Dan Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Absolutely loathe this tendency my sides have to absolutely capitulate against utter dross. I don't tend to get bad results on the whole but occasionally (and more often than I'd like) we have an absolute stinker. How is it even possible to lose 6-0 to ****ing Sabadell? It's like the defence absolutely falls apart and there's nothing you can do.
Jordan Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 I'm trying to do yet another started-from-da-bottom save, this time with Maidenhead United. I was not that familiar with Vanarama Conference South rules before I started, but is there some sort of quota for how many players have to get injured every game, or each month? Or are my imaginary versions of real players pretending to get hurt because they have imaginary dates to go to? It's ridiculous, I've got players getting injured left and right every ****ing game. I just finished a game where four players had to leave due to injury. I'm 2nd place after 23 games (predicted to be 12th in preseason) mostly playing some sweet ass 4231 tiki-taka stuff with a direct, meat-and-potatoes 442 thrown in every now and then. The "2" in the 4231 are a DLP defend and a BBM support. I'm tops in the league by far in average possession (55.78% compared to 2nd place 51.88%) and goals for (58, 11 more than 2nd) while the 3rd-lowest squad payroll in the division. I just got a contract extension and a raise through next season. I'm also tied for 1st in the league with 7 goals from corners despite my corner routine turning into something really bizarre. When I started setting it up to hit corners to the penalty spot, the takers almost always turn and whip it to a player that's unmarked in the center... Only that player tends to be 35 yards from goal. From then, anything can happen. I have been thinking about tweaking my corners, but I guess we're doing OK and I am not sure how well the set piece generator works in 15 anyway, so I'll leave it alone. I'm just waiting for the inevitable crash and burn down the home stretch that happened in my first two cracks at this game...
RonnieTodger Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 When I was Leicester my first season signings that actually turned out to be good were David Pavelka and Youri Tielemans I did look at him, but by then I didn't have anything left to spend
Stadt Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 If you want some decent bargains look no further than Pavel Savitsky and Kristoffer Ajer.
Ross-Kemp Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 I've started as Anderlecht, with Tielmans & Mitrovic, I figured I'd have a pretty solid base. My aim is to win everything without signing a player. I've just started my 3rd season, won the league twice & cup once and the super cup twice. So far, I've signed no-one and kept the majority of my squad.

If so, are you just using regens and bringing them through the ranks?
Dan Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Ajax are another who ought to be tried out like that. I don't remember ever seeing a side in any FM series with as many class youngsters as Ajax have on this one.
Fox92 Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Yep, got relegated. Disaster of a season. Highlight was somehow getting to the 5th round of the FA Cup. They've kept me on thank God and I've ripped through the squad and staff in hope I can win promotion at the first attempt.
Ross-Kemp Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Have you sold anyone? If so, are you just using regens and bringing them through the ranks? I've shifted a couple on, I'll post later.Yep, youth team and regens.
RonnieTodger Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Finally got this, and started a Leicester save. Been unable to get rid of anyone Brought in: Fabian Schar Joel Campbell (loan) Piotr Trochowski Neil Taylor Drew 3-3 at Spurs on the opening day. Lost the 2nd game 4-3 to Everton. Baines hat-trick of penalties... This defence is attrocious. "Key" highlights might aswell just be called "Goals".
Ozwin Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Right, what am I doing wrong chaps? I'm trying to install a skin, I've extracted the folder to Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2015/skins but it's simply not showing up in the drop down menu in Preferences. I've installed graphics before, it's normally a piece of piss but it's not having it at all. I've tried several skins, reloading the game etc etc.

Richard Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 2nd game of the season against QPR, 4-0 up at HT. Taarabt then gets a hattrick to bring it back to 4-3, nervy last 10 but managed to hang on. Out: Nugent to Palace for £5.75m Wood to Burnley for £2.5m In: Bassong fee rising to £6m Bolasie fee rising to £4m Ings fee rising to £8m, £2m extra if he scores 40 goals.
Finnegan Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Ajax, Anderlecht and River Plate are all ****ing amazing. I'd love to manage them but I can't get beyond the fact they're all very dominant in their own league system. You'd literally just be building for continental football every season and I can't see that entertaining me. Playing as one of the three in a really well made "Super League" database would be good. You could literally put together a "best of" their youngsters and make up most of my preferred starting line ups though! Haha. Pretty sure you could win any league by putting together a combination of their three players.
Stadt Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Not at the same level as those 3 but Dinamo (boo, hiss) have some decent cheaper youngsters. Anyway I started a save with Arsenal because the real Arsenal frustrate me and it should be an interesting medium term save. Signed Ajer, will probably bring Miranda and Reinartz in for about £20m altogether.
leicester4life Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Where's cheapest to get this? Seen it for just less than £20 on cdkeys.com, is it legit?
Vardinhio Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 Well I started one with Reading but got sacked in Feb being around 15th in the table. I actually felt I was doing a decent job, I'd offloaded some big earner such as Pog and Guthrie and was bringing some young players through. Then whilst looking for jobs I got offered the Colchester job with 14 games left. They were struggling in League one relegation zone. I think I ended up winning 4, drawing 5 and losing 5. Went down on last day of season due to a Preston equaliser in the 85th min... They sacked me so I was unemployed at the end of the season. Anyway... Luton obviously heard how great I was so I'm with them now. I have gutted the squad amnd bought in around ten players including Stephen McGinn, Francois Zoko, Bobby Zamora and a few lads I knew from my time at Reading and Colchester. Currently played two games, beating Dag and Red at home and Fulham away 2-0 in the league cup. Really enjoying it now and playing around with tactics a lot more when required. Leicester have just signed Defoe and Eto!
