Nigel Pearson: I would go into trenches with my Leicester City players

Pearson can't manage big names... like Danns, Beckford and Mills.

Not really big names though were they, as proven by where they are currently at!  Overpriced, overpaid ego's maybe, but you can harldy call them big names.

I may be wrong, but I think the post was ironic...

The majority of you lot will more than likely disagree with me, there are a few similarities between Leicester and Liverpool this season.

Top of both leagues, play the best football in each league, youngish managers, not spent an awful amount of money on last seasons squads (compared to others), used minimal number of players, team spirit and chemistry are fantastic and the fans believe in our players and our managers. Brilliant to see.

Can't really argue with much of that to be honest. Both teams' football has been a joy to watch at times this season. Both sides have superb striking partnerships too. Last time Leicester won the first division title, Liverpool won the league! Another similarity!

I see your point but certain players have made Liverpool this season - every player has made Leicester, I seriously can't pick one or two

I listened to Stringer's post Wigan match interview with Pearson. One sentence he said really stood out to me, which tallies very well with the OP of this thread, "We now have a really good group of people". I believe you can only get a group like that after a couple of years of stability. I am so glad our owners learned from the instability of what chopping and changing managers does to a team. Pearson has also put a marker down for any 'big time Charlie' who wants to come to our club. Leave your ego at the door and get your nose down.

In response to 'Grandad' though, I wonder how Big Nige would have coped with the antics of Suarez agitating for a move away if were the manager of Liverpool. The ability to skilfully manage difficult players and then bring out the best of them must take a lot of practice and patience!

Fair, but in the same breath if it hasn't been Suarez winning us important games, we've had Sturridge, Coutinho, Sterling, Gerrard and even Henderson (Swansea at home) winning us vital games. Skrtel has been a rock in make shift defences all season, Mignolet first day of the season saving us three points v Stoke with a last minute penalty save.

I like the fact the last time you boys won the Division 1 title Liverpool won the League also, here's hoping.

I saw on Twitter another Pearson comment which really struck a chord with me. Not sure if it was as part of the Stringer interview though...

'Ability is not enough. Neither is spirit. But a blend of both gives you a great chance of success'.

So true.

If what he's done here is anything to go by, he'd have sold him to Bolton and signed a better cheaper replacement. :D

Loving this even more so I see managers like Jose Mourinho making comments that slag his own players off.

Please can somebody photoshop an image of this happening?

If we go up, we will need some fairly big names, so should this be the case, then it will be interesting to see how Pearson handles them.

I will say no more at this stage, so I'll enjoy the rest of this season.

Even when Nige has signed players that he thought would do well for us, he shipped them out without hesitation!! Ben Marshall.......Big names wont scare our Nige!!!

What is going on at our club is something special, I hope the powers that be truly understand that.

When has Pearson failed to cope with a big name?

He seems to be absolutely fine with Konchesky (Premier League player, Europa League finalist, England caps), Nugent (FA Cup winner, England caps and goals), Solano (Premier League player, Champions League participant, many international caps).

He hasn't, it's a myth created by people who wanted a stick to beat him with. He deals with bad attitude however by drop kicking any offending players to bolton.

When you have success the media and fans from other clubs will often create myths about your club, to try and unsettle the club and side, it's even better when you can go 20 games without defeat or an 8 game winning streak in my teams case and you can just laugh at the drivel that is spouted.

He also has a Special Forces soldier - WAS !  "You insult my boss you insult me.....!". There is an obvious love in between them.

Strong statement and says everything about the togetherness at the club.

NP and Wasyl in the trenches would scare me shitless if I was an enemy solider!
