Sharpe's Fox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 At this moment? Obviously not. Just seems a top bloke with a decent track record.
Munshi Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Obviously not. Just seems a top bloke with a decent track record. And he said at the beginning of the season that he thought we'd be promoted
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 I can't see past a good City win on Saturday. 3-1 with Vardy, Nugent and Knocky all scoring.
kingfox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Would anyone consider playing De Laet at left-back and put Moore right-back? De Laet has played left-back before, for Man Utd & Norwich.
Mark_from_USA Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Ipswich are a handy side under Mick, a manager I wouldn't mind at the helm here, and will make it difficult for us be it by being organised defensively or going at us. McGoldrick being injured is a massive plus point for us but they can still cause problems so I think we will see a 1-1 draw with Nugent for us and some sort of a wonder goal for them. I don't see them coming in here and going for a draw - it won't help them enough, as they are 5 points adrift of the playoffs. However it may still end as you say. I'd like to see Leicester put up a tight game defensively. They have given up too many avoidable goals lately.
deep blue Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Yeah I agree about Miquel playing there, he looks more comfortable than Schlupp and Moore in that position So team for ipswich game. GK: Kasper RB: De Laet CB: Wasilewski CB: Morgan LB: Miquel CM: Drinkwater CM: James RW: Knockaert LW: Mahrez AT: Vardy AT: Nugent Bench: Logan, Schlupp, Moore, Dyer, King, Phillips and Wood. Score Prediction: 1-2 Ipswich Wouldn't it be wiser to pick a team you think might win?
Munshi Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Schlupp absolutely bossed it at Watford as a left back so there's no reason why he can't play there on Saturday.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Would anyone consider playing De Laet at left-back and put Moore right-back? De Laet has played left-back before, for Man Utd & Norwich. It's definately an option Kingfox yes

One Legged Beaver Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Same as usual but with Schlupp at left back. Against any other team I would have said Wood in for Nugent as well but Nuge's record against them is outstanding!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 A win for---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------US
ramadaone Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Do you honestly think NP will play Nugent just because he has a good record against Ipswich ? Not saying Nuge will or won't play just that NP will pick a team to win on Sat regardless on how they have performed against Ipswich in the past
deanolegend1989 Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I can see this being a 'we shouldnt of dropped Dyer' game. When Pearson rotates and we draw or lose.
Dan Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Schmeichel Moore - Morgan - Wasilewski - Schlupp Knockaert - James - Drinkwater - Dyer Vardy - Nugent Subs; Logan, Miquel, Ngoma, King, Mahrez, Wood, Phillips I'd have put Mahrez in if it wasn't for Konchesky's absence. I think it'd be a huge risk starting with Schlupp and Mahrez and although I still don't think it's ideal, I think it's the most solid left side we have available. Although I wonder what Knockaert on the left and Schlupp behind would be like, with Mahrez on the right in front of Moore. Miquel at LB is a possibility too. Ngoma... well I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but who else exactly can we call upon for a defender? EDIT; So De Laet isn't suspended? In which case, same side, put Schlupp on the bench for Ngoma and put Moore in at LB, De Laet at RB. I was surprised at how comfortable Moore looked there on Wednesday.
Dan Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Do you honestly think NP will play Nugent just because he has a good record against Ipswich ? Not saying Nuge will or won't play just that NP will pick a team to win on Sat regardless on how they have performed against Ipswich in the past I think having Nugent in the side might be enough to put Ipswich off. Maybe I'm under-rating McCarthy here but I think it'd give us a slight mental edge and it'd give someone else, I'm looking at Vardy, to capitalise on their complacency.
Far Post Gerry Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Mick McDermott Is that Jacques Villeneuve on the left?
Babylon Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Schlupp absolutely bossed it at Watford as a left back so there's no reason why he can't play there on Saturday. Attack wise he may have, but if you actually remember the game he was woeful in defence and they could and should have scored 2 or 3 from attacking him/getting behind him. David McGoldrick is out for the season for them, Ebanks Blake not fit to start according to MM so they are struggling up front. Sounds like he might go 4-4-2 hopefully as well... "Is one up front under consideration? “Well I went and had a look at Leicester last night at Nottingham Forest (2-2 draw). There’s always a consideration to do that because they’re a very good side, but Forest played one up front and were getting mullered for the first 20 minutes.â€"
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Who plays right back for Ipswich? Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Schlupp Knockaert James Drinkwater Dyer Nugent Vardy Having Schlupp and Dyer attacking down the left side is very effective. Schlupp is not a natural defender but his and Dyers movement pushes there attacking right sided players back. Come on Lads!!
BrummieFOX Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Do you honestly think NP will play Nugent just because he has a good record against Ipswich ? Not saying Nuge will or won't play just that NP will pick a team to win on Sat regardless on how they have performed against Ipswich in the past I think he probably would yea. Alex Ferguson was renowned for doing this. I think it's Nicky Butt who talks about it a bit in that new film/documentary, 'Class of the '92'. He often picked players because they had a blinder against the opposition the last time they played them. The frame a mind a player is in can have a massive impact on their performance. Nuge knowing he always bags against these could give him the confidence he needs. He's got a few records like this if I remember right (?) and he always seems to keep them going.
Renart Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Kasper RDL Morgan Was Moore Knockaert James Drinkwater Fennec Vardy Nugent. Subs:Logan, King, Hammond, Phillips, Miquel, Wood, Dyer. A bit uncertain about the left back position. Tempted to put Miquel in there and bring Moore back into the center. I think what I have gone for is our best 4 players in defense. Whether they are the best 4 as a unit I am not sure. Having said that, options are always nice. I also think it is is time that Fennec got a start and I have been closer and closer as the weeks have gone on to giving Dyer a break. Leicester 2-0
Dan Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 can someone tell me who Ngoma is? Young defender from the academy, couldn't think of any other defenders and wasn't convinced by having only the one defender in Miquel on the bench, although it's a risk either way.
Fridge lcfc Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Going for a 3-1 win tomorrow. Nugent brace getting him over that 50 mark and within touching distance of the 20. Knockaert with a goal between nugents two.
