midland_red Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 At last the wait is over – after 10 long years of hurt Leicester Tigers have finally returned to the Premier League. The celebrations began as soon as the final whistles blew on QPR's and Derby's defeats on Saturday. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/here-we-go/story-20922050-detail/story.html do they really not know the diffference between City and Tigers ????????????
Corky Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Jamie Vardy got his 16th try of the season at Blackburn.
Jimothy Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Shit we should have kept Waghorn! Think of all the conversion we're missing out on!
midland_red Posted 7 April 2014 Author Posted 7 April 2014 they have just corrected it in the story but not on the front page!! mockery.doc
OzFox Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Not all that surprising. Mistakes like that pop up all the time on the Beeb, let alone the Mercury. Probably some over-worked, underpaid teenager or someone at the end of a 16 hr day. Or a complete moron.
Thracian Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 You can only imagine circulation continuing to fall. Do they even bother with sub-editors anymore?
Babylon Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 The bloke who wrote it has only been there for 10 years...
One Legged Beaver Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Well we did play at Welford Road according to the BBC earlier in the season......
Dan Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 The amount of basic errors like that never fail to amaze me, but that's hilarious. What were they thinking? Do people never check things anymore? (No doubt I've made an error in this somewhere)
Woollett's Wellies Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 Did anyone else read the original piece with the supposed 'fan quotes' and think that at a time that Leicester as a city are celebrating a notable success, why would you include comments from someone who couldn't care less and a miserable sod who thinks we'll come straight down again! For **** sake Mercury! Feel the mood and then write the article!
Stadt Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 It's even more disappointing when there's some very good writers on here that are probably better. The Filbo Spirit lad(s) write very well and I'd actually enjoy reading the Mercury if they covered the lcfc stuff.
