Leicester City v Yeovil Town Post Match Thread 1 - 1

Yeovil played at least as well as us. We had two clear chances - Vardy's miss and Mahrez's. They also had two, both early in the second half.

Morgans free header near the end, Philips fluffed a shot from five yards, James had a shot half a yard wide near the end, just because you keep saying we only had two chances it doesn't mean it's true.

In the first half we created a few. But in the second half we just whittled away time without threatening their goal properly until Schmeichel's header.

There's nothing wrong with saying that we didn't deserve a point. It doesn't make us bad supporters or mean that our season is going to fall apart. It simply means that Yeovil came here, did what they needed to do very well for 92 minutes whereas we weren't on our game and were lucky to salvage something at the end. Getting lucky doesn't mean that you deserve something.

Were we Yeovil fans walking away from that last night we'd feel we had done enough to deserve to win, and by the same measure there will be games where we walk away feeling we deserved more than we got.

Fans by their nature are tainted in their views. I'm happy to be quite objective about it. I remember walking away from Brammall Lane a few years ago when King scored a beauty to give us a 1-0 win. We had been battered for 80 minutes after that goal and how they didn't score was beyond me. It was absolute floodlight robbery and, whilst we had a bit of luck and something special had given us a goal, there is no way that we deserved to win that game!

You've completely contradicted yourself - so that Sheffield United game we didn't deserve to win because we were dominated, but we dominated Yeovil (near 70% possession and 31 shots don't lie) and they deserved to win?

Who was the player that ran out towards the ball, when they scored the free kick?

Was it Vardy, if so I hope he got a fookin bollocking, terrible play by him, if he stayed in the wall, he probably would of blocked it.

It's about the quality of chances and where you have that possession.

If by looking at stats you can conclude that a team has dominated another then having 20+ shots that narrowly miss the corner flag and 70% possession in your own half would equate to a domination. We did not dominate Yeovil last night. I'm not saying our shots were as wayward as narrowly missing the corner flag or that all of our possession was in our own half, as previously stated in the first half we had some good chances and weren't as bad as we were second half, but stats mean nothing compared to watching a game.

At Sheffield United that night the quality of chances they had were far better than anything we had last night. If you were to put a highlights package together of every notable attempt on goal last night, how many would you have from the second half? Schlupp's shot wide, Schemeichel's header and maybe one that Drinkwater had from 30 yards... I honestly can't think of any better chances we had. And Yeovil had at least two good chances in the second half themselves.

No way. There's a reason there's a runner out of the wall. Granted he should have blocked it, but his job was to run out, not to block in the wall. He's been told to run out, most likely.

James had a very similar effort from distance which Stech palmed away (better save than from Drinkwater). Morgan header wide from 6 yards, Phillips fluffing a clear left foot snap shot on the half turn from about 8 yards, James dribbling a shot wide from the edge of the area with which he really should have done better.

Yeovil definitely should have gone 2-0 up however, with those 2 chances for Miller.

Poor tactics then.

That was probably the thing that pissed me off the most last night.

I thought whoever that was, deserves a bollocking, thought it was horrendous judgment.

How is it poor tactics? He just didn't get the block on the shot. If the shot gets blocked it's a different story. Either way, it was Vardy.

Hardly a massive thing to get your knickers in a twist about though.

Cost us a goal though Sunil.

The way he charged at him, was pure stupidity mate.

But if you wanna disagree you can.

The worrying thing last night was that we were clueless going forward.

I think this was mainly due to Yeovil having a clear game plan and sticking to it. They made us look very ordinary because they would not allow themselves to be broken through.

That said, our midfield was clearly the problem. None of them played at all well and could not unlock the Yeovil defence.

It's not pure stupidity. Like Bert said, if he blocked it, it'd hardly be stupid. Did Drinkwater cost us a goal for giving away the foul? Did James cost us a goal for putting a misplaced pass to the Yeovil players? Did Kasper cost us their goal for not setting up the wall properly? Did the wall collectively cost us a goal for not being in the right position?

Not saying that these all can be blamed, but to pin it all on Vardy for doing what he's told (to run out), is not right, for me.

You're on your own again here. Only one person to blame for that free kick and that's Schmeichel, it's on his side, you wouldn't expect any keeper to let that in.

Anyway, we had enough chances yesterday to win 3 games, unfortunately some horrendous finishing, lack of composure and sound goalkeeping frustrated us. Credit to Yeovil who made it difficult but it really could have been 3-0 to us at half time. I honestly thought they were going to do a Forest on us, the classic old 1 shot 1 goal scenario from a set piece...

Also, I think that's the worst performance Drinkwater has put in all season. Misplaced pass after pass and it summed up his night when Mahrez took a throw in to him and he wasn't even watching. He was horrific last night, kind of shows that when DD doesn't perform then neither do we.

It just left me unimpressed, just the manner of the way he charged out, it looked pure stupid in my opinion. And mentioning Drinky, it was a silly free kick to give away in all fairness. If Vardy stayed where he was, that gap which the ball went through wouldn't of been there, so therefore it's down to Vardy.

Not sure if anyone has said it, but I wonder if not having Pearson on the training ground in the run up to this game affected the lads, we are 1 point closer to where we want to be, lets not beat ourselves up too much, there is a lot of clubs who would absolutely bite our hands off to swap positions with us. Roll on Saturday

I knew it would be, as I said prior to the game, and the result doesn't surprise me.

I think those people who predicted  a massive win, need to realise, that we are not invincible, and come down from cloud nine.

The wheel will probably fall off on Saturday, but let's hope not, as we need three points from this, to take the pressure off us.

You have a serious lack of football knowledge. Vardy would've been instructed to charge out! As Father Ted pointed out. It's Kaspers fault. It was a weak free kick with a bounce before it reached the goal. He should've saved it.

Hardly weak tbh.

Vardy created the gap, which the ball went through, so I'll put it down to him.

You can put it down to whoever you want.

I think you'll find you said it was poor tactics and I said it wasn't. That's not me saying it isn't a tactics thing.

We could have done better yesterday especially with our finishing and our performance on a whole. But, we need to be at our best when we play Burnley on Saturday if we want to win the Championship.
