Danno Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Embarrassing. You must be an absolute waste of space if you get excited about a bit of smoke being thrown around. what sort of moron throws them at a stand full of kids?
FilbostreetPen1 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Why are we being made out to be criminals? We've seen smoke bombs right next to the family stand all season and nobody says anything? Who cares? It adds to the atmosphere. Cant believe some of you are saying it could of burnt someone etc! Listen to yourselves. Dont sit next to the away fans if you cant handle a bit of tension and aggro.
Kitchandro Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 That is why flares/smoke bombs are fvcking stupid. They chucked it and it hit a steward on the back of the head. And what pleasure did they get out of it? A feeling of anti-establishment? Looking like a Turkish Ultra? It's pointless, and they've made everyone in N block look a right bunch of cvnts. They're fvcking shit, end of. If you want some visuals blue balloons, flags and scarves do a much better job.

Dan Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I'm all for smoke at away games, family stand abit silly.. Lad got Arrested and 3 match ban. P.s get your purpose out at Birmingham!! Three games?! He's lucky there IMO.
Babylon Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 And people wonder why the club are looking to clamp down on that area. You can kiss goodbye to standing etc next season there.

Last I checked it was a criminal offence to throw smoke bombs around a football stadium so surely that answers your question

Why don't you grow up and act like an adult. You want to act like Millwall fans? Go and support them you spastic. They don't add to the atmosphere at all, they're just shit. We've moved on from the days of 'aggro'; most people have realised you can have an atmosphere without chucking things at people. You give all the fans that want to stand and sing a bad name. It's no wonder we're treated like criminals if we have morons acting like that.

How does a smokescreen effect the atmosphere in any way? And if you really want to throw a smoke bomb, keep it with you. Very few people, especially kids, want their view obstructed by smoke. It's selfish and it isn't hard. I don't know if the smoke affected your sight, but it's the FAMILY STAND. If you 'tension and aggro' go sit in L1. It's a stand full of kids, behave yourself.
KFS Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I know nothing about pyrotechnics, I've seen it written across multiple forums that people need to be careful before someone gets injured. Without sounding completely ignorant, what possible damage can they do? Genuine question, I'm neutral on the matter.
Jakemoore Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I like smoke bombs myself but away from home only!

DennisNedry Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kitch, nothing wrong with smoke bombs really but NOT next to young children. I have asthma and a smoke bomb went off about 5 rows behind me at Palace last season and I was absolutely fine

Did I miss something or does your name "FilbostreetPen1" make you an away fan?
Kitchandro Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kitch, nothing wrong with smoke bombs really but NOT next to young children. I have asthma and a smoke bomb went off about 5 rows behind me at Palace last season and I was absolutely fine I don't know whether they are dangerous for people with asthma. What I do know is they are dangerous when someone chucks them, which happens every single time they are set off. My opinion is they don't improve the atmosphere, they certainly don't make anyone more vocal, I don't think they look that great either (especially orange ones FFS).
Walker Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Let's not go over the top, there's nothing wrong with smoke bombs or flares if they're used responsibly and in the right environment. Complete idiocy to throw one in a family stand though. Feel sorry for the guys trying to create an atmosphere up there after this.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 I'm pretty liberal in terms of my views on the use of pyrotechnics, a well done pyro show can look stunning and even an isolated flare just tells us you that there is carnage going on in the end, but setting them off in a Family Stand is moronic behaviour of the highest order. N1 is now well and truly done. They'll clamp down hard till the end of the season and, if we're promoted, there'll be a ready supply of families wanting to watch Premier League football who will abide by the rules. Union FS probably provide the best hope for atmosphere besides L1 now.

Pr1ck, listen to yourself more like, I've seen loads of trouble over the last 30 years, but chucking a smoke bomb into your own fans full of kids and mums is up there with the worst.
ty fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 What is so hard for people to grasp? It's a family stand where kids are. I'm taking my 4yr old daughter against Ipswich and it should be without fear of her getting burnt or having something thrown at her.

Smoke bombs are really dangerous they just stink and can trouble people with breathing conditions. Proper flares though are dangerous, I was stood next to a bunch of ex marines with a military grade flare at Kasabian at Reading festival the other year, I couldn't believe the heat coming off it, and it stays hot ages after it burns out.

Stadt Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Obviously it's daft to throw a smoke bomb in the family stand but when used 'properly' (I use that term loosely) they can add to the atmosphere and it does look good but only if you use the right colour. http://youtu.be/zlo4F83G1II

If you had of thrown it and it landed any closer to my lad than it did today I'd have stuck it up your arse. You need to realise that N Block is in the 'family stand' where kids sit. It's not cool or hard to front up at the away fans in front of kids. Get over yourself.
