Kitchandro Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 If the numbers in L & K had the attitude that everyone in SK1 had yesterday we'd have a brilliant atmosphere.
-blue- Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 We were in the family stand yesterday and definitely heard (and saw) the band of brothers in SK1 - well done lads, hope the momentum grows.
Renart Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Fixed that for you. Excuse me. What is up with you? Are you one of these antagonistic guys who sits behind a keyboard and just has a go at people? Are you 12? Because I really have no interest in this kind of thing - unless you are actually funny! -sigh- I am a little bit frustrated to be honest - I thought the article was interesting and proved your point/joke. I hadn't realized that you were so insecure that when you made a mistake (genuinely happens sometimes) by having a go at me that you couldn't just say - oh sh*t sorry mate, I got the wrong end of the stick there - . Bloody Hell.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 If the numbers in L & K had the attitude that everyone in SK1 had yesterday we'd have a brilliant atmosphere. That's what I mean. We have the numbers, you have the voices
cityfanlee23 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 If the numbers in L & K had the attitude that everyone in SK1 had yesterday we'd have a brilliant atmosphere. I'd say that's the main issue over there... The top half of the "singing section" do just that... The bottom half sit down... So it's at capacity and to be honest... The only fault being their attitude towards the drum... Other than that they can't help being at capacity with a load of "atmosphere hunters" who pay to be in the middle of the singing but don't join in... I just hope those bastards don't move to sk1 and ruin this section too... I fear as many will join us up in sk1... Many of the "atmosphere hunters" who just stand there will do nothing....
cityfanlee23 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 That's what I mean. We have the numbers, you have the voicesYou only have the numbers at the moment though... You have 400 fans who sing (although not constantly) and you are at max capacity! Even if you had 400 fans who sang constantly like sk1 did yesterday... Although you would improve... You'd still be outsung by any away team that brings 1,000+...The corner where Sk1 is situated Is bigger than L/K and has more potential (I'm not arguing, just trying to point out a reason why sk1 was chosen) No matter how many completely dedicated fans sit in L/K block... Sk1 can hold more

Lee don't worry mate I have heard that the club have instructed the stewards that if they see someone not singing in SK1 then they are to eject them.
cityfanlee23 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Lee don't worry mate I have heard that the club have instructed the stewards that if they see someone not singing in SK1 then they are to eject them. Yeah someone mentioned removing a panel on the back wall... Quicker way to eject fans
AndWhat? Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Just about recovered but my voice is knackered. Absolutely loved yesterday, onwards and upwards from here.
Bert Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I think you're missing the point. It would be a better atmosphere if you didn't rely on the drum.It probably would. But with L&K so reliant on the drum to create an atmosphere why would Lee not want to see the drum return?
AndWhat? Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I'd personally love a drum in SK1, but not a massive one that controls the atmosphere,a small one that helps keep the songs going and helps keep the songs at the right pace.

Dan Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 A bit embarrassing that certain posters are trying to turn what was an excellent afternoon into a bit of a self-aggrandising ego boost for themselves, but hey ho - don't want to dwell on that. Overall a fantastic afternoon and credit to everyone who took it upon themselves to go over. Thought everyone gave their all and it really paid off. The highlight for me would have to be looking over the other side of the Kop/East Stand barrier and seeing two little kiddies going mad swinging their scarves round their head, trying to join in. I hope the club start to realise that it can be the noise and colour in the stands, as much as what goes on on the field, that can get children hooked on football. A great effort and hope SK1 continues to grow. Middle paragraph is spot on. I was put through Peter Taylor's football at the age of 7. I don't think it was the football itself that made me want to go back.
Dan Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 That's what I mean. We have the numbers, you have the voices And this is where the conflict is caused. Too many of L Block in my opinion are too bothered by the away fans, they even admit they go there due to it being next to away fans. It probably would. But with L&K so reliant on the drum to create an atmosphere why would Lee not want to see the drum return? So that they learn to not be reliant on it. I'd personally love a drum in SK1, but not a massive one that controls the atmosphere,a small one that helps keep the songs going and helps keep the songs at the right pace. Wouldn't be totally against that myself.

Too many people wanting to stand around looking like moody ****ers instead of going tonto!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 We were in the family stand yesterday and definitely heard (and saw) the band of brothers in SK1 - well done lads, hope the momentum grows. Love this, this is exactly how it felt yesterday, just a bunch of guys enjoying themselves and singing non-stop
harpendenfox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I was dead opposite you in A. You were brilliant. Really loud at times. Love the idea of that corner becoming an intimidating wall of sound. Congrats to all
Babylon Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 It probably would. But with L&K so reliant on the drum to create an atmosphere why would Lee not want to see the drum return? So people learn to no rely on it, it's not a hard concept. The drum used to be complimentary to the singing, now it leads everything.
LutterworthLCFC Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I saw a couple of stewards go up there, was there any trouble with them or were they alright about it all? Good atmosphere though!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I saw a couple of stewards go up there, was there any trouble with them or were they alright about it all? Good atmosphere though! They were fine just asked us not to bang on the back. They even said they were fine with us standing up! Then they went back down to the front and we didn't see them again.
CongyFox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Sat in j3 yesterday and in fairness it looked class up there, surprising loud aswell!
sylofox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Wow just got home from yesterdays game and reading this wish I had not fvcking bothered. We put a huge effort in my voice is still fvcked and all there is is fighting. I don't think anyone thinks we were better we could not here L,K co we was making such a noise. Also it's not a case of who is better it is about the atmosphere. It would be nice to get some interaction between the two. As we used to have in the pens at filbo. Pen 3 sing us a song pen 3 pen 3 and East stand sing us a song. It would all go towards the atmosphere. And on a day like yesterday when the away fans offer nothing it would all add to it. We need the atmosphere in the whole ground not just sk1 and l&k. We want 2,3 and 4 to join in as they seemed to in numbers in the second half. FFS this is not a you and us yes lets have the banter between the 2 but is not a fight. I personally thought we all wanted the same thing an electric atmosphere that the opposition hate coming too.

sylofox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Why after yesterday would we want a drum in sk1 we never went a minute without a song starting. All we need is a couple hundred more to join us lower down and across sk2. As I thought it did spread across the back in the second half. Now hopefully people have seen what can be they will join. Let it grow over a few games and see how it goes. We don't need a drum we just need the people. We never had a drum in the pens at filbo and we did ok.
