lcfcfan23 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Pretty much carried Leeds all season. this is what i think, but whenever ive watched him (us,qpr and couple of others) hes looked relatively poor. knows where the net is mind
Richard Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 If it goes to a striker then it should be based on goals shouldn't it? Therefore McCormack should win it because he's scored more than Ings and in a poorer team too. I don't really see the logic in Ings winning it if he isn't top goalscorer.
65RosesFox Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 if we were to go up, would anyone take McCormack with us? have to pay a fair few million judging by the bids they rejected in january. some people dont seem to rate him, whereas others do. is there any other championship players you'd take with us? I think we need to buy a striker with Premier League experience, and preferably a target man that Vardy can feed off. I'd like to think any signings we make this summer are players with Prem experience but not past it like QPR's squad. Only one i'd take from the Championship is Cresswell and have Konch as back up.

Richard Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 nope, Ings has a much better all round game helping the team score rather than just being the one to do so (and he's not bad at that either to be fair) According to http://espnfc.com/stats/assists/_/league/eng.2/english-league-championship?cc=5739 Ings and McCormack have the same amount of assists. Obviously contribution to the team isn't just goals and assists but as a striker they're the two most important aspects when judging performance
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 It's got to be Drinky surely, we've run away with the League - how could it not be a Leicester player?
shade Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Milligan, Cleese, Everett. Sessions. if you asked me to name three geniuses, I probably wouldn't say Einstein....Newton.
Wink Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 It's got to be Drinky surely, we've run away with the League - how could it not be a Leicester player? Bale won it in the prem last year, did you not think he deserved that?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 The irony being DD wont even be our player of the year yet could be the divisions.
sdb Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 50/50 for me between DD and Ings. McCormack deserves to be in there but the captain of a mediocre, out of form side shouldn't win the award.
Guest ttfn Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 50/50 for me between DD and Ings. McCormack deserves to be in there but the captain of a mediocre, out of form side shouldn't win the award. Why not if he's the best player? There was a lot of hype for Ribery for the Ballon d'or which was obviously ridiculous in a world in which Messi and Ronaldo continue to play. I can't see Drinkwater getting a look in - he's been our best player this season and I actually can't quite believe that after the tail end of last season - but the assumption that just because he's been our best player he must be the best in the division shows a wilful misunderstanding of the role of the individual in a team sport. Or maybe it doesn't, perhaps there's a deeper philosophical question there. Either way I think that the right 3 people have been nominated, albeit I do think Bryson, Reid (who I think is the best player in the division) and Vardy can feel hard done by.
VLC86 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Wait, so the top scorer in the Championship wouldn't cut it in the Prem? You better be crossing your fingers for Nuge and Vardy then. That's argument doesn't really hold though does it? Vardy is a player on the up, if the season started in January my guess would be he would finish top scorer.McCormack has been a championship striker all of his career and as a result you have to ask the question why. Although you could say the same about Nugent but I believe he would have a part to play in the premiership. Plus, hasn't he scored 1 hattrick and 4 in another match? He's the sort of player that could go for the rest of the season without scoring
leicesterseddon Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 I'll be Ings, I have no doubt about that. Deserves it though to be fair, although DD has had a very good season.
DB11 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 I think Ings will get it. People always look at goals being the most key thing in football.
Mark_from_USA Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Luka Drinkwater. He runs LCFC like Modric runs Real Madrid. t probably should be a midfielder but like others have said they will go for a striker. Knowing how City struggled last year with missing so many chances in their poor run you can see how valuable a striker who takes his chances is though.
Lasty Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 They'll give it Ings because they don't like us. Reckon Drinkwater is a far superior player overall.
Fox Ulike Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 For me, it should be Vardy. Has he even missed a League game? From Day 1, with his winner against Middlesbro, Vardy has been the best player in this League.
65RosesFox Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 For me, it should be Vardy. Has he even missed a League game? From Day 1, with his winner against Middlesbro, Vardy has been the best player in this League. He's missed two. One i think through suspension for five yellows. Not sure about other. I agree he's been one of our best players, but when it comes to top strikers all they look at is goals really. But I hope he wins player of the season for us, he edges ahead of DD for me because of his transformation from last season.
philce Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Isn't this voted for by the league managers? The same managers who have been singing or praises after being beaten every week by us? Still agree than Ings will win though.
Langston Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Thank god Danny had a stormer against us when Barnsley beat us 2-1 in Leicester in 11/12.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Side note - anyone else think Ings looks way, WAY older than only 21?
Lionator Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Side note - anyone else think Ings looks way, WAY older than only 21? He's 22 on Sunday.
Spiritwalker Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Wait, so the top scorer in the Championship wouldn't cut it in the Prem? You better be crossing your fingers for Nuge and Vardy then. Vardy will make a better Premier League striker than McCormack due to his pace.
