Mahrez should be starting for Algeria vs Qatar at 4pm

Mahrez is actually being played on the right for Algeria.

And now they've lost 1-0 against Qatar, 91 positions behind them in the FIFA rankings. Reports indicate that Algeria looked well off their usual pace and quite lacklustre.

That could describe Mahrez recently.

Panayiotou Nets First International Hat-Trick

Posted: Fri 27 Mar 2015

Author: Leicester City

Leicester City Development Squad forward Harry Panayiotou continued his blistering goalscoring form with a maiden hat-trick for St. Kitts and Nevis on Thursday.
Panayiotou has scored six goals in his last five games in all competitions for Steve Beaglehole’s Under-21s and put in another fine performance, this time against Turks and Caicos in the World Cup Qualifiers.

The striker’s nation won 6-2 on the night, with Panayiotou grabbing his first from the penalty spot before netting twice in five second-half minutes to eventually beat Turks and Caicos 12-4 on aggregate following the 6-2 victory earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez earned another cap for Algeria in their 1-0 friendly defeat to Qatar on Thursday evening.

Mahrez played a key part in the Desert Warriors’ Africa Cup of Nations campaign earlier this season and could again be involved for his nation on Sunday 29 March when they face Oman in another friendly.

Under-18s defender Ben Chilwell completed 90 minutes for England Under-19s in their 3-2 European Championship Elite Round Qualifying win against Denmark on Thursday.

Strikes from Chelsea’s Isaiah Brown and Manchester City’s Ashley Smith-Brown either side of an own goal from Magnus Pedersen secured the triumph for Sean O’Driscoll’s side in Bayeux, France.

Chilwell’s young Lions next face Azerbaijan on Saturday 28 March before a tie against hosts France on Tuesday 31 March.

Fellow young Fox Layton Ndukwu was an unused substitute in England Under-17s’ 2-1 European Championship Elite Round Qualifying victory against Romania at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium.

A double from Chelsea’s Ike Ugbo meant John Peacock’s side maintained their 100 per cent qualification campaign record as they head to the finals of the tournament in Bulgaria in the summer.

Finally, youngster Tomas Dombrauskis played 90 minutes in Lithuania Under-19s’ 1-1 draw with Sweden Under-19s on Thursday.

Dombrauskis could again represent his country when they face Russia on Saturday 28 March.

Kramaric Anticipates Challenging Croatia Test

Posted: Fri 27 Mar 2015

Author: Leicester City

Striker Andrej Kramarić says his first game for Croatia since joining Leicester City from HNK Rijeka in January is set to be a difficult test for his nation.
The Foxes forward will hope to help Niko Kovač’s men strengthen their position at the top of European Championship Qualifying Group H when they host a fierce Norway side in Maksimir on Saturday.

Croatia have been in fine form in the group stages, winning three out of their four games and conceding just once in the process.

Aiming to add to his two goals in four international appearances, Kramarić said: “Of course I’m happy that I’m playing again in Croatia for the national team and playing with some of the country’s best players.

“We will have a really great match against a great team in Norway and hopefully we will play like we played in the other games in the group stage and get the win.

“I’m happy to be back to see some family and friends that I’ve missed too, so I’m happy that I’ll see them.”

The City frontman is fully aware of the task at hand. Norway’s defence are yet to be breached on the road in the group stages and sit just one point behind Croatia heading into the crucial clash.

Kramarić added: “To get to Euro 2016 would mean a lot, especially for me. This is my first qualification campaign and I hope that I will play in the European Championship in 2016.

“I will do everything to help my team to win the game against Norway and help us get there.”

Think it reflects the nature of the friendly and non-competitive internationals over the quality in Algeria's attack.

Well done to Harry Panayioutou on his hat-trick for St Kitts and Nevis, alright I know it was only against the Turks and Caicos but a hat-trick is a hat-trick, don't think any other City player has managed it this season, have they.

As soon as Kram came on, a Croatia CB got sent off, so he played the remainder out wide-left - didn't stop him from making a few good runs and closing players down defensively, not much to go by anyway. He wore the number 9 shirt too for those that care.

Jeff Schlupp's on the bench as we speak vs Senegal.

4 goals in 3 appearances isn't bad either. Averaging more than a goal per game throughout his career so far, I'm fully expecting serious calls for him to play against west ham from some people on here.

What does their manager know? Playing Krammy out wide left?

Whatever happened to Ulloa playing for Chile? Obviously they realized he was crap.

Or maybe he's just had a little chat with the Chilean national manager about the chances of making the squad, nothing more than that.

We've got some really up and coming young talent through the ranks of our academy again this season lets hope a couple of them can get a crack in the first team soon, you never know we might have a real gem who can hit the floor running and net a few much needed goals to keep us up !

Yes I know bit of a dream but who knows Ferguson gave beckham his chance and also Rooney at Everton who came on to be awesome youngsters !!
