Football Manager 2015

I'm rebuilding my Maidenhead team to meet the challenges of our upcoming Conference season after I cruised to Conference South Manager of the Year. Hereford still exist in this game and their Conference North asses tried to call me in for an interview... no thanks. But now, League 2 Wycombe would like to talk to me, hmm... I'll sleep on this one.

Las Palmas are absolutely skint, so they go and stick Culio on nearly £20k a week the cvnts.

He's out of contract at the end of this season. Releasing him unless we're promoted and he's happy for a pay cut.

Lost the 2nd game 4-3 to Everton. Baines hat-trick of penalties...

This defence is attrocious. "Key" highlights might aswell just be called "Goals".

Won 4-0 at West Brom in the 3rd game  :nigel:

Won't report every result but that was unbelievable.

Scoring isn't a problem but I can't stop shipping goals on this one. Every other game is ending 4-2 one way or the other.

What's your tactic?

Roles, duties, team instructions, mentality and fluidity?

Varies on who I'm against. Just kept a clean-sheet, but it was against Sunderland...

Beat Burnley 3-0 then lost 4-1 at Palace, so I'll give you an example of the Palace one.

CB

RB (flat back 4 - both full backs auto)

CDM

BWM - support

CM - support

W - attack

W - attack

AF - attack

Mentality - Control

Team shape - Flexible

Instructions - Retain possession, shorter passing, pass into space, Run at defence, play wider, close down more, prevent short distribution (they were playing a diamond).

13th at the minute and Ulloa is the join top scorer in the league  :pearson:

CDM Defend?

BWM - You should have an attack duty in midfield especially with your striker on attack.

CM - support

W - attack Too predictable with both wingers on attack, put one on support.

W - attack Wingers on attack don't track back so may explain your defensive woes.

AF - attack

Mentality - Control

Team shape - Flexible

Perhaps slight overkill on the TIs, control already has shorter passing and play quite wide as well as playing higher and closing down more, obviously don't change it just because I said so but it's something to be mindful of.

My main conclusion from my Aldershot save is that Brett Williams is probably the best striker ever. If my defence wasn't absolutely appalling, we'd be golden.

I just gave up an injury time equalizer to Aldershot  What a kick in the nuts that was!

Still, I've got my Magpies 17th in the Conference and 6 points above the drop zone in January 2016. Our $446k payroll, which is only 20th-highest in the league, is killing the club, though.

I've started to get some success playing 4-4-1-1 counter, generally with short passing, away and against bigger clubs. I use two WDMs support, DLP defend and a BBM support, with an AP support above them. Occasionally, I'll switch one WDM to a W attack if I need more width. This works well for my team because my main formation is a 4-2-3-1 wide, anyway.

Lots of random clubs have offered me interviews. I wanted the AFC Wimbledon job, but I didn't get it. All in all, I've mainly decided to play this year out with Maidenhead, try to keep them up, and see what the summer brings.

You squares get too bogged down in tactics. Just buy the best ballers and watch the champagne football flow, that's what I do.

Managed to get Queens Park into the SPL with two Challenge Cups (the Scottish JPT) and a League Cup title to my name. The plan is to cram 52k into Hampden for a European night, I'd love to fill the gaff. First home game against Partick, managed to get 8k in which is a good start.

I play very few Scots because I don't like them and they're shit at football and that, though. DOMESTIC PLAYER BIAS ZERO.

Haha, at Maidenhead we're on the grind with our terrible pitch and insecure finances. Champagne? Nah man, we got some white cider football, baby (preferably in a plastic bottle)!

Yeah but you're still playing that samba football we all crave, not like Finners who I hear insists on playing two anchors at any given time.

Will try it out, cheers!

For the first time ever I've been given one of these "get this many points in 5 games" ultimatums and actually delivered. Won my last two of the five after falling behind. We missed an open goal at 2-1 late on and I thought... once again the game is going to deliver the most sickening sacking ever.

It's actually put me in a pretty good position to qualify for the play-offs. We're screwed if we don't go up this season. Financially a shambles.

I'm falling back in love with Sergio Araujo. It's like FM11 all over again.

Indeed. We're seductively swinging our hips right down to the cusp of the relegation zone... Although I recently beat Nuneaton 6-1 away with two players scoring hat tricks, **** wit' me.

Anyone else feel personally insulted when youth intake day comes around and you get no one higher than 2 star potential?

Well it depends on what your junior coaching and youth recruitment levels are?

They are what I focus on developing and I get fantastic potential regens in my youth team, and that's rated by youth coaches and scouts that have 20 judging PA
