Soup Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Equally vulnerable I said. Besides answer my question - why shouldn't I take my 3 year old Leicester supporting Filbert Fox loving lad??Don't wanna argue with fellow city fans m8,sorry if I touched a nerve. No I've not got kids, but if I did I'd wait a few more years cause he ain't gonna remember jack. But your not paying for him so why not I guess.
elangLCFC Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 But how would they know it's the family stand? Because L1 sing "that is our family stand". Which was the original point. Sorry Bert but you're wrong on this one. Many times this season away fans have sung sit down in the family stand to us in N1 before L1 chant anything about the family stand

Fair play. Each to their own. My main gripe continues to be how anyone on here can justify a "pyro" being set off in the family stand surrounded by kids. Tres idiotes.

I never justified it buddy, comlete idiots.Just cause there next to the away fans, real hard men.
C-man Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Isn't N Block technically not part of the Family Stand? Not that it particularly matters but I'm just interested to know.
Soar Fox Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 How do away fans know that is the family stand though? If I went to an away game and both sides to were the away fans were situated are standing at the back I wouldn't think it was a family stand.
Bert Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Isn't N Block technically not part of the Family Stand? Not that it particularly matters but I'm just interested to know. Yep. The club will be targeting N-Block next season big time.
LCFC FOX Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I generally thought L block sang "that is our family stand" because the away fans sing "sit down you're the family stand" why else would L block sing it straight after the away fans sing it? Bizzare
Bert Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I generally thought L block sang "that is our family stand" because the away fans sing "sit down you're the family stand" why else would L block sing it straight after the away fans sing it? BizzareHow would the away fans know that's the family stand next to them? L1 sees the away fans chanting at N block, L1 chants "that is our family stand" In a way of saying "that's a bunch of kids you're chanting at".
Strokes Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Why? If the club are happy to sell tickets to me you can't argue? This is completely irrelevant and nothing to do with this issue. If my lad was 3, 7 or 12 I'd still be as pi55ed off as I am now.Look i am not having a go as each child is different and as a parent you have to judge it on merit i guess but i know my three year old son is not ready for the football. I would be concerned for his safety, he is a lunatic.
Vlad the Fox Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Look i am not having a go as each child is different and as a parent you have to judge it on merit i guess but i know my three year old son is not ready for the football. I would be concerned for his safety, he is a lunatic. I took my eldest when he was five. Then due to my second child pestering to come with me every time I took the eldest he first went when he was four. Same with my youngest, she was three just before Christmas, and I've since took her a couple of times. She absolutely loves it joins in the chants and comes out singing leicester songs. If she was a pain or wasn't interested she wouldn't come down.
Simi Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 My theory has always been, if you're going to take a smoke bomb / flare don't bottle it and chuck it as soon as you've let it off and endanger other people it may hit. You know the risk you take to yourself by letting it off, don't involve others 'cos you don't have the bollocks to see it through. That said, letting one off in the Family Stand is pathetic, I can't believe someone generally thought that was a good idea. All the progress people are trying to make by doing things properly and you do something like that? Clown.
cityfanlee23 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I miss all the good posters. I'm here bert
Sparky Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I sit with OriginalRobboFox and also take my 3 year old lad. Both kids love the singing/chanting and the atmosphere in general. If he didn't I wouldn't bother taking him. I don't take him to the night games and when he found out I'd been down against Derby he weren't happy !!! I'm not totally against the Pyro but it's not on in the family stand. There were genuinely kids in distress, my lad was fairly excited cause I think he though fireman Sam was gonna turn up !
Ashley Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 How would the away fans know that's the family stand next to them? L1 sees the away fans chanting at N block, L1 chants "that is our family stand" In a way of saying "that's a bunch of kids you're chanting at". Maybe because of the amount of young lads in N at the minute. It's been sung to us numerous times this season.
LCFC FOX Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Maybe because of the amount of young lads in N at the minute. It's been sung to us numerous times this season. You will not change his mind when it's set Ashley. Even if it is true
Lionheart Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I have sat in P1 right next to N block for every home game this season and have heard the away fans on more than one occassion sing 'sit down in your family stand'.
Paulmot Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I suppose so,but why take a 3 year old.I suppose I'll get stick for saying that, but what's the point.I don't mean that in a bad way. I took my lad and nieces and nephews from about the ages of 3. why should we have to worry about T****rs who believe that they are right and the law is an ass. I would like to see them have to make an apology at half time and denounce the use of any pyros before they are allowed back in the stands.
stillwater Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Doesn't take a rocket scientist in the away end to notice that the stand is full of young kids and as such must be the Family Stand!!! All these Danny Dyers getting real nasty with their flares and smoke bombs, take a good luck at yourselves your not much older than the kids with their parents and if anything did kick of you would be the first ones running to your mummy's. I wouldn't blame any parent that twated you for being such pricks.
Guest Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I agree with this to be fair. Not saying it's necessarily right but I don't remember feeling in any distress when Red Star fans buried Filbert Street in smoke although that's just one person. I'm thinking more of this 'family friendly atmosphere' in general and how the club on many occasions have tried to make out that passion/noise isn't wanted by the kids. I loved it all myself. Apart from the fact that the smoke hadn't properly cleared from our en at kick off and 5 seconds in they shot from their own half and scored past an unable-to-see Tim Flowers. I was sat in the shitty end stand that day and could barely see our goal.
Paulmot Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Isn't N Block technically not part of the Family Stand? Not that it particularly matters but I'm just interested to know. Hi C-man I could not reply in the complete idiots thread. I am not against standing. It was the saying that it was ok to take undesignated seats to do so. At the time the same people defending this ( not standing but seat robbing) are the same ones defending pyro. I asked how far did they want to go? We are now seeing the next raising of the bar. I have highlighted the most appropriate definition related to football fans, I am not saying the others apply just using them to give context. ultra ˈʌltrə/ nouninformal noun: ultra; plural noun: ultras 1. an extremist. "ultras in the animal rights movement" synonyms: extremist, radical, fanatic, zealot, diehard, revolutionary, rebel, militant, subversive fanatic fəˈnatɪk/ noun 1. a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, especially for an extreme religious or political cause. In this case atmosphere at football matches. It is the excessive and single minded that most applies. I enjoy the standing, singing and shouting at games but not all people want to do it the whole match. Standing in proper areas should be brought back, to allow those who wish to stand for the whole game, to do so. The use of Flares at games will not aid those trying to get safe standing. They are illegal in this country and rightly so. Unfortunately a minority will as usual spoil it for the majority.
jh95 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Very, very weird in the family stand. At away games, yes. In the family stand, nah.
