I obviously know nothing about you personally, but the image I have in my head of you kickboxing is piss funny.

Holland - can see them going out in the group stage like in the Euro's.  Poor defense.  3 man team (van persie, Robben, Snjeider).  Mind you, they got to the final 4 years ago with no big name defenders.

Italy.  I think England are better than 2 years ago and Italy a little worse.  They could only draw 1-1 with minnows Luxembourg the other night ffs.  Surely they are sitting duck for us in this tournament than any other.  I have England as 2-0 winners.

Brazil destroyed Spain in the Confederations Cup. They added a much needed element of physicality to that squad. Neymar committed more fouls than any other player at the tournament.

I think it's easy to overrate Uruguay because they have Suarez, Cavani and Godin. Their captain, Diego Lugano, was 4th choice centre-back at West Brom last season.

I'm not impressed by Italy. They've had a poor warm-up to the world cup. I know they're not a 1 man team but it seems like man-marking Pirlo will make them ineffective.

Holland are also not playing as well as they should. They only beat a weakened Wales side 2-0. They have world-class players but their performances are certainly not world-class.

Portugal are overrated as well. They really are a 1 man team. That 1 man might not even be fit for the opening matches.

So, Spain, Italy, Uruguay and Portugal will be the biggest disappointments. I'd also like to throw in Ghana and Nigeria. I don't think they'll do as well this time round.

We've done winners, golden boot, surprise package so time for the biggest disappointment.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say Spain. The rest of the world seems to have caught up with tiki taka and the pressure/motivation will be high al la France 2002.

First round casualties or second round defeat v Brazil methinks...

Boooooom....

People seem to be hugely overestimating the Dutch still, one of their worst sides in recent history.

I was wondering when that would come back. I'm baffled with the Spain result like everyone else. Tbf, they struggled to a win against Australia. It's their lack of depth and their inexperience at the back that I still think is going to cause them problems. I'm prepared to eat my words again :P

Dutch shouldn't get that far with that defence, but the draw could be kind. It's easy to forget the Spanish handed them two of their goals, the game against Chile is the big one, winner avoiding Brazil and getting Mexico or Croatia. If they get a draw or better against Chile they could find themselves in a semi final as I believe they'll end up playing either one of the underwhelming teams in our group or one from the sub par Group C in the Quarters.

Blimey some of the predictions in this thread lol

Sadly England out after five days was basically the only bang-on shout of the lot.

Some of the predictions in this thread have been quite astounding.

Haydos' is my personal favourite.. from a usually very sound source of football opinion.

Of course it's very easy to laugh at everyone's predictions when you didn't make one in here yourself. I'm sure you had Spain out first, Benzema top scorer etc etc just forgot to tell us

I'll make the same one now as I would have done at the start

Argentina to win the World Cup.

Messi as top goal scorer.

Had money on it, from the off

Just did my predictions for the place I used to work and have Chile to top their group, with the Dutch going out at the group stage and Spain losing to Brazil in the last 16....so I'm probably going to look like a fool in 3 weeks time when Spain have tika-takad everyone senseless and Robben has beaten the world single-handed....

I'm also gambling on Suarez's injury disrupting Uruguay's tournament. They were pretty flaky in qualifying (finished 5th behind Chile & Ecuador, remember) and play Costa Rica first, probably without Suarez....a 0-0 shut-out in that match, a half-fit Suarez is rushed back too early and they cock it up against England, too....you heard it here first!

Biggest humiliation could be Mexico. How the hell they qualified, I don't know. I reckon they could lose all 3 to Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon, and return home to a shower of rotten tortillas and refried beans at the airport...

lol

That REALLY is a classic!

The Pearsonites are proving to be a dangerous bunch. Their inability or unwillingness to discuss Pearsons failings and now, it would appear failure, renders it difficult to move on and to even consider alternatives. It's clear that Pearson is not a patch, tactically, on the likes of Zola. The only reason we got back into that game last night wasn't because we were a good team, but because we became desperate. Football wise, they were head and shoulders above us IMO. I don't want another season of the same. I want a manager with just more talent than Pearson has. The Pearsonites are demanding more of the same, which is bizarre given what we've seen now for months. Time for a change. A new philosophy. A younger manager with fresh ideas and fresh ways of playing.

After that classic Col quote, it's very hard to take him seriously. Glass houses?
