I don't think it matters anymore because we're not going to drop any more points for the rest of the season.  I'm calling it now.  Just you wait - people will be quoting this in 10 games time.

Bold statement. I hope you are right but I can't see us not taking our foot off the gas when promotion/the league title being sewn up...

Loving this thread though, to think we could add 4 teams by midweek! :)

Had to bump this having just realised that Watford can only finish 3 behind us with a perfect run now.

This is the single most satisfying stat I've rolled off all season. I'd like to dedicate this accolade to the ginger chav kid behind the goal after Chris Wood's Face of God. :appl:

No no no, ginger Watford-supporting Christmas-jumper-wearing geek ASPIRING to being a Chav… that's a whole rung LOWER on the social ladder than that Quavers-eating dog-sucking homeless bloke

At the moment we still need 94 points to win promotion.

The current points and maximum points for the following teams are :-

Leicester 82, 109

Burnley 79, 103

QPR 69, 93

Derby 66, 90

Wigan 62, 89

Reading 59, 83

Brighton 56, 83

I make it thus.

Burnley 103

Qpr 93

Derby 90

Wigan 89

Reading 83

Forest 81

Ipswich 81

Brighton 83

We have 82, so by my reckoning, we need 12 to be certain of promotion. From 9 games. Surely..... worst we can finish - I think- is 7th. Forest cant catch us now.

You've missed Derby's home game with Charlton this weekend.

Whatever happens on Saturday we must get something from our game in hand away at Wigan, that would lead us nicely into 2 home games where we hopefully will pick up at least 4 points. QPR have 2 away games when we have our 2 at home, that's the opportunity to finish things off in terms of the top 2.

11 points in 9 games would do it as QPR won't overturn a 20 goal difference, with their strike force.

Also they have two difficult back to back away games coming up, Bournemouth and Blackburn, any points dropped obviously reduce our requirement. Personally think Wigan and Derby out of equation. Obviously, if we avoid defeat at home to QPR all to the good, but I hope and expect us to be up either before of after the Reading game, leaving the last four games to be stress free and a celebration.

Nice to win the league, but not too bothered, all that matters is promotion. The players obviously get a medal if they win, but Nigel knows it's all about going up.

Let's chill a bit, the atmosphere in the stands got through to the players. We got a valuable point tonight, but the crowd maybe need a wake up call as well as the players - we are all in this together!

Fantastic stuff really and realistically Reading and Brighton will join the list shortly
