Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 But it's not the leg that decides whether a player is offside. It's the upper body. Where did you get that from?
Jimothy Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 But it's not the leg that decides whether a player is offside. It's the upper body. It's any part of the body you can score with actually.
MGLCFC Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 That's the ruling - you can't expect a lino to see if someone's toe, ankle, wrist, little finger is playing someone onside. It's often said on MOTD when discussing whether a player is onside or not. They always refer to his body just been in front, not his leg, toe or wrist.

It's often said on MOTD when discussing whether a player is onside or not. They always refer to his body just been in front, not his leg, toe or wrist. What ruling? You can't play the ball with your finger or your wrist. Body parts of defenders are scarcely mentioned in rulings (real rulings, like the ones here, not things MOTD pundits say) but the IFAB specifies that (see previous link for source): "Consideration should be given to any part of the head, body or feet of the attacker in relation to the second last defender, the ball or the halfway line. For the purposes of this decision, the arms are not considered to be part of the body" It's about parts of the body you can play the ball with. No idea where you're getting your information from but it looks a bit like you're making it up. Was's back leg is closer to the opponent's goal line than any part of Forestieri that he can play the ball with. You can't say it's offside because Forestieri's leg is past Was's torso when Was's back leg is closer to the goal line.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Swings in roundabouts imo Who does? Stan Collymore?
lgfualol Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 First on the FLS again. Leicester league show. We're such a tinpot club.
Fox in the North Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Nugents final shot looked extremely difficult on the spin. I know he had a crap game but don't think he should get stick for that.
Grewks Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Nugents final shot looked extremely difficult on the spin. I know he had a crap game but don't think he should get stick for that. didn't watch the FLS, but at the game i got the impression he could've left it for knocky whose body was in a better position......could he have done?
MC Prussian Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Still cannot decide whether Watford's first was offside or not. The TV replays don't help, either.
ozleicester Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 The shot of the back of the net bulging as Drinky's goal goes in... is porn! Thier first is the equivalent of Wood's against them.. lets face it, the ball just hit Forrrets.. head and bounced cvnt
Carl the Llama Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Still cannot decide whether Watford's first was offside or not. The TV replays don't help, either. Definitely on. If you pause the video from the "today's goals" thread just as the ball's kicked, at most Forestieri's hand is beyond Wes.
foxfanazer Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I was singing James and Drinkwater's praises to a mate who doesn't see much of Leicester (Bury fan ) before the game so they made me look lioe I knew what I was talking about. I went absolutely crazy when Drinky scored and accidently broke my mates phone screen. That was an expensive goal for me

Soar Fox Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Kasper should be doing better for the second goal, but it all started from a sloppy piece of defending from De Laet.
dogadug Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Kasper should be doing better for the second goal, but it all started from a sloppy piece of defending from De Laet. Agree with everyone saying Kasper should have done better with the second goal, however I can't think of many other keepers who would have kept that point blank range shot out from 1 of their corners
Kitchandro Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Nugents final shot looked extremely difficult on the spin. I know he had a crap game but don't think he should get stick for that. Seriously? He was about 5 yards out. That shouldn't be difficult for a pro footballer. Terrible miss.
Guest ttfn Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Seriously? He was about 5 yards out. That shouldn't be difficult for a pro footballer. Terrible miss. As much as I have disagreed with virtually everything else you've said about the game, I also thought it was a very, very decent chance and nowhere near as tough as others have said. Six yards out with nobody particularly close to him, the ball at a nice height. The net really should have bulged.
Carl the Llama Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Nuge had to swivel and wrap his foot around a ball which was behind him, it would've been a special strike make no mistake, and he nearly pulled it off. What's disappointing is that if he'd left it, Tony was in a better position, and I think he realised that straight away too.
MC Prussian Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Let's just watch this one forever and ever more:
