Dickov22 Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Just got he from work. Were we as bad as people are saying? No. Misplaced passes, too much hoof ball, lack of clinical finishing but still created enough chances. Denied a stonewall pen on Vardy too. Yeovil played well and defended superbly.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 On a positive note, I thought Wes had big Miller pretty much in his pocket, limiting him to just one decent shot. I'm surprised at the criticism for RDL. Defensively he was much better tonight. And things turned when Lloyd came on IMO. Suddenly we had pace again down the flank. Finally, I like Schlupp. For me, he again was one of our best players. The midfield today was the problem. They neither stopped Yeovil from charging through nor created anything for the strikers. James was ineffectual and Drinkwater's passing was abysmal.
Dickov22 Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 I agree, De Laet was absolutely shit tonight. Alan Young gave him MOTM. I'd say De Laet, Knockaert and Schlupp were our better players this evening.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 27 shots according to the BBC website.
Dickov22 Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 If it hadn't been for Yeovil's brilliant free-kick, we had enough chances to win it, yes! But we didn't. We were completely complacent in front of goal and that general careless attitude was really shocking. Negativity where negativity is due. The general feedback on here since the away win at Middlesbrough has been (very) positive. So, you'll excuse a head-check by some fans when we're playing badly for once. Who displayed a 'careless attitude' ?
Guest ttfn Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Really poor tonight and if ever proof were needed that our tempo is set by the men up front then today was it. Vardy and Nugent both looked half asleep throughout; Vardy's effort after 2 minutes really was a microcosm of the rest of the game - we didn't look switched on at all until the last 10 minutes. Vardy needs to be told that it is not the end of the world now if he gets suspended. He needs to be running around, harrying defenders because it sets the tempo for the rest of the team and forces the opposition into errors. Given that the potential suspension is clearly playing on his mind, you'd have hoped Nugent would pick up the baton as he has done in Vardy's absence this season but he was as lethargic as he has been in weeks. We looked like a team of strangers in the second half and regardless of how close we are to promotion this must be treated as a wake-up call for the players. James and Drinkwater were atrocious for the first 80 minutes and King and Hammond must be wondering what on earth James and Drinkwater needed to do wrong today for them to get on the pitch. Perhaps they were saved by the poverty of the 2 up front. As a team the persistence with launching the ball onto the heads of two giant centre backs was baffling in the extreme. A very frustrating evening which I think most had marked out as "one of those days" from Vardy's bizarre miss after 2 minutes. The difference is that past City teams would have been beaten, but in Schmeichel we have a genuine winner. He might not be perfect as a goalkeeper but he has a fantastic winning mentality which would be a big miss next season if he were to leave.