Dan Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 I was Anderlecht on 14 and even I found it just far too easy. Won something like 21 games in a row.
Jordan Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 MAIDENHEAD UNITED 2014/15 VANARAMA CONFERENCE SOUTH CHAMPIONS!!! I did it with two games to spare. I bet the club will either get denied promotion due to the ground, or go into crippling debts trying to upgrade it now, haha. But if a League team comes calling for me, that all probably won't be my problem anymore.
morris1234 Posted 7 January 2015 Posted 7 January 2015 With Leicester. Finished 8th and won the FA cup, beating Chelsea 2-0 - in the first season. Signed, Marcos Alonso, Lucas Romero and Ezequel Munoz. Nugent got 30 premier league goals. Special mention to schlupp, vardy, ulloa and mahrez whom I rejected 20m bids from newcastle, he was class. Scored over 80 goals but was poor defensively conceding around 60 odd. Forgot I qualified for the Europa due to FA Cup win - got a decent budget of around 22m - then sold... Sold Romero to Monaco for £35m Sold Munoz to Porto for 20M Brought in: D.marshall for £4.9m M.noble £5m Kranevitter 3.9m T.martinez 3m Balanta 5m J.tomkins 2.1m T.cleverley 1.5m E.cirigliano free S.sinclair 2.5m C.mcmanaman 600k-jan signing S.fletcher 900k-jan signing W.khazri 6m + schmeichal Some 19yo Bosnian gk 500k rising to 3m -jan signing Currently 2nd behind Spurs in March. Topped group in Europa, beat Ajax in knockout first round home and away 6-2 on aggregate. Now have Porto. Sinclair and mahrez tearing teams up with pace. Nugent on 15, ulloa 12, vardy 14 including 4 against arsenal. Cleverley bossing midfield until khazri came in, he's wracked up 40 key passes in 7 games. Moore and balanta are class, Marcos alonso is ridiculously consistent, as is de laet. P.s - tom lawrence has been class for me playing on the right side of a front 3, and when I say front 3 I mean all 3 as strikers, nkt 1 with 2 wide AM's
Beliall Posted 7 January 2015 Author Posted 7 January 2015 Where's cheapest to get this? Seen it for just less than £20 on cdkeys.com, is it legit? yeah that site is fine
Lovejoy Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I've just started a lovely little save with my favourite Spanish outfit, Valencia. Inspired by the signing of Enzo Perez, a machine in the middle of the park, I've won my opening 7 games, scoring 23 and conceding just the one in the process. I do have a wealth of attacking options, my biggest challenge is going to be keeping the likes of Pablo Piatti and Sofiane Feghouli happy down the stretch as without European competition, squad rotation won't be necessary. Rodrigo De Paul looks a tremendous prospect, the only reason he didn't go out on loan was as he is right footed, but has gone on to score 6 in 4 starts as an Inside Forward operating on the left. On the transfer front, Lucas Romero is the only full time addition. At £7m with wonderkid status, it'd be rude not too. I've managed to secure Sergi Samper on loan from Barca, who interestingly have hinted in the media that he doesn't figure in their long term plans. My squad is as follows: GK: Diego Alves - Solid keeper, not going to blow anyone away, but definitely top 6 standard. GK: Yoel - average top flight keeper, certainly good enough to warm the bench. RB: Joao Pereira - experienced 30 year old in last year of contract, solid, but definitely a position to strengthen next summer. RB: Antonio Barragan - ok as back up, average top flight player at best. LB: Jose Luis Gaya - at 19 a superstar in the making. 1st choice already and will only get better. LB: Lucas Orban - a Barragan on the left. CB: Nicolas Otamendi - at 26 he's one of the top centre back's on the game imo, I use him as the Covering CB and he's been excellent so far. CB: Shkodran Mustafi - World Cup winner and at 22 has the potential to be a star. Good all round defender. CB: Ruben Vezo - 3rd choice at the moment but has the potential to be my best defender. DM: Lucas Romero - Cemented the anchor man role already, will only get better. DM: Javi Fuego - solid top flight player, at 30 adds experience, but won't be more than cover over the course of the season. DM: Sergi Samper - retraining as an Advanced PM, he's settled in well. I've asked Dani Parejo to take him under his wing. CM: Dani Parejo - solid Advanced PM , fighting with Sergi Samper whilst tutoring him at the same time. CM: Enzo Perez - excelling as a Box to Box Midfielder, yet to have a bad game for the club. CM: Bruno Zuculini - backup for Perez, will warm the bench for the rest of his loan spell barring injuries/suspensions. IF: Rodrigo - traditionally a forward, i'm using him as an Inside Forward to great measure, scoring and providing over a goal a game so far. IF: Pablo Piatti - tricky little player with definite ability. Will most likely be an impact player. IF: Rodrigo De Paul - revelation! Banging in the goals, developing him into an IF, lots of potential. IF: Sofiane Feghouli - usurped by De Paul, whinging as I won't give him a new contract. Potential January departure at this rate. CF: Paco Alcacer - tailor made for the complete forward role, has the potential to be a club legend. CF: Alvaro Negredo - battering ram of a player, contributing goals already and tore the Atletico Madrid backline a new one in my last outing. High hopes moving forward, I'm aiming to push the big two all the way.
Dan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 All of a sudden I feel less annoyed about losing home and away to Valencia in the Copa Del Rey with Las Palmas. Lost 0-1 at home and 4-2 away, came back from 2 down away but lost.
JamesO Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Housemate is gutted not getting Plymouth into the champions league after only playing about 5/6 seasons. Clearly cheated
