At no point did I say that I thought all police were like this. However I make no apologies for what I said, the officers Ginger described sound like very unpleasant individuals. I'd go further and say they actually have a mental deficiency, it isn't at all healthy to think as they do.

Have a word with yourself pal. He described a copper dissuading a fan from getting himself arrested, and another who was directing his team.

Of course he used descriptive writing to make it sound worse than it was.

And this is all without context of the behaviour of those in L1 of course.

Oh I'm sorry, threatening violence isn't acceptable in my book. I guess I'll go and give myself a strong dressing down for holding such a awful point of view.

Touching a weapon as if to use it and telling someone to "try it" is dissuading a fan from getting arrested? Funny because to me and everyone around me at that time it was apparent that he was goading the lad into trying to get onto the pitch and seeing what would happen as a consequence.

Does this country actually still have people that trust the words and actions of coppers? lol

Fcuk sake, they openly co-ordinated a smear campaign and lied about a politician who was a member of the cabinet to get him sacked, if they can do that to an elected representative of the government just imagine what they actually think of you as an ordinary citizen and would do to you.

Never get yourself into a situation with a policeman on your own with no cameras, I've seen what can happen.

"dissuading a fan from getting himself arrested" - In the same way an American soldier persuades a 5 year old Iraqi into democracy.

Im guessing the fan was a polite old gentlemen with a walking stick right?

Police tend to react to assholes by being an asshole.

They have authority, the sooner you come to terms with that the sooner you will realise why some act like they do.

The irony here is that im as bad as anyone when it comes to generalising coppers, i hate being told what to do, have had run ins and also have a slight problem with authority.

But forgive me for not believing this 'Oooh, we are the victims here' bullshit that comes from football fans. They're honestly the most precious bunch of people.

To me it would seem the hierarchy of fault for the Brighton game policing.

1) Leicester City Football Club

2) Fans who openly announce they plan to commit an illegal act

3) Police

I was in SK1 tonight for the game. I thought that the Police totally over reacted and made the situation much worse than it needed to be.The Police, on the whole, do a difficult job well, however, policing at tonight's game was very heavy handed. The prevailing attitude was that they,(the Police),seemed to regard all supporters as hooligans. Well, I am not a hooligan, have never been arrested and am a law abiding citizen. The Police do so with the consent of the wider community, they rely on the public's support. Tonight was a big own goal. In short, they ticked alot of people off. They seem to have learnt nothing from Hillsborough. The cause of that disaster was down to a number of high ranking officers misinterpreting panic for public disorder, they thought fans were all yobs. The Police regard all fans as trouble makers and until that attitude changes, they will have the potential for disaster. After the game I spoke to a number of officers, they were arrogant towards me and did not listen to what I had to say with anything but distain. One threatened to arrest me for calling him a copper. Pathetic.

He was a Tory, he had it coming.  :P

However...they did also orchestrate a massive coverup regarding incompetency that directly or indirectly led to the death of 96 people, so there you go.

I do have a natural distrust of authority figures I don't know personally, so I'm with you on that. Some coppers abuse their power just like other people with power do. As for the actual situation last night...surely it's a better idea to hold a promotion party on the final home game of the season (with possible pitch invasion) like we did when we went up from League 1? Don't see the point of crashing the pitch when the season isn't done yet.

I can see why Watford had a pitch invasion when they scored the last minute goal against us, I can see why Man City fans had a pitch invasion when they beat QPR... But I can't see why we would have had one last night? The celebration of promotion happened when we didn't play? A pitch invasion is a spur of the moment "WOOOOOW we have just been promoted" not a planned occasion lol... If we win the league whilst we are playing I can see a pitch invasion happening but it would of been weird last night!

The thing that irritated me the most was they felt the need to have a line of coppers on the stairs to the right of L1 despite the fact that the next block was Leicester fans. Totally over the top.

As a club have we REALLY got this pathetic?

"IM GOING ON THE PITCH" .... Then cry when they cant.. That's seriously the highlught of your season to spend a few minutes on the pitch after a 4-1 loss?

Absolutely no doubt it will happen at doncaster, but I've not seen the end of it, Fcuk sake... The best season in 10 years and we are still crying over something, it's an absolute embarrassment....

I can understand that it's frustrating, and yes its a nice touch to a good season, but after a 4-1 loss on a tuesday night are you serious?

Grow up for **** sake. seriously embarrassing for the people tweeting, Facebooking and calling in.

