say "Oh no, people were singing a song with naughty words in it" If you did as much whining on here as you did on in the ground, we'd be the loudest around.
cambridgefox Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 The daft twvts keep going on about one club City.Yes true regarding football but they seem to forget its also a rugby city with 20k following them. They seem like a bunch of grumpy old men,if anyone comes out with a positive towards us ,they all moan and give a dozen negatives. Apparently we didn't play our best yesterday and because of that we are shit and the championship is shit.Ask a Fulham or Man city fan.City fans were full of praise about our fans and football, and I know which I would prefer a compliment from.I find it amusing.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 What saddens me reading through this thread is the sactimonious attitude of our own fans. We sing louder than you, couldn't hear your side, this song was sh*t etc etc, heard it previously with East Stand being much better than Kop etc. We're top of the league, playing some good football and grinding out results which should improve atmosphere alone! Bitching and criticising each other is hardly going to help, how about showing some passion and spontinaety instead?
Kitchandro Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 No, we were too busy singing better songs. No you weren't, that was in a quiet period where it was greeted with silence. I don't get why people are so snobbish about that chant. What's wrong with it? Is it just not old enough?
Kitchandro Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 If im honest I would prefer it wasn't sung in the first place seeing as it has no relevance to Jamie Vardy whatsoever and makes us look abit stupid, but hey ho. Dunno what your problem is. Who cares if it has no relevance? I enjoyed it, catchy chant.
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 No, we were too busy singing better songs. 'better songs' what are you 5?!
Larry_LCFC Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Dunno what your problem is. Who cares if it has no relevance? I enjoyed it, catchy chant. Its just another bog standard copied chant from Leeds, that nobody can be arsed to personalise to Jamie Vardy. Its not exactly hard to change the words to something which we can then call our own. Frustrates me that most clubs have songs unique to them, and yet one of our size needs to nick the crap ones from everyone else. We will never have a decent, intimidating atmosphere when half the time we are singing the same stuff as the away fans.
AndWhat? Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Leeds stole it from Chelsea who sung it about one of their youth team players actually.....
Larry_LCFC Posted 5 January 2014 Posted 5 January 2014 Leeds stole it from Chelsea who sung it about one of their youth team players actually..... Oh so its even more unoriginal then. Brilliant. Its just like "we love you" - every club we sing it against rips the shit out of us because of it. Literally every tinpot league 1/2 club sing it and now its our main chant - the championship leaders. Makes us look so small time when we cant create our own unique chants. When Your Smiling would be brilliant if people stopped trying to race through it and actually sang it with some passion.
