Why after yesterday would we want a drum in sk1 we never went a minute without a song starting.

All we need is a couple hundred more to join us lower down and across sk2.

As I thought it did spread across the back in the second half.

Now hopefully people have seen what can be they will join.

Let it grow over a few games and see how it goes.

We don't need a drum we just need the people.

We never had a drum in the pens at filbo and we did ok.

I wasnt talking about getting a drum for the Wednesday game!

Maybe when there's 3000 all going nuts in SK1 it could help!

If we get 3k singing across the back of the kop you would never here a drum.

And if we get 3k like a couple of hundred were yesterday there won't be a club in the prem beat us.

3k will be 6k against the top boys.

And I doubt any home club managed what we did yesterday.

A full 90 mins I bet is unheard off by home fans.

Everyone of our fans that turned up for it should hold there heads high.

A sterling performance and a big thanks to spirit of filbo and they other guy'son here that were talking about this day since the new year.

Think going forward we can all be proud if this catches on.

As for L and K long may you continue to make a noise.

Just expect a little banter (not a fight) we can both help each other when things go a little quiet.

Then hopefully when the teams struggling between the two of us we can lift them to a win or a draw.

We all need to remember we are the twelth man.

The idea is we help out when things are hard not just when the going is good.

Are you doing it for the Blackpool game then? I may make the permanent move

I believe the next two planned are Yeovil and Qpr.

But the idea is go for it from now on.

Some where there anyway and some have already moved.

The idea is we build on yesterday then next season hope fully it will be seen as the norm.

We are hoping it will just grow from now on.

oh and with the greatest respect of everyone there yesterday please do we need that Take That song?

Thought I was in hell lol lol lol

Filbo spirit suggested sheff Wednesday as the next game, but I see no harm in getting as many people over there for all remaining games. There's always singers in the section so won't ever be quite.

Just got back home today. I've had a great weekend and this certainly helped to contribute towards that, as well as us finally getting one over Charlton though it could certainly have been more. We're bloody class atm.

With regards to SK1, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was great to be with several other like minded supporters who love the club and just wanted to sing for 90 minutes. Which is exactly what we all did. I came up with supporters of Chelsea, West Brom, Portsmouth and Charlton (obviously he was in the away end!) and they were impressed with what they saw from us. We seemed pretty loud given the numbers that we had there and we just didn't stop. The WBA fan said that he wishes that they had something like that at the Hawthorns because it would make things so much more enjoyable over there too. They also said that our team is class and we're certainly going up.

They did say that some of our songs were abit rubbish though, but that's just their opinion. As far as I'm concerned, at least we were just getting behind the team. If we can get this core group of supporters going then we can build our songbook further, and it'll be loud. I have hopes for this moving forwards.

The De Laet for good song made me laugh. We do need a song for him because he deserves one, though I don't think it should be this. lol Also, the Wasyl song has been stuck in all of our heads for the whole of today thanks to yesterday, wasn't too sure about that one at first but I think that could get going well.

I'd like to thank the Filbo Spirit guys for starting this and their work so far. It led towards a great day yesterday and I'm hopeful that it will lead to many more in the future too. Even if the football on the pitch won't necessarily always be so entertaining.

Soup Nazi and Staff, it was good to meet you, and Basingstoke fox it was good to see you again, hope you have a good night tonight!

Cheers mate, it was a cracking night out in the end! It was good to chat at HT.

That'd be sol the wall bamba, with a bit of assistance from me and mrs h. Good to meet Staff, Mr and Mrs Soup Nazi, and bump into Basingstoke Fox again.

Good to see you again too Steve. Will hopefully see you guys again in the not too distant future.

Wednesday will be a test as they will travel strong and make a noise.

As I said above some have moved after yesterday some others will join in.

It is not a closed club and we don't have a song sheet all it is about is encouraging people into one area that feel the same.

We had a party yesterday the ideal is we have a huge party every week.

Thank you to everyone who made such a brilliant effort in SK1 yesterday - we think it's fair to say it was a resounding success. Thanks also go to those whose help along the way and comments since have been invaluable.

Perhaps too many to individually comment on at this time on a Sunday evening but we will try to answer a few during the week. For now, our write up can be found at the below link:

The main thing to take away is that the trials vs Wednesday and QPR will no longer go ahead as such. We will be going for it every game from now on. With that in mind, if you loved yesterday and want to get involved on a full-time basis, please do relocate permanently - we need you.

Thanks again and see you at the Blackpool game - who's involved?

Great news filbo spirit. We were there yesterday, but wont be there for the next couple. Current plans are me and Sol will make the QPR and Doncaster games. I'd personally recommend SK1 to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and an 'away day at home'. Not quite the old flibert street kop, but the potential is there. It was great to look along sk2 and see loads of people standing and singing. And as someone mentioned in another thread, I too saw the kids in G1 (?) joining in with what we were doing. Fantastic, cos in 10 years time these kids will be replacing me as I retire to the west stand.

Think you can mark yesterday down as a resounding success, keep it going lads, well done.

Definitely be there for the Yeovil game but not too sure about Blackpool as the people I normally go with have work commitments and im not the sort to go on me tod, but I enjoyed sat that much I might make an exception and probably meet some of you boys down the boozer.

It would be great if more came over and joined in. I mean if we doubled in numbers the atmosphere would be immense.

