AndWhat? Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 The policeman who arrested me and a mate for chucking two on the local nightclub dance floor told us they're dangerous to asthmatics. You lit smoke bombs in a nightclub?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 You lit smoke bombs in a nightclub? stupid eh?
LCFC FOX Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 What I don't understand is the stewards took three lads into the holding cells at the full time whistle, did all three get bans or just the one lad who let it off? all three got a ban. Just because it was three of them that was together.
AndWhat? Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 all three got a ban. Just because it was three of them that was together. That's just pathetic. If I got banned because my mate let a smoke bomb off I'd be fuming.

elangLCFC Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 The young kids I sit near, especially one, were clearly distressed by it and a few were almost choking on the fumes. Very annoyed that all our hard work in N1 is getting ruined by a couple of twats thinking they're hard.
LCFC FOX Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 That's just pathetic. If I got banned because my mate let a smoke bomb off I'd be fuming. Three sixteen year olds lads. Been in there all season I too I think. But they got passed the smoke bomb and one of them let it off. I believe the lad kicked it down the stairs a few rows and the steward who stands at the top had no idea who it was from. He then tried to chuck it to the guy from half way up the stand at the bottom of the turnstile that missed and went into another row of people. Which was then chucked towards the front.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Threads like these make me chuckle. Everyone agrees that although flares can make for a better atmosphere under the correct circumstances, Let's be clear about this NO WE DONT and can you please explain how the setting off at random of smoke bombs improved the atmosphere please.
El Sieffsi Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 We need more flares imo, Kop should be full of them, first the confetti and flags, then the flares, then WE LOVE YOU WE LOVE YOU AND THAT IS WHY WE FOLLOW WE FOLLOW Excellent idea..let's all throw a load of paper about, then some incendiary devices..what could possibly go wrong? Personally..I go to watch football and to make some noise, not to look at a load of flares and smoke..5th of November/1st of January for that kind of thing.
Bert Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I think the people thinking this was alright don't have kids or any common sense. Embarrassing that some are trying to make out it's not really a problem. The main point is, anywhere else in the ground there wouldn't have been any uproar but it was because it was in the family stand. That's what people need to realise.

I'm not saying it was a good thing but if the away fans did it about 5 rows to the left of the kid who set if off yesterday then it would be okay and I bet this wouldn't happen. A kid set it off. No one at the top got hurt. They was alright in keeping it with them but it was the steward who chucked it towards the front. It's happened they got a ban now let's move on
LCFC FOX Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 What an embarrassment all round. Firstly I think it's a shame that the good work of those in N1 has been undone by one mindless act of a few young lads. Whilst it's important to recognise that it was a very stupid thing to do, let's also try not to criminalise these fans - everyone was young once and everybody makes mistakes. As for the idiots on page one suggesting that these fans are the ones wanting to stand, have a word with yourselves. Hundreds of thousands stand every week and have no desire to let off a flare or throw a smokie, but don't let that get in the way of your good old prejudices. I think it's incredibly sad that those in the Family Stand willing to sponge off the atmosphere created by those in N Block are so quick to turn on them as a collective when one individual makes an error if judgment. Suddenly now they are all chavs. Fed up of this holier than thou attitude. My personal view on pyro is that they can only look good when used en masse, which will never happen in the UK. The one off smokie looks gash, particularly if it's orange. Having said that, it isn't going to go away so I genuinely think there's a market for 'safe' pyro - based on same technology as e-cigs... totally agree, making is all in N block sound like young chavs looking for a fight.

They don't know where their seats are or where our family stand is do they? You don't expect this kind of thing happening in the home end of the family stand. I'm guessing you sit in N-Block.
shade Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 when I read the title, for a second I thought it was about some idiots fashion choice!

Wether it's because the away fans are there or some people will go and cause trouble to be next to the away fans. Which happened yesterday. There is one easy solution the club could do which I will not say...

elangLCFC Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Im in L1 and I've never heard the chant ditch down your the family stand!!! I've definitely heard it in N1 but we always come back with *score* to the family stand when we're winning so it's not that bad
MPH Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Apparently a steward threw it Presumably it was first lit and then thrown to the ground for a steward to then get gold of it?
MPH Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Safest thing to do with flares is to let them burn out, surely? They only burn for around 60 seconds. Depends if you consider it a risk burning out where it is... I guess with it being smoke they wanted it away from the kids...
EnglishOxide Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Presumably it was first lit and then thrown to the ground for a steward to then get gold of it? It was lit and then kicked down the stairs by people and stewards and was put out at the bottom. Nothing was thrown.

MPH Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I'm guessing you didn't see it then. It landed yards away from my 3 year old son. The coughing and spluttering that ensued wasn't pleasant. For above post

It's been there since it opened and is there for exactly the same reason Man Utd put their disabled supporters in front of the away fans, to minimise disorder. The 'bad idea' is giving it the 'big un' when surrounded by small children and families. If you want to scream obscenities at complete strangers from a safe distance and behind meshing and men in fluorescent jackets then that's your luck out.
