How do our exciting youth prospects turn out? Hamza is highly rated by my coaches I think, what are the black stars about?

He's been knocking about the conference on mine forb3 seasons. Done well but still only getting a loan to conference.

The black stars are maybe up to them, but you will get a more accurate rating if you have better coaches/scouts or scout the player more times.

The central midfield pairing in a 442 needs to be quite disciplined, the lack of players in the AM and DM strata can be compensated for by playing higher up and so the players are closer together.

You need movement elsewhere because your midfield are relatively static, a widemidfielder on attack will break the lines and get into the box, you need a Treq, DLF or false 9 upfront to drop into the space in front of the midfield too.

Agreed. My first season with Colchester is going very well (2nd in League 1 currently). I have a high defensive line, Massey on winger (attack) with the left-mid on support. I have Will Keane as a F9! I'm quite happy as I like 442 and my previous few saves on FM, I've been struggling to get the "perfect 442". IT appears I've found the right tactics.

knockynice, don't get complacent though because teams will give you more respect and become more defensive.

Hamza Choudry is now in the prem on loan to Wigan 4 seasons in.

My Cov team at the moment, 8th in league one after 11 games:

GK - Ian McLoughlin - I signed this guy when at Luton, they sold him here at some point

DR - Jordan Willis

DC - Bill Holloway - on loan from Manchester City, dubbed the next John Terry

DC - Reda Johnson

DL - Ryan Haines/Shane Griffin

All on defend duty.

DMC support - Conor Thomas

AMR support - Jim O'Brien/Cameron Stewart. Stewart was on loan in the conference last season with decent stats???????

MC attack - Liam Kelly on loan from Reading

MC DLP - John Fleck

AML attack - Armand Traore

STC - Defensive forward - Dean Rittenberg on loan from Blackburn

I've gutted my backroom staff and signed some with much better stats. Really enjoying FM now!

2nd season and Choudhury is rated a good league 1 player with potential to be good premier league midfielder. Also I've had 2 careers with Leicester on this and both times I've had a lad come through the academy with 5 star potential, in fact the first save I had 2 of them, one dubbed the next Frank Lampard. We must've had our youth setup upgraded on this version.

Posted

I looked in the editor a while back, I think our academy was 13/14 with our coaching being about the same

Posted

I have never once had a player of any significant worth come through at Leicester. Never ever.

I must've been incredibly lucky then. The year when I had 2 Prem quality prospects was with Rudkin as Head of Youth, though the 2nd time I replaced him with Cannon from Reading I believe

Posted

Either luck or you're doing something better than me but I'm not sure. I tend to improve youth facilities, junior coaching and junior recruitment ASAP and make sure that I add "gives opportunities to young players" a philosophy upon joining the club to increase the chances of them doing that.

I've had bugger all at Las Palmas so far. Nantes was a good one, regularly got Ligue 1 standard players through there.

After being unfairly dismissed by Accrington (I was relegated on the final day and they were bloody predicted to finish 24th!!!)

I decided to start with them again, as I liked the challenge.

1st season I finished 20th with 49 points.

Just finished my 2nd season, finished 20th with 51 points. Improvement lol

Been offered a few jobs (including Blackburn in January who were £59k over their wage budget, bottom and had no money to spend), I've decided to try a 3rd season with Stanley!

I've turned into the Crystal Palace of Spain. Absolutely horrible opening 8 games (I lost them all) but have since then been winning more than we lose and actually go into our last two games in 12th place, even one of them is away at bottom of the league Eibar. Smallest wage budget in the league and have done that. After a play-off win to boot. Freaky.

Pavel Savitskiy is absolutely superb.

My first choice team...

Casto (SK,D)

Patric (WB,S) - Albizua (CD,D) - Maloca (CD,C) - D.Castellano (WB,S)

Hernan (AM,D)

Vicente (CM,D) - Halilovic (RPM,S)

Riviere (RMD,A) ------------------- Savitskiy (IF,A)

Rescaldini (F9,S)

Playing a hihg-pressing 4-4-2 with Leicester and it's working so well. Finished 8th in my second season.

Ended the season playing...

Schmeichel (GK, D)

De Laet (FB, Au)

Lucas Silva (CD, D)

Moore (CD, D)

Schlupp (FB, A)

Zivkovic (W, A)

Cambiasso (CM, D)

Kranevitter (CM, D)

Mahrez (WM, S)

Fierro (DF, A)

Mitrovic (CF, A)

Fierro ended with 20 goals for the season and spent a good month out injured. Looking to replace Cambiasso and Schlupp this transfer window. Any suggestions?

This guy is a monster on my Charlton save. I've just started my fourth season and wanted desperately to sign him but the board wouldn't free up the funds despite me sitting on £45m in the bank  :( . James Wilson , that said, is class for me.

He is excellent. Took him a while to get going (like the whole team in which case) but for a free he's been superb. He'd walk into Malaga's team now and they're the ones who released him.

I signed Victor Casadesus on loan from Levante as well and he's been surprisingly good too. We should never be this high.

Dan will like this.

I'm montpellier, I'm third in the league (behind PSG and Marseille) and there's one team I've not beaten all year.

PSG.

I'm in the final of the French cup against St Etienne and I've just had the final of the league cup... which I lost... to PSG.

David Luiz with a penalty and free kick in an otherwise dreadful game in which I grab a 93rd minute set piece equaliser to take it to extra time. It was two days after my French cup semi final, as well, and PSG had a week's rest. Cvnts.

A rivalry is born! (PS, I've dicked on Nantes, suckit.)

I beat St Etienne 4-0 in the coupe De Ligue final with Nantes, should be easy.

I'm racing Santander now, kept them up with the worst budget in the league and I can't find any decent frees :(

Posted

I'm still playing FM13. Have got as far as 2065/66 and all of the players have retired as coaches.

Some even become chairman on that game lol Got to a similar stage, they don't update journalists though, you end up being interviewed by 110 year olds

They are nauseating. They spend hundreds of millions and no matter who they sign they ensure they are just that slight bit better than whoever I'm managing.

I finished 13th in the end. Chuffed. Barcelona won the league with 104 points lol

3rd season I survived on the final day, finished 22nd with 44 points lol

Just started the 4th season, Blackburn & Blackpool are now in league 2.

Started well actually, 5th after 13 games with 21 points. Mid-table is the aim.

Anyone ever signed Yesil Amad, Leandro Desabato or Hector Villalba? Just bagged all three ahead of this season.
