If Derby win today...

I dont get everyone going on about 1 shot on target as if its a bad thing, its been shown time and time again if you set yourself up strong and hold off opposition advances all you need is that one chance to take it, anyone saying QPR dont deserve it clearly cant appreciate a good tactical showing imo

Can we start a rumour that we are signing Hughes and Bryson ?? That would really piss them off lol

No they are no better than what we have already got.

Arry didn't look to bothered at the end in interviews. My pointless conclusion is that I don't think Arry wants to be there and I think he has actually looked bored at QPR for a while, especially this season.

I think if they would have stayed down then he could have jumped ship to a prem team. Now he has taken them back up, looks like he'll stay.

Don't think he wants to be there.

I was thinking the same thing. Apart from the sending off, actually QPR had the best chance (Austin) where he fluffed it. He was awful today by the way.

I think Redknapp, after the sending off got it spot on. He set up men behind the ball, moved Traore to left back and defended resolutely. Derby were toothless up front.

And when the chance came, Zamora kept a VERY cool head.. always the sign of a good player, albeit ageing.

To be honest, even I thought it was gonna be Derby today, even before the sending off.

But I'm quids in and tis a funny ol game.

Embarrassing. We're Leicester City fans, not anti-Notts forest fans. Fvck the pair of them, hope they languish below us forever.

Derby would have gone down if they had got up, while forest will NOT be going up for many many more years

To any Derby fan (or Forest fan for that matter) who says they don't care about us, and don't consider us rivals. We are head and shoulders above you as the dominant East Midlands club, and to say that we aren't your rivals makes you look silly. We are the best in the region (the same region you are in) and if you don't consider us as the biggest match of the season if you are unfortunate enough to draw us in the cup (where you will have the chance to test your skills against our reserves), you are lying. From here on in, we are your "cup final", the Manchester United to your Bolton Wanderers. Enjoy your stay in the second tier whilst we represent the East Midlands with pride in the best league in the world.

Dude, just enjoy them both being miserable. I doubt Forest are happy like us right now, just pleased in the short term.

See, in a league game, I'd commend a manager for winning with that approach (Us away at QPR and Chelsea at Liverpool spring to mind). But to be so negative in a playoff final on neutral turf against a side that only finished 1 place above you is pathetic. Such an undeserved victory.

BUT, a victory it was and that's all that matters in games like this!

The last point is spot on mate. A win (however gotten) was all that mattered today. It genuinely doesnt surprise me that it was Arry who got it. He aint been around at the top level for years cos he's a mug. He isn't. People might not like him, but he's no fool

Bobby Zamora and good player should never be used in the same sentence unless you include the word isn't.

From todays mercury 20 years on

Derby forward Tommy Johnson is warming up in the tunnel, jumping up and down, whirling his arms around

"Wembley, eh" he says looking at city defender Gary coatsworth "we're about to to run out at Wembley. Isnt that fantastic, mate?"

Coatsworth says nothing. Instead he bends down and pushes his nose right into Tommy Johnson's face

"**** off" he growls, loudly.

The rest as they say is history!

Great read though, 'the grinders' interesting to see what they are doing now,

Coatsworth works for nissan

Gavin ward is on gardening leave at forest!

Jimmy willis is a cab driver!

A very determined bunch of footballers that day at Wembley

I don't rate him that highly but he had one chance to earn his team promotion to the biggest league in the world, and he just placed it perfectly past the keeper. Superb composure.

Derby for all their possession, didn't put one quality ball into the box, they had no real idea, a really poor game of football. Derby got what they deserved, probing as 'Arry said, but no end product whatsoever.

The biggest problem for either side was they had no pace, my lad in the pub said he could see QPR nicking it as one chance would come their way. I don't rate Zamora either, he lives up to his song, but on this occasion it was a real quality finish, shows he has the skill, but has never really used it consistently.

Interesting stat that all but one of his goals for QPR this season have been scored in the 90th minute or later. Shows he keeps on plugging away (and comes on as a sub a lot!)

Looking forward to another overnighter in Hammersmith next season.

Agreed, however one swallow does not make a summer.

Just like 90% of QPR's squad, he's a Prem reject.

I actually feel quite sorry for Derby. QPR were atrocious today! Derby just lacked the final ball but were by far the better team

I did too, Derby did all the work only for QPR to go up the other end and sneak it, but it's goals that count. Did remind me of Watford away, we know how it feels.

Derby with the extra man were woeful with all that possession - needed to use the advantage to get round the back and turn the ageing centre backs. Instead, they resorted to too many crosses. Wht didnt they realise they needed short corners ? Qpr left on austin and zamora so they had a forward in the midfield. Derby deserved nowt on that basis and qpr can claim it on the grounds that they defended resolutely.