****ing fans think they own the club

It's easy to say it was a 4-1 loss and our fans are an embarrassment for trying to get on to the pitch for five minutes but at the end of the day the police presence Is going to be the same if not greater for our remaining home fixtures. We've been promoted regardless of last nights score, so of course fans still want to celebrate.

If you don't want to go on the pitch then don't. Simple.

Pitch invasions happen up and down the country in every league when a team is promoted! If that's how fans choose to celebrate then so be it. Personally I don't see why our club try to suck all of the fun out of supporting our club 😒

Don't think any football club has gone to such lengths to stop a pitch invasion.

I bet Barclay was smashing one out last night as L/K failed to get on the pitch.

A planned pitch invasion

4 days AFTER promotion

after losing 4-1

yes lets moan about the club not letting fans do something ILLEGAL

Embarrassing. Why waste the pitch invasion now when we can save it for when we win the league (hopefully).

Also a pitch invasion when were playing and full time whistle goes and we win the league. Its supposed to be spontaneous

Talking of perspective, how about you read your 2nd paragraph again and ask yourself if it's really as good as you kids are making it out to be. I'm 24 by the way and enjoy a laugh and crazy night as much as anyone, running on a pitch does not constitute this. I'd rather see the players that have earned this reward parade around the pitch than you lot in your nike air max's on the pitch looking utterly clueless what to do next.

lol

Where in my post did it say that I wanted to go on the pitch. I wasn't bothered either way, if people were on I'd have followed, why not?! But I wasn't down at the front trying to push past stewards to get on.

I don't understand why the club feel the need to put all of this effort into stopping it however, just as I don't understand why people like yourself think it's so ridiculous or dangerous.

If we're talking perspective then you referring to people as 'crazy kids' in one sentence then revealing yourself to be 24 in the next probably needs some as well

I suppose another point is that people think this is something that was justifiable from the club because we'd been promoted 4 days ago and they didn't think we should invade the pitch.

Say next season it's Leicester vs West Brom at home on the last day and winner stays up, what do you think will happen?

That there'll be no police coming out to line the pitch because 4 days haven't passed since the event?!

We all know full when that in that situation, 10 minutes from time the police would be out. That the club in preparation for every eventuality will have dug deep to pay extortionate amounts for copious police round the pitch. Someone scores a last-minute winner to keep us up? You'll not be going on the pitch and scenes we've seen like at The Hawthorns when West Brom beat the drop against all odds, with players and fans celebrating together, will not be seen in Leicester.

So what do all of the "I want to see my lap of honour" and "I want to see the corporate trophy presentation" brigade think of that? When there's no trophy to be presented and no lap of honour do you suddenly think that the club will allow you to celebrate then? Judging by last night it will be "thank you for your support, season tickets on sale now, see you next season".

Disgraceful, of I end up with hundreds of coppers again dictating what I do at my home ground which they never ****ing turn up too most of this year then I'm rioting! Haha ***** **** off club aswell they really do hate us, it's like making Austen Clark coach fans pay to park at the KP because they're not using fox ravel, they don't give 2 shits about fans, money money money arse holes

Not sure if it's already been suggested, but can't all the fans who want to put on their replica shirts and run around hugging each other get together on Victoria Park, say on Saturday afternoon?

Then they can argue about who loves City most, who's the best fan and who sings the loudest at home matches. It would save about five or six threads of effort

Best season in 10 years and the club/$ky have done all they can steralise it all. I can accept there's a lot of morally bankrupt nonsense in football nowadays but I'm sorry, we have waited YEARS for this. There are some absolute miserable scum bastards polluting both the club and the sport by taking out their own problems on everyone wanting to actually enjoy themselves.

It'll be the same bollocks against QPR and the same bollocks against Doncaster.

Agree they have done all they can to steralize it, BUT

I think its obvious they wont be able to stop it at a sell out against doncaster with 32,500 fans bombing on...

Just could not believe how many people were ringing in, tweeting, Facebooking, and on here screaming and shouting at the club, after a 4-1 loss on a tuesday night against brighton when we won promotion 4 days previous...

+ I had to give my ticket away as I couldnt get to the match in time in the end!

IT WILL HAPPEN AT DONNY.

Until then our fans need to give it a rest

Not sure if anyone saw the pitch the day after stoke got promoted? Fans had absolutely ruined the surface... Idiots were digging up pieces of bloody turf to take home....

No way would Leicester let that happen with home games to go....
