Hard to say really, i'd probably say:

Gk: Schmeichel

Rb: Trippier

CB: Morgan

CB: Dunne

LB: Not sure really. havent seen anyone impress me. Probably Konchesky/Cresswell

CM: Kranjcar

CM: Hughes

CM: Drinkwater

RW: Phillips (Matt)

ST: Ings

LW: Austin (couldnt keep him out)

Loads of players that require mentioning like: Andy Reid, McCormack, Barton, Green, Shackell, James, Rhodes, Benayoun even

Surprised how many people have included Kranjcar, he's been poor every time I've seen him play this season.

Ditto. Astonishing that anyone thinks Kranjcar is having a better season than, say, Craig Bryson. I'm no Derby fan but Bryson has scored 12 times and has 8 assists.

FWIW the whoscored.com (stats site) Championship team of the season so far:

McCarthy

Trippier

Burn

Duffy

Forsyth

Cairney

Barton

Bryson

Reid

McCormack

Vokes

Don't even know where to start with this.

Start by calling it what it is, a steaming pile of horse shit

Not one player from the team who were 10 points clear at the time. Makes sense.

Why has everyone got Dunne in their team!? Seen him play 5 times this year and 4 and a half of them he has been utter wank.

Given

Reid
Bryson
Drinkwater

Ings

It depends if you wanted an XI to actually play a game or just the best player in each position. These arnt necessarily the same thing, if it was to play a game if have Ings and Vokes as my strikers as they play so well together and really seem to compliment each other, but I don't think Vokes is the second best striker in the division. Ings and McCormack if it was the best player in each position, these though I feel are to similar to play together.

Morgan, Knockaert & Drinkwater would get in anyone's 11.

Which is meaningless when discussing the Championship 11 given they'd only have to be the 2nd best player in their given positions at the club in question, as opposed to the 2nd best in the league minimum. You've gone very weird in recent days not sure I like it.

On subject this would be hard to do, it'd depend on whether your considering this season or a player general ability, McCormack for example is having a great season but isn't a patch on Rhodes or Austin for me, the latter would obviously not get a look in when basing it on form due to his injury.

And bang goes the credibility of that site.

Yeah probably fair comment. Their methodology or data (or both) is flawed for the Championship  -- 7 of their top 8 rated players in the division are centre backs(!)

However that team does have the advantage of being based solely on numbers and not opinion. Dan Burn and Shane Duffy are clearly getting too much credit for being the best defenders on struggling teams but the other selections don't seem totally outlandish to me, certainly not as ridiculous as suggestions like Kranjcar, Benayoun, Phillips and Green.

Dunne and Ekotto are terrible. Apart from Austin and a couple others, QPR's team are a bunch of old folks whom had their best moments in 2000.

From our team I'd probably say a few of these should get in most XI teams. Kasper, Morgan, De Laet, Drinky and Knocky. Dyer when it isnt wet.

Jamie Vardy is the best player in this league.

He's won 7 penalties and scored 10 goals.  Plus he creates his goals.  I'd say hes definitely up there in the list.

And that doesn't count the numerous goals created as well from chasing complete lost causes like De Laets v Middlesbrough.

Couldn't possibly say having only watched one team but you have to laugh when people overlook some of our players all the time.

People seriously under-estimate most of our team.

How they can put Barton over Drinkwater I will never know...

They're the type of people who'll say the main reason Leicester are top is because of Nugent & Schmeichel and a load of others who play around them. It's nearly impossible to put something like this together.

I bet if you asked Burnley/Derby fans who their key players have been, people would be surprised. If we told everyone our best three players have been Dyer, Vardy and Drinkwater (in my opinion it's been them three so far) then no-one would believe us.

Shows how over-rated 'stats' are then.

Fairly happy with that. I'd probably swap Schmeichel for Green, Hughes for Krancjar, Rhodes/Austin for McCormack and Knockaert for Dyer.

Dyer has been a far better player this season than Knockaert

I agree that other CM's have had good seasons but Krancjar is definitely a class above this division.
