Ross-Kemp Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Ive started an English league, pressed random club. Ive been given Watford, who have a surprisingly tidy squad (Miles Jacobson is a Watford fan I believe?) Im about to make Andy Wilkinson my first signing which im happy with and I have a couple of good preseason wins against Udinese and Standard Liege in the bag. Interested to see how this one plays out. I did this, ended up with bloody Accrington Stanley, predicted to finish 24th in league 2.4-4-2 all the way I reckon.
Ross-Kemp Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Relegated in 23rd, final day of the season by 1 point.
Donut Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Watford are currently sitting 7th at christmas, with the boxing day game being Wolves at home. A win would potentially move us up to 4th. First thing to note, whether this is because of the large number of foreign imports into the squad, is that there is zero dressing room spirit here. Seems like no matter what you say, or in whatever tone you choose to say it, a number of players will look disinterested, "switch off" or look confused in team talks, not good at all. Its clear that members of the squad dont get on with each other either. Heurelho Gomes was tutoring Jonathan Bond, but Bond told me he wanted to end the tutoring. Likewise Stephen Warnock tutoring Tommy Hobin. Lewis McGugan said "Id have a mutiny on my hands" for not backing down for his demands to start more matches. At times, weve played some nice football. Playing best on the counter attack by looking to soak up possession and use pace out wide, Coquelin as an anchor man frees up Toszer or Abdi to roam in midfield, but we are leaky at the back and its an area i will look to strengthen in January. Gabriel Tamas recorded the lowest match rating ive ever seen in a 3-3 away game at Birmingham, where i hauled him off at half time (confidence shattered of couse) after registering a performance of 4.0. Troy Deeney is bagging a goal every other game, and without his goals, we would be struggling for sure. Fabbrini seems a better trequartista option than Vydra or Forrestieri. A good January and tightening up at the back SHOULD see us into the playoffs, and ill take our chances there. But inconsistency and defensive frailties are continuing to leave us lower than we could be.
RonnieTodger Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 Just as I was getting to grips with it, my Leicester team 11th in the Premier League after holding Chelsea to a draw and beating Spurs... HT - Colchester 3-0 Leicester. (FA Cup R3) Lost 3-2
AyewJoking Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 I signed Nicolas Anelka on a free til the end of the season. Couldnt register him til the season ended though. 30k a week too.
Stadt Posted 22 January 2015 Posted 22 January 2015 Little bit off topic as it concerns my FM2013 save. Have recently resigned from Ipswich and taken over at Aldershot. Had 2 keepers one of whom had demanded a move, the other continually missed training and went AWOL on matchdays.. Got by using youth keepers til Jan window then got rid of both unsettled keepers and and signed a couple of replacements........At the end of Jan both new keepers picked up injuries, (4-6wks)..At the same time both youth keepers were injured in training, (both out for the season).....Managed to sign two more keepers on loan plus a decent young regen as reserve cover. Now, two weeks into February, all three of my new GK signings have picked up injuries...I therefore have SEVEN goalkeepers on the books, NONE of whom are available.....Never known anything remotely like it....Reminds me of the Bunn/Warner times a few years back!! !?!?!
DB11 Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 My save game has broken now I was at the end of the 2023/24 season but now I can't press continue anymore. I can holiday forwards easy enough and navigate the screen but pressing continue or space bar just doesn't work Ah well it was getting a bit slow anyway. Now that I've got used to the game (that was my first save) I will start unemployed and see where that takes me... it'll take a lot to be better than that save though I won everything in England followed by everything in France (I won everything in France with PSG in two consecutive seasons)

Haydos Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Does the game not lose its appeal a bit when youve got a team full of artificially generated players? I prefer it if anything, it bores me having the same players on every save that every single person goes for every time. Yawn. Bringing players through your youth or from an obscure foreign club when they're 15 and having them at your club for 20 years is what it's about.
Haydos Posted 23 January 2015 Posted 23 January 2015 Agree with this.... It's more satisfying a few years in when you're playing with a team full of regens that you've developed! Have always, since the days of CM4, tried to have one career NOT using real players....More of a challenge!! I like the transition. It's weird not knowing literally who anyone is but if you play a normal game the players kind of grow into it and you see their careers progress.
FoxLAD Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 When do you get the intake of youth players? Its ok they came straight sfter i wrote this

Guest ttfn Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 I like the regens. I get a sense of satisfaction bringing through my own players and developing them. I'm still playing FM13. Have got as far as 2065/66 and all of the players have retired as coaches.
Will1981 Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 3rd in Premier League - 1st season with Leicester, Nugent is a legend.
Will1981 Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 That formation! its amazing its the V6 version. http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/share-download-fm-15-tactics/207417-bad-possession-180-goals.html
Will1981 Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 Downloading a tactic? Doesn't count. very true, I could have lied and said I created it myself though,
Richard Posted 24 January 2015 Posted 24 January 2015 Any tips for offloading Albrighton? 4 years contract at £35k a week and he's sh*t and nobody wants him
Vardinhio Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Well I got sacked at Luton, that's 3 sackings in two seasons now. Cleaerly begging for my job was not the right approach! Bit gutted really as had a decent team there and was not doing too badly, just hit a ad patch of form. Don't ask me why but Oldham have just been relegated to league 2 and they want me to manage them! Good news finally! Oldham's board wanted me to win the league which was a big ask considering the zero funds they provided me with. However, I got them up in third progressing nicely as the season went on. I had a half decent side built from mostly frees in fairness with Tom Hopper, Dominic Poleon, Andre Bikey, Tom Pope and a lad called Halliday from Man City on loan who's appparently "the new john terry". Strangely with the season over and us promotef the board called me in and said they were not happy with me and wanted me to get 10 points from five games.....I assume they meant at the start of the new season? I was not happy about this! Anyway, sorry guys but Coventry struggled in league 1 last season and now they've seen my magic they want me. They tapped me up with some fancy cider and steak so I've left Oldham for them. I do feel a bit dirty but they have some decent young players and I'm going to sign some of my old lads from Reading on loan again hopefully to help us out. A manager just wants to feel wanted guys.......so unlucky Oldham! So...that's Reading, Colchester, Luton, Oldham and Coventry managed in just over three years....I'm like Michael Appleton!
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 Possibly finally nailed it with aldershot. First 7 games of the season all wins to nil. Lucky with 2 disallowed against me. Let's hope the game doesn't throw up a month crap as usual at some point ! I've taken Finners adbice and got 2 v slightly different tactics. I've gone one home one away so I can mix up. If the game starts messing me about I try to switch.
leicester4life Posted 25 January 2015 Posted 25 January 2015 How do our exciting youth prospects turn out? Hamza is highly rated by my coaches I think, what are the black stars about?
