Leicester City v Yeovil Town Post Match Thread 1 - 1

I couldn't believe my eyes.

This was the worst performance of a Leicester City team since... well, since last year against Barnsley away.

De Laet continued where he left off against Blackburn, the midfield never got into the game, tons of misled passes, poor ball control and thanks to non-existant feeds from the middle, our strikers never found into the game. Add to that an inability to string two passes together (particularly in the first half), atrocious hoof ball (excellent measure against a team consisting of about five or six players who are at least 6ft tall, eh?) and you ought to lose.

That we managed to scrape to a draw is mainly just down to... luck.

Each field player should kick himself good for quite a while now and take a deep look in the mirror.

None of you were good enough tonight.

Hope this acts as a wake-up call for the remaining nine games, and especially away to Burnley on Saturday.

A completely shambolic performance and we JUST avoided complete embarrassment.

Yeovil, as composed as they came to the King Power, mainly profited from our mistimed passes.

In essence, we made them look better than they really were.

Today shows how reliant we are on Drinkwater and James having a good game and running that midfield. If they have a bad game, everyone does. Drinkwater's distribution was quite poor and he and James had several misunderstandings where they either left the ball for each other, both went for it at the same time, or had no idea where the other one was. They have been terrific this season so far but when they are not clicking we struggle.

Buzzing for Kasper, quality header, such passion. He wanted to get a winner as well, ended the celebrations early to get the ball back to the centre spot and try to get another.

boss picture that. keeper scores an injury time equaliser and isn't arsed about celebrating, he wants to get back to his goal, kick off and get 2 more points :D

Great finish, but it was a wank game up until then. We didn't play well at all, and it was always going to be difficult to get back into it the longer the game went on.

Drinkwater and Vardy have both been below par in the last 3 so it's no surprise we haven't been as good. Knockaert wasn't having a great game but he moved into the middle towards the end and it's noticeable how much more effective he was there. It's a shame for him because, as a winger he might struggle in the Premier League, but we can't really make room for him in the middle the way things have gone for us.

Still, this is us out of form and we're still not losing. It bodes well but we'll need to play better against Burnley.

The atmosphere on midweek games is always dire and tonight was no different. Very disappointed in SK1, one great match v Charlton and since then it's been shit. We haven't built on it at all. I'm not quite sure what's happened to this group that was supposedly making that area it's own.

Anyway, looking forward to a massive game on Saturday, avoid defeat and we'll probably take the title. Exciting stuff.

Too much looking forward to the Burnley game I think. Cracking header though.

Nige will get the lads focused for Burnley, and I'm sure he will have no qualms tearing into them if needs be.

Poor performance yes but to suggest the draw was down to luck is rubbish.

We got a draw because the players never gave up and kept going right until the end.

The draw was down to grit and determination

Still don't get it why Pearson insisted on fielding the same starting eleven when after the Blackburn game, many of them were clearly very exhausted and/or disinterested.

Apart from Kasper's great header, another good thing to come out from tonight is that I'm still laughing at all the fans who left the game at around the 88th minute. lol

Of course it was down to luck. When's the last time you've seen a Leicester City keeper score a goal?

After a few shots on goal in the first half, we completely gave up playing football in exchange for almost never-ending table tennis.

Shocking performance. Like I said in all the build up threads, anyone expecting a walkover will be sorely disappointed and is showing their lack of understanding about how football works. They got their goal, parked the bus and we hadn't got an end product to get past it.

Dyer MUST start against Ipswich and I hope to God Wood isn't credited with that goal because he's the most ineffectual striker we've had since De Vries. He can't control it, his distribution is shit and I don't think I've even seen a 6 foot striker beaten in the air as often as him.

Also can someone put a rocket up De Laet's arse. He's been in a dreamland for 3 or 4 weeks and looks like a man who thinks his place is reserved.

Kasper, Wasyl and Dyer were probably the only player to come away from that with any credit.

Are people fooking stupid! 18 games unbeaten and its the end of the world because we drew a game, get a grip!!!

To each their own. I was there tonight and it felt as if I was in a different film.

Unbeaten record=great

Tonight's game=ultra-dire, with a bit of luck flocking in in our favour towards the very end.

Haha, yes, the exodus started in the 81st minute and H and J were half empty when the goal went in. Still, they all got home 5 minutes early, which is obviously the most important thing.......

Don't agree with this, he defended superbly tonight, and I'm one of his biggest critics about his defensive skills.

Won a lot of key tackles second half.

Hey be fair, if they'd stayed for those extra five minutes then their kids could have been trampled to death by a herd of unruly football fans.

A truly abysmal game of football, Yeovil came to tread on our toes and did so effectively. Closed us down very quickly and didn't let us get the ball out wide and didn't let Danny or James have a chance to get control of the ball. Had Vardy put that unmissable chance away then I am sure the floodgates would have swung open, instead the game turned into a scrappy mess of long ball after long ball and we were frustrating ourselves by giving the ball away constantly. I thought De Laet was truly awful today, some of his passes were completely brain dead. We best buck our ideas up on Saturday, Burnley's physical presence worries me, and I think it could help them pip us to top spot.

No we didn't. We had enough chances to warrant a draw.

Can't stand the negativity on here at times. Yes, we were poor. I've never seen so many misplaced passes. But we kept going and got something from the game.

He was pretty much useless in the first half and only improved his game as the end was approaching. I remember him putting about five to six successive headers out for Yeovil throw-ins, which I found very frustrating. And he, alongside Wasilewski, was the main source of useless hoofballs coming out of our half.

If it hadn't been for Yeovil's brilliant free-kick, we had enough chances to win it, yes! But we didn't.

We were completely complacent in front of goal and that general careless attitude was really shocking.

Negativity where negativity is due. The general feedback on here since the away win at Middlesbrough has been (very) positive.

So, you'll excuse a head-check by some fans when we're playing badly for once.

I agree, De Laet was absolutely shit tonight.

Just seen the match stats: we had a reported 67% posession and 31 shots on goal!

Credit to Yeovil, though. They showed as much resilience as any side to vist the KP this season. Battled from start to finish and put their bodies on the line. I hope they stay up based on this evening.

Just got he from work. Were we as bad as people are saying?

Yes, we were awful.

Only other performance as bad as today this season was Doncaster away.

Before that, you're looking at Barnsley last season for when we were so poor.

Yep, but it's hardly the end of the world. We're still in a great position, will almost certainly be promoted, clear favourites for the title and on course to beat our unbeaten record.
