Babylon Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Oh that explains it then... I hear he has a Nigerian passport.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 I can't make McCormack out. Sometimes he looks really good, at other times very very average. You can't knock his goals tally though in a pretty poor Leeds side. I do think Vardy would do better than McCormack in the Prem.
Xen Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 The Mirror is running a poll as to who people think will win it. It may well have been hijacked by Leicester fans (similar to how Knocky's goal was voted one of the best in Europe...), but right now it reads: Danny Drinkwater - 41% Ross McCormack - 35% Danny Ings - 24%
woddyuk Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Being neutral for a moment I'd have to say there wont be much between drinky and ings. Strikers usually get more attention so like others on here wouldnt be surprised or too upset if he won it.Don't even think McCormack should be on the shortlist after his unprofessional behaviour on deadline day with the media. Personally think Danny will just shade it
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 McCormack has been involved (goals/assists) in about three quarters of the goals Leeds have scored this season so he's been massive for them. Fans would probably vote for goalscorers but managers in the division (who probably think differently) vote for this which suggests Drinkwater might have a sniff. Doesn't really matter who wins it. We know how good our boy is, look at the league table etc.
cc_star Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 If it goes to a striker then it should be based on goals shouldn't it? Therefore McCormack should win it because he's scored more than Ings and in a poorer team too. I don't really see the logic in Ings winning it if he isn't top goalscorer. This! Drinkwater for me, whatever the opposition tactics he controls every single game
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 March 2014 Posted 15 March 2014 Drinkwater for me but no doubt it will obviously go to one of the strikers (probably ings)

foxfanazer Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Got to be Drinkwater. Fail to remember a player being so consistent for us! Top class Danny!

Snooty Fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Think Ings deserves it to be fair. We'd be up at the top without Drinkwater (Hammond and King covering) whereas Burnley would be fighting to secure a play off place without Ings. Drinkwater has had a very good season and both will be capable Prem players, but its Ings for me.

Anyone who's seen a game where Drinkwater has played badly (only been a few), knows how hard we've found it to play.

Leicester Lass Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 New chant if Drinkwater wins (could be used anyway I suppose). To 'He's got the whole world in his hands' We've got Danny Drinkwater in our team, and he's the best f**king player in the league, We've got Danny Drinkwater in our team, And he's the best player in the league.

Drinkwater has had a very good season and both will be capable Prem players, but its Ings for me. Total rubbish. The last 3 seasons with King a regular starter has proved this. With King, we're a side verging on the play offs or just inside them. Hammond is worse than King.
LAprice_ Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 It's crazy to think that we can run away with this league and yet not have any players with individual awards. The argument would always be that Ings and especially McCormack, are doing what they do in teams that are far weaker than Leicester. Drinkwater is surrounded by better players. That doesn't seem to prevent Messi and Ronaldo from winning awards though, so who knows!
TJB-fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Am I the only one who finds it bizarre that they give the award for player of the season now? If Ings got it, then his injury means hes ruled out for nearly a quarter of the season and McCormack scores 10 more than him that's hardly fair.

Snooty Fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 If you fellas think the difference between Drinkwater and Hammond/King would be >17 pts then youre deluded. Take the last game Drinkwater was rested (Millwall away) Hammond and King controlled the game. Though I do agree hes been our best player and won us points. Just not 17!
Uncle Monty Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Is anyone else watching the awards? Jesus it is embarrassingly bad, announcing winners at wrong points, talking over each other and making very bad jokes.

Drinkwater has controlled around 30 for us.
Danno Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 some of these people don't deserve to be in the same room as Danny.