Callabinho Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Alan Young gave him MOTM. I'd say De Laet, Knockaert and Schlupp were our better players this evening. De laet made a few good desperation tackles, other than that his passing, and anticipation of the game was piss poor tonight, Knockaert may as well have not been on the field for 60 minutes, he did nothing but give the ball away. Schlupp I agree with, he had another brilliant game.
DennisNedry Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 I can't understand why Nige didn't rest a few players today. The same 11 for so many games has ran them into the ground. I just hope we up our game for Burnley. A performance like today will see us beaten heavily.
cjslcfc Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Alan Young gave him MOTM. I'd say De Laet, Knockaert and Schlupp were our better players this evening. Agree with that. Knockaert took the game by the scruff of the neck when we were struggling. He was wanting the ball, running at them, picking the ball up in all sorts of areas. We seriously underestimated Yeovil tonight. As much as we played hoofball and were poor, their tactics forced us to do so. They just looked that bit quicker and more hungry to get the ball tonight. They swarmed around us as soon as we got the ball. Poorest performance for a long time. Hopefully a kick up the backside for Saturday. Play like that then and we will get tonked as Burnley are a very good side. I have every confidence we will though. Maybe the players were thinking about that game tonight. Can be the only reason I see for such an abject performance - complacency. On to Saturday
Callabinho Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 In all honestly, taking all the factors of the last few games into consideration I think that the players are on their knees. Drinkwater looked bolloxed tonight, as did Vardy.
Leicesterpool Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Blimey that was horrible! Not one not two not even three but nine players were having a poor game! Credit to Yeovil they came and almost completed there mission in coming down and frustrating leicester. The only thing that got in there way was Kasper! Pulled off some good saves but the idea of half scoring the goal is just bizzare. To be honest we probably deserved to lose tonights game, we just didn't look at it! thank god leicester's motto still remains "Foxes Never Quit!" I've got to say the tactics we've been using most of the season are starting to grow stale, we seen a few problems on saturday maybe that was the early warning signs, tonight would have been a great opportunity to rest a few players and give some players game time. But anyway trying not to sound to negative we're still 18 unbeaten! Also If Vardy had put away that chance in the first three minutes I do believe we'd now be talking about a 4-0 win!
kingfox Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 He was pretty much useless in the first half and only improved his game as the end was approaching. I remember him putting about five to six successive headers out for Yeovil throw-ins, which I found very frustrating. And he, alongside Wasilewski, was the main source of useless hoofballs coming out of our half. First half maybe so, but they were all shocking first half, apart from Schlupp in my opinion. Second half they were also poor, but I thought the defence did really well, De Laet made some excellent tackles my end, and stood up to Yeovil when they attacked. I probably shouted "well in De Laet", "well played De Laet" about 10 times second half, and I don't usually.
foxoffderby Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Nugent Morgan Drinkwater James De Leat Knocky Mahrez all poor tonight. Jeff played very well. Kasper was a star

I feel that with Vardy, we have realised that you can knock the ball long and he can make something out of nothing by chasing after it. However, we're now overusing that, and knocking it long too often. Instead of using it as plan B, we're playing our final hand too early. We need to remember that it's good, short passing and movement which has got us where we are, with the strikers being bale to hold it it up.
Brooksy Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Shocking. Thank fvck for Kasper. The winner of Saturdays game will win the title I reckon.
GingerrrFox Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 People talk about not changing a winning side but expecting players to give 100% 2-3 matches every 7 days is always gonna be a struggle. Drinkwater looked absolutely shagged tonight and seemed to be treading water at one point. It's not his fault. He needs a rest. Tonight was the perfect opportunity to freshen up the squad after a lacklustre performance on Saturday and we missed it. Players like Moore, King, Wood, Hammond, Dyer and Phillips are chomping at the bit for games and it would have allowed the likes of Drinkwater, Nugent, Vardy, James, De Laet and Knockaert the chance to be fresher for Saturday.

Bert Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I'm just delighted Wood followed up - what all good strikers do else we'd be staring a defeat in the face. We were poor tonight. Let's hope we bounce back on Saturday.
Dickov22 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I'd say 31 shots and 66% possession in such a poor performance from us shows how bloody good we are. Resilience personified. Still get something when you're playing crap
5waller5 Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 We weren't fantastic and the passing seemed a bit wayward ... The team seemed a bit flat and lacking energy - possibly they are knackered and needed a few fresh faces. But I thoroughly enjoyed the game ... How can you not with that finale!!??
Dan Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 Football for me is about moments like that equaliser - this season is delivering the magic time and time again and that is about the only scenario I can think of where I would possibly not be livid with a point at home to Yeovil. In the bigger picture of the season, it's a massive two points dropped and we've actually opened up a title race - and if we make as many individual errors on Saturday as we have tonight and against Blackburn, then we can forget about making it 19 unbeaten. We are going to need to seriously improve on Saturday. Burnley are taking apart everything in their path lately just like we were a week ago. Complacency totally crept in tonight for me. The amount of individual errors, misplaced passes and carelessness was horrendous. But, for all of the frustration - you cannot knock the determination of this side for one second. Mahrez has seriously impressed me lately - but it was the other Frenchman who impressed me tonight. He was absolutely everywhere. The work rate was phenomenal from both sides tonight. Yeovil - I wonder if the fact they are the smallest club I have seen at this level clouds my view on them, but I really do think based on tonight it'll be cruel on them if they go down. They did a real job on us tonight but just couldn't hold out. Despite being the top scorers in the league, we're actually still a very wasteful team in my opinion.
