5waller5 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Never in the history of MOM has a winner been so clear. Well done NP.
RobHawk Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 What an absolutely horrifying thing to read!! You could of least put a spoiler in! I still can't believe my eyes! The judging panel is chaired by former Football League manager Dave Bassett; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins. Don Goodman - An expert!!! Who the f**k decided that????
Guest kristianity77 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Its funny reading about all the people in here going on about the curse and what have you! However, I suppose it does have some reasoning behind it. I mean you normally get the manager of the month award for winning most if not all your games during a month. At worst the manager of a team will have gone unbeaten. So this curse nonsense is bound to keep popping up because if a team were to win 3 or 4 on the bounce (which is normally what is required to win it) then more often than not a defeat is right around the corner because thats how football works. So they just associate it with winning this award Funny though how superstitious people get about it!
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 The power of any curse is if people believe it, if this sort of talk starts getting into the players and managers heads then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, we all know that sport can be as much a mental test as a physical one, and footballers are a superstitious lot. I wouldn't be surprised if since the stories of a curse more teams lost the game after winning the Manager of the Month award than before this curse existed. It's like Voodoo, the power is in your mind... Is that Jeff?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 My uncle(huge Leicester fan) died a few days before the QPR, which coincides with our winning run I like to think he's playing a part somehow
Bluetintedspecs Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Well done Nige, those lumping on Watford I hope you don't get your 30 pieces of silver, if you do.... shove it up your ass COYB
wight88 Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Didn't Dyche win two of these in a row earlier this season? I know McDermott did when he took reading up two years ago.
Mack Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Nigel was interviewed on SSN this morning and that Welsh wally John Davies asked him to "Fill him in" about the Dog attack incident in Romania as talked about by Pearson in the recent Telegraph interview. "Fill you in?" Nigel replied.... "I wouldn't want to do that." I bet he would!
Vlad the Fox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 My uncle(huge Leicester fan) died a few days before the QPR, which coincides with our winning run I like to think he's playing a part somehow He was the inner voice in the linesman's head last weekend. 'Thats in. Goal.'

I heard that I absolutely love NP's dry sense of humour, it's brilliant, he's actually far funnier than someone like Holloway.

Corky Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I heard that I absolutely love NP's dry sense of humour, it's brilliant, he's actually far funnier than someone like Holloway. Agree, him and Mick McCarthy are great.
Dan Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Amazes me that people would rather he didn't get acknowledged for his efforts because they buy the biggest myth in football Congrats Pearson. Well deserved.
Langston Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I heard that I absolutely love NP's dry sense of humour, it's brilliant, he's actually far funnier than someone like Holloway. Holloway tries too hard.
Corky Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Modern Football Is Rubbish: Nostalgia Spot Manager of the Month Awards ain't what they used to be
Lobsterboyuk Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Well done Nige, the "curse" didn't hurt Garcia when he won MOTM and then played us next game
phillo Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 gone on nigel well deserved now lets get you feb aswell
iamafox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I can't see a reason why we would receive the MOTM curse again. Hopefully the one we had last season was just once in a lifetime.
Tielemans63 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Wow, that is one ugly trophy. Well done to big Nige though. For a guy with no tactical awareness or ability to handle big egos he's done pretty well hasn't he?
Unabomber Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Nige looks fantastic in his photo, his cheeks are really glowing.