Itd be great if we managed to get something resembling this. (It gets very loud from 1min onwards)

What's the club's official line on this SK1 then? If people are going to move STs to there is it likely that the club could still strictly enforce the rules (assuming noone starts chucking smoke bombs etc) and make everyone sit thus moving for no reason?

Posted

The club will not be seen to back us cos of the rules surrounding standing.

They were informed and I did have a fear we would have a heavy stewarding.

But they left us alone to party other than the guys banging the back of the stand.

I seen no other problems and we were not told to sit.

Big up for the club for letting us party.

Thankfully no trouble and I don't see a reason why they should look to stop us.

SK1 IS HAVING A PARTY.

Been through the thread and put on some +1's for the comments.

Greatful for all the comment's but really this is how it always should have been.

lets just hope it can grow and sk2,3 and 4 join in from the start.

Will say into the second half they all started to join in and the last 15mins or so it started to ring.

If you build it they will come.

I was sat quite a way from you and thought you did a good job although I wouldn't call it 'loud'. If you get larger numbers involved it should get louder and hopefully spread right across the Kop.

Delighted that it's now happening every remaining home game. I was getting the feeling there'd be a slight emptiness in the Blackpool game.

See you all there.

Almost forgot to say a big thank you to those who listened and adhered to what the stewards had to say regarding banging on the back of the stand.

If we as a group are going to be a success we must prove to the club that we are capable of both self-policing and co-operating with the stewards and this went a long way towards doing that.

Thank you.

Took me a while to recover after Saturday (absolute fail on my part trying to get in the ground for 2.30, missed kick off) so here's my summary of the game and the posts in here since then:

Anyone in SK1 confused as to why we couldn't hear L1 at all during the game may well have been dropped on the head as a child. Clearly if you are within a group of 100 plus chanting non-stop you haven't got a prayer of hearing a block who are stationed over 100 metres away. Starting that sort of debate is just lunacy: Union FS have said that they in no way want any sort of competition with L1 - they want to work with them. I hope L1ers recognise that and don't buy any 'my block's better than your block' bullshit.

Interesting to see that some people have said they thought we were loud from P1 (nice video Leicesterboyuk), A1 etc and yet others in the Kop have suggested otherwise. I personally don't think there's too much wrong with that at this stage. At the end of the day there was 100 in there and it seemed to have a galvanising effect on the Kop at times - i.e. what it is designed to do! The noise will increase with the numbers.

Think those in the block behaved well and did everything asked of them by the stewards which is great. Thankful that the Club decided to leave it alone - hopefully they will continue to do so as I know it is encouraging a few more to purchase season tickets next year where they were considering leaving it.

I agree with a few others that L1 could do with a couple of games without the drum to (sort of) remember how to do it: I think it's fair to say that they have become reliant on it to lead things, rather than use it only to keep the pace and keep songs going. I wouldn't mind a very small drum in SK1 to do exactly that.

My one criticism of us on the day was that we were too keen to flick through the songbook. There were times where we were on the verge of getting the Kop onside with a song and then we switched to another chant. Perhaps we need to give each chant a bit longer to develop and let other blocks get involved.

Talk of 2/3/4k is a bit dense too. We got 100 in there for one game. Baby steps people. Will be important for Union FS to discuss with the Club the plans for next season: we must get people in there early when the renewals are up.

This is going to be a big thing for you. If we go up, based on our last number of STHs when we were in the Prem it's about a 5k increase from what we have now (my feeling is it'll be even more than this).

My guess is SK1 would be a popular location for new STH as it's in the Kop and also not the most expensive area. You'll have to secure your seats early in there.

I wouldn't mind going on my own if there is a singing section like this to be honest,

I might find myself in a similar situation to be fair.

They've never tried to make L sit, and you'd think they'd have more of a problem with that than in the corner of the Kop.

If we get enough numbers up there they'll struggle to enforce anything.

Good point, and has been raised by UFS.Relocation now is the best bet.

I stand level with the touchline in SK1, so Union FS were just to my right.

I thought they put in a great effort and were definitely louder in the second half than the first. Numbers will grow in time.

A couple of constructive criticisms.Firstly, slow down. This isn't specific to Union FS, our fans in general. It started off being just Ring of Fire but it's creeping in to almost every song now. Bring on the Sunderland.. dies far too soon because it's being rushed. Same with a lot of other songs. When the songs are slowed down it sounds much purer and easier for others to join in with. I believe with some of the lads you've got in there, you'll be able to crack it.

Secondly, the range of songs. I think this is the perfect opportunity to try and create some songs that are going to last the test of time. I think the focus should be to move away from the generic chants we keep stealing off everyone and just adding Leicester in. I know it's a stupid comparison but if you look at United's songbook for individual players it's incredible. Pete Boyle who is mainly responsible for writing most of their chants is a genius. If you guys are serious about this, I don't think it would hurt to just try and sit down and brainstorm some tunes that could be used, more original the better. It's likely we'll be able to keep this group of players together if we go up. So specific chants about players should be the way forward. One of the loudest songs still to this day across the Kop is Iwan is a Welshman. No surprise there, it's a catchy tune and easy to remember.Anyone can clap their hands and shout Leicester to a tune, but what will unite you and gain credibility is aiming chants at players. I've suggested a few in the past, albeit a few years ago when we were first trying N Block, but will try and think of some again.

Only minor points, but ones I believe will really help you make this a long-standing thing, Good luck.
