Number 6 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 "Promotion at last...quick where's my stabbing knife" Don't go outside folks, it's dangerous out there.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Lets face facts..basically the whole country for one reason or another hate the coppers and they wonder why.. To make a ridiculous and uninformed trash statement like that, shows your intellectual capacity to be a big ZERO.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 The power as you call it is getting more and more taken away each day to the red tape and PC policies etc. I have never once felt I have the right to dominate anybody and I am no better then you, joe blogs or the little old man down the road. Most people who seem to have such hatred for the police have obviously had a run in with them in the past and now label all of us the same. police don't get to pick and choose who we turn up to when a house has been robbed or domestic violence is happening or some crazy idiot is drink driving with no license or insurance and ends up crashing into you. Somebody has to do the thankless job we do otherwise there would be anarchy in the world. Police don't always get it right. Ie the disturbing heavy presence at the game tonight as some felt it was. We as officer don't get to say how many are out on the streets and where. We have our briefing and follow the orders as were told to. I'm sorry you have such negative feelings towards us. Maybe you would prefer life with no law and order. Well said. The people who hate the police, are usually the ones who have committed offences, been caught, and duly punished. If it was them who were on the wrong end of a crime, they would come out of the woodwork like the rats they are, and blubber themselves silly to the police.
ADK Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 I wondered how long it would be before DT came into this topic and answered each and every one of the posts with any anti police sentiment.
Guest MattP Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 The Andrew Mitchell case really did damage the force among the law abiding middle classes. It was only a handful of people though.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Does this country actually still have people that trust the words and actions of coppers? Fcuk sake, they openly co-ordinated a smear campaign and lied about a politician who was a member of the cabinet to get him sacked, if they can do that to an elected representative of the government just imagine what they actually think of you as an ordinary citizen and would do to you. Never get yourself into a situation with a policeman on your own with no cameras, I've seen what can happen. "dissuading a fan from getting himself arrested" - In the same way an American soldier persuades a 5 year old Iraqi into democracy. Ah! Now I see you in your true sad colours. What an ignorant excuse for a human being you must be. Posters like you, I wouldn't trust inch. Something of a skeleton in your cupboard, no doubt.
Harry - LCFC Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Yeah Matt, fvcking murderer! Stay away, children! Stay away!

Monsell1976 Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Well said. The people who hate the police, are usually the ones who have committed offences, been caught, and duly punished. If it was them who were on the wrong end of a crime, they would come out of the woodwork like the rats they are, and blubber themselves silly to the police. Never used the word hate towards the police, been the victim of crime and police did bob all except gave me a crime number and didn't bother attending, I have never been in trouble with the police and have no criminal record.I have worked within the criminal justice system for well over a decade, and find the police officers in general arrogant, ignorant, and only interested in the upper end of the crime scale, or which ever crime makes the stats look better. The reason some people hate the police as you put it, is for me all of the above, and I believe a lot think they are above the law they are paid to uphold. You use the word hate, I say a large percentage have just lost faith in the police as an institution, after endless scandals, corruptions and cover ups, in the likes of the Hillsborough disaster etc, so a lot of people believe if they are breaking the law and lying in the big issues, what chance have us common people have. The police have serious work on their hands to repair the loss of faith by the public, and I guess even politicians, after they even lied to frame a top politician, this has to start by treating people with respect, and especially at football not just make assumptions that everybody is a thug or criminal, and lose the I'm superior than you attitude and arrogants, and then maybe people will appreciate what they do.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Makes me laugh how often people to try to simplify what a pitch invasion is. Of course it isn't "just a bit of grass." You know full well it's not and it's just pure falsehood to try and say it is. Anyway, you not seeing the appeal of it isn't a good argument for others not going ahead with it. You have to tell us what damage it causes, if there is none then there's really no reason for it not to go ahead. Err! The pitch IS only a piece of grass, or do you see it as the promised land or something? Like it or not, Harry, "Health and Safety" is the main issue, here.

