WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 #FLAwards @SkyBetChamp Player of the Year Shortlist: Drinkwater, Ings & McCormack http://t.co/W3QqynTnSp http://t.co/IFARCNFwWx
Haydos Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Only midfielder, good to see. Ings will probably get it though. Can't really argue that much I suppose.
lgfualol Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Why dont they do these things at the end of the season?
XLM Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Decent. To be fair you look at the past winners at the bottom there and it really does show what a player we've got on our hands
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Why dont they do these things at the end of the season? I've wondered about this too. If Drinky wins, it's fully deserved. Wouldn't grumble too much if Ings gets it though.
VLC86 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Why even bother listing McCormack? TBJS has more chance of being elected PM than him winning it PS if this happens im moving to North Korea
Dan Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 What a fantastic signing he really has been. £500k for someone who'd been a bit of a journeyman in this league and we can honestly say he's been developed into one of the league's top players during his time here. I hope he wins it but I don't think he will.
OxfordshireFox Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 I hate how it always goes to the strikers just because they get the goals and thus the Glory so it should go to Drinkwater but Ings will inevitably get it because he has scored more.
Corky Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 I'm really pleased his work has been noticed. I doubt his hard stats (goals and assists) are all that amazing and stand out but the way he controls games has been a major factor in our season. Hope he wins it.
StanSP Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 All 3 deserved for sure. Drinkwater has been so pivotal and instrumental in our victories. The cog in the midfield. Ings has been on fire either through goals/assists. Everyone thought Burnley would struggle without Austin. Ings (and Vokes) have come in and done the business. McCormack is probably the least deserving of the 3 but he's been the shining light in an inconsistent Leeds side. Has some purple patches but also has a couple of scoring droughts. For obvious reasons, that'd be my top 3 - Drinkwater, Ings, McCormack.
Fox92 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Good election there, can't argue with that. Tough choice as well. Drinkwater has been dominant for us, when he plays so do the team, but Ings has been sensational for Burnley.
C-man Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 If done on overall importance to the team, outright skill and taking games by the scruff of the neck thereby winning matches, I think DD wins hands down. If done on merely goals and assists then I think McCormack is well ahead of Ings, particularly given the tools he has around him. Having said that, I imagine it will be selected at a happy medium of the above which Ings will almost certainly win. His goals and partnership with Vokes has been a revelation in dragging Burnley to where they are. Wouldn't complain too much if he won - he's had a great season.
65RosesFox Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Why even bother listing McCormack? TBJS has more chance of being elected PM than him winning it PS if this happens im moving to North Korea Am I missing something here? Scored almost 50% of Leeds goals in the League, and is the League Top Goalscorer. Deserves his nomination. But Ings will probably win it. But pleased for DD for not going unoticed for everything he has done this season.
One Legged Beaver Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Well done Danny, fully deserved to be nominated and has been monumental for us this season. Vardy's unfortunate to miss out on a nomination but I can't really complain with any of the selections.
Turtles Head Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Milligan, Cleese, Everett. Sessions. Use your own name!
LCCFox96 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 In all honesty wearing my *shudder* impartial hat *shudder* I would give it to Danny Ings. Scored so many great goals and his link up play between attack and midfield (from what I've seen in the highlights) has been excellent. Impressive stuff from a young guy. I'd have absolutely no qualms if he won it. Obviously I'd love Drinkwater to get and he deserves it too. It's such a hard decision. They're both nailed on for team of the year though.
lcfcfan23 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 if we were to go up, would anyone take McCormack with us? have to pay a fair few million judging by the bids they rejected in january. some people dont seem to rate him, whereas others do. is there any other championship players you'd take with us?
Callabinho Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Nah, wouldn't cut it in the PL, far too slow we've seen many a player of his style flop in higher leagues.
Bryn Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Nah. He's decent and different to what we have but for the money I'd fancy someone better. Reckon we will go for largely foreign signings.
Haydos Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Nah, wouldn't cut it in the PL, far too slow we've seen many a player of his style flop in higher leagues. Wait, so the top scorer in the Championship wouldn't cut it in the Prem? You better be crossing your fingers for Nuge and Vardy then.
