Vlad the Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Like I said it was my first so that maybe influences it but I liked the open terrace, was mental packed on there the night Joachim scored that goal.
ScouseFox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I've got a few Liverpool and Everton mates who are looking forward to it. They've never been before though so I guess I'll let you know what they think after should we go up! I've got a few Liverpool and Everton mates who are looking forward to it. Voll Blau Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I don't think I'd rate leicester as an away day. Apart from our central location making it easy to travel too. Boring stadium, over priced for who we are. Not really any decent pubs around the ground and city centre not great either. Plus if you where staying over I think you'd be vastly underwelmed by our bars and clubs. Thats said what makes an away for me is being with your mates in a different place. I suppose it's cuz it's somewhere different. we had a decent time in Bournemouth and a cracking time in leicester square after qpr. Ended up in a yates or somewhere but it was packed and lively. Tend to just make the most of what you find. Charlton for example is a pain in the arse on the train as it takes so long to get across london. But once your back in the centre!! Don't rate blackburn as an away. But chuck in a stop over in manchester and your laughing. Another 2 I like which I no a lot don't are ispwich and norwich. Ball ache to get to for most. But I stay over in essex and have a 10min train to ipswich and an hour to norwich. Away pub in norwich is decent. Ipswich is a bit quiet at night but we can head back to somewhere like colchester after. Having lived in Colchester for three years I never rated it..
Dan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leicester_city/#King-Power-Stadium-Fans-Reviews Easiest way to find out is by reading fan reviews online. That top one makes for very good reading. I don't think Leicester away is too dis-similar to Derby away and I quite like Derby away - then again, would I like Derby away if it was 100 miles away? Not loads going for it but I could imagine it to be a decent away day on the train.
Dan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I actually quite like Millwall as an away day. Really? I think it's dire personally. Easily London's worst that I've been (Chelsea was nothing special at all either)

How dare you, how very dare, you...All those great pubs in leicester like The Wellington, Barley mow, for diversity the Dover castle , the corn exchange, the fountain, the Globe, the Rainbow and dove, Yates and then we have for a folklore experience the appropiatly named ' Good Neighbours' then the Royal Oak, a fine pub dining experience. And the pie shops, the best in the land....
dayday Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Sheffield Wednesday fans seemed pretty upset about the game being moved to a Friday too. Sheff Wed see us as one of there best away trips.....probably because they allways seem to beat us at our place.
Tommeh Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Ground, station and City are all in good distance of each other, anyone saying otherwise clearly hasn't travelled to any other grounds. Decent pubs nearby if you know where to head (again anyone saying otherwise hasn't seen some of the dumps we've drank in in recent seasons) and a steady night out after, added to our central location making it easy and cheap for train and car. Have already said to a couple of Wednesday mates who were gutted about the move to Friday to stick with it and they can't wait for the weekend down here. Only things which would make me think twice are ticket prices and our pretty formidable home form in recent seasons. IF we go up, very few sides will fail to bring the full 3,200. Like anything though it's your company and what you make of it.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Everyone I know that has come for a away day say it's really good barring the ticket price. Some good pubs, close to town, walk everywhere
Leicester_Numan Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 For me, it's what away fans see of Leicester when they come here. If they come by train, the journey to the ground isn't exactly attractive, but at least they get a nice view of the prison. If they come by car or coach, the majority come via the motorways so they only see the wonderful Narborough Road. It just reinforces the opinion that Leicester is a shithole. The whole area needs renovating, which, of course, will never happen. The ground is no better or worse than other modern day stadia. Our fans are capable of being better than most but also a lot worse due to the high percentage of negative, moaning, booing fans. It's also quite expensive for this division but also always relatively cheap in the top division so I suppose an away fans view would be dependant on the division we're in.
lavrentis Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 Counting House is good for away fans apparently
Kitchandro Posted 24 February 2014 Posted 24 February 2014 I'm going to get the papers get the papers haha!
JonnyBoy Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 bit late but our end at Forest last week. Sorry its short but stewards were sniffing me out
JonnyBoy Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 'Leicester is up there for one of the best modern stadiums for atmopshere, something i really didn't expect to be saying'
lgfualol Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Nah the whole place is shit Once Peter Soulsby has a jubilee garden on every street corner, it'll be nicer.
DennisNedry Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 From a Charlton fan on their fans forum: Leicester are a very good team, excellent players for this level, and unlike QPR, working really hard, and as a team.We made it easy for them though, they cut through us like butter, while up front we were toothless. Play like that against the Blades and we'll lose.A good day out though, saw the Richard III exhibition and car park, a couple of nice pubs and a decent curry :-)
Voll Blau Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Was chatting to a couple of Charlton fans in the Swan and Rushes. They wanted to know if we hated Forest or Derby more.
Voll Blau Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Derby & Forest. ....didn't they use to be our rivals? They play for their own trophy so I'm not even sure the pair of them are in the same league system as the rest of us any more.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 It's a cracking away day, they're coming to the centre of the Universe! COYB
Vlad the Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 They play for their own trophy so I'm not even sure the pair of them are in the same league system as the rest of us any more. I think they modelled it on the spl, added belper, rushcliff fc's and such like so as to build the tension before they play each other.