Like it or not, Harry, "Health and Safety" is the main issue, here. I'm yet to be convinced that a pitch invasion is a major threat to health and safety, nor have we heard any good examples of previous pitch invasions leading to people getting injured. I'm willing to listen but I haven't heard anything substantial yet.
brisfox Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 I have to say that I agree with Monsell1956. I have had to deal with Police on many occasions, sometimes when I have been a witness, they have been fine, when I have helped them, they have been grateful. However at football matches, generally they treat the ordinary member of the public like dirt, they assume we are all criminals and treat us accordingly. The police want respect, but it cuts both ways. Treat us well, we will do the same. I have to say that Tuesday night was a real own goal for the club and especially Leicestershire Police.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Are police uniforms your fetish or why do you react in such reactive manner to people who are sceptic of the police? It's not mere scepticism that some people are showing though. It goes way beyond that.
Buce Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Are police uniforms your fetish or why do you react in such reactive manner to people who are sceptic of the police? I'd have thought the tone of his posts would have made it obvious to you. He's ex Old Bill.

Monsell1976 Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Bloody hell talking about tarring everybody with the same brush bloody hell MonseySorry mate that's how I see it, only had one good experience with a police officer, when I broke down on the way to the Bournemouth game, the man spoke to me as a fellow human, nothing was to much trouble, to the extent I wrote to his force to praise him, sure there are more like him, but in my experience very few and far between.Sadly then blackburn away I met a very rude and arrogant officer, who basically took the piss out of my disability, because nerve damage from cancer treatment isn't visible, he stood and had a good laugh with his colleague after he took the piss, because I asked to stand in the stairwell until a corner had been taken, he basically made out I was blagging it, and unfortunately his type of attitude and arrogants seems the norm in my opinion.

Very recent example - Steward trampled by a horse at Deepdale. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2385085/Steward-trampled-police-horse-Preston-victory-Blackpool-Deepdale.html
Livid Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 This planned pitch invasion was all over the Internet. The police have the internet. Invading the pitch is against the law. It is the police's job to uphold the law. They turned up enmasse, for a crowd of 30000, and ensured the law wasn't broken. Job done! They were never going to send a couple of specials along to deal with it. They ignore it, some kid gets trampled on, they get crucified. Not going to happen.

Hooligans.
Foxhateram Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Has anyone thought of the implications on the grass if we pitch invade. We like to play quick, attacking, passing football if you all go on and tear it up when we still have games to play at the kp, then it won't support that type of play. Wait till Doncaster then we can do wtf we want. We're leicester city, we'll do what we want!

People are still missing the point completely in regards to the police. The football club is responsible for keeping order inside the stadium, hence the stewards. If the club aren't happy they can achieve this on their own, they meet with the police and arrange police officer deployment for that match, depending on the likelihood of disorder. The police didn't just turn up out the blue to the Brighton match to stop a pitch invasion. The club would have requested, and paid for, all those police officers like they do at the end of every season. Its all very well and good people moaning and bitching about the police, but they were just following orders from "a customer" i.e. the club, just as anyone else would in their job. If people want someone to moan about, moan about Barclay etc. LCFC were the ones that decided the fans weren't going on the pitch.

I know a lot can't stand Barclay but at the end of the day he is just an employee doing his job. He can't just ignore the law. Someone gets injured or worse and Barclay would be carrying the can. That pitch isn't like the old one at Filbo where they just threw down some turf, it's a horticultural masterpiece. I don't think they would really welcome a few thousand trampling all over it or ripping bits up for personal souvenirs.
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Very recent example - Steward trampled by a horse at Deepdale. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2385085/Steward-trampled-police-horse-Preston-victory-Blackpool-Deepdale.html There's a perfectly good solution to that one. In that case it wasn't the pitch invasion itself that caused harm, it lead to it of course but it could easily have gone ahead without any problems.
