David Lowe Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Reading v Leicester televised match will now kick off at 8.07pm on 14th April. There will be a minutes silence before kick off to remember the Hillsborough tragedy.
Guest MattP Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Why not just bring the players out a minute earlier? Or why not just do it at 8 o' clock like we would do for Bradford, Heysal, Ibrox, Munich if we were on an anniversary for that date etc etc But no it's Liverpool, so the nation obviously has to join in with them wallowing in their own grief, this disaster is more important than anyone elses. We'll be doing 96 minutes silence for the 50 year one.
AndWhat? Kitchandro Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I couldn't care less about all this stuff tbh, that night could be all about promotion.
leicesterisme Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 What's the point of it really? Just have the minutes silence and get on with it.
Bert Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 7 minutes on an away day doesn't make the world of difference to me really. Can see why they'd do it for the 3pm kick offs on the Saturday though.
MPH Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Bunch of miserable buggers. It's 7 bloody minutes. No one is asking for your left gonad or anything.
One Legged Beaver Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 It was a truly tragic event and there is no getting away from that, but it was 25 years ago and not relevant to Leicester or Reading so why exactly the need for 7 minutes?
IOWFOX Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Whats the betting that people will miss trains home because of this.
Pegosteve Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I thought it was the 3.00pm kick offs as it was 3.07 when the tragedy happened what is the point of any other kick offs being delayed?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I'm sure it'd matter to you if you had lost a loved one in that disaster. If you don't like it don't go to that game
Raj Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I'm sure it'd matter to you if you had lost a loved one in that disaster. If you don't like it don't go to that gameDont think anyone would deny that...its tragic but so too was the bradford fire.. anyone remember that???...not as important cos it was only bradford fans??..
Raj Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Bunch of miserable buggers. It's 7 bloody minutes. No one is asking for your left gonad or anything.Again...its the sentiment behind it...hillsborough isn't our only footballing tragedy.
Voll Blau Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Hopefully seven minutes later at 20:14 Margaret Aspinall will flip her position on safe standing in commemoration of the fact that it's fvcking common sense to do so in this day and age.
foxsake Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Was hoping for an 8.08 kick off. Never mind, maybe next season.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Dont think anyone would deny that...its tragic but so too was the bradford fire.. anyone remember that???...not as important cos it was only bradford fans??..Who has ever said that the Bradford disaster isn't as important?Hillsborough was the worst and not to mention the government cover up
Agent Fox Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I am fed up of hearing about the Hillsborough disaster - It was 25 years ago. I've heard more about it than the World War... Sometimes, you just have to move on.
Guesty Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I think Hillsborough and Bradford are just as important and it's a disgrace one gets 90% more attention. The fact 96 people died at Hillsborough and 56 died at Bradford doesn't make it worse in my opinion - they're both as bad - it isn't a competition making one more important than the other. Both should be remembered equally. There was negligence in both cases - most fans died in the Bradford fire because the fire escapes were locked at the back of the stand. I also don't think it's unfair to say if it had been a bigger club than Bradford then it would be given much more attention. I don't mind this event as it's a special anniversary but there has to come a time where football moves on (but doesn't forget) and it's left to just Liverpool to have special events/memorials for Hillsborough. It just starts to come across as a token gesture by people who are pandering to grief junkies.
Haydos Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 I'm sure it'd matter to you if you had lost a loved one in that disaster. If you don't like it don't go to that game You're missing the point.
Jimmy Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 every game is doing it so top acting all hard done to, espeically when most of those bitching won't be going anyway
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Tough sh*t, it's happening, if you don't like it then tough titties
Raj Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 every game is doing it so top acting all hard done to, espeically when most of those bitching won't be going anywayif you read the replies you ll note no one is actually that bothered about the extra 7mins or the inconvenience it may cause..its more about the sentiment behind it.
crisp monster Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Very sad what happened but this tragedy seems to get all the exposure. Liverpool fans stand at every away game
