England 0-0 Honduras

This is possibly one of the worst results in our history, but at least it isn't 1-1 against Luxembourg... Warm up matches are funny games and you certainly shouldn't be putting any bets on lol...

I'm not even just saying this but I thought Henderson was the best player on the pitch last night, Hodgson is playing him far too deep though, last night there was no need for both Gerrard and Henderson to be protecting the back four.

This 4-2-3-1 is not going to work with Rooney as the 10 and Welbeck out wide, it's really not and you can't play Lallana from the right either.

It will be criminal if we don't start with Sterling and Barkley.

Sturridge will find the goal, trust me. Baines did well, Cahill looked solid, still a question mark over Jagielka, Johnson needs killing and Gerrard looked a bit crab like last night, shame Roy hasn't adopted the Liverpool way but I never expected him too, far to boring for that.

I think if we're going to play Henderson then we need to do it in a 3 with preferably Barkley joining him and Gerrard.

I thought he was painfully anonymous. He didn't move outside of a 10 yard radius of Gerrard. Our game plan was 1) Centre halves recover the ball 2) Give it to Henderson 3) Give it to Gerrard 4) Long ball.

It really didn't work.

At the end of the day, we are still unbeaten and have no injuries like Germany and France..

Well Oxlade chamberlain is injured, and for me he is possibly one of our best players. Just hope he can play sone part

Worst results in our history?

Get in the bin.

It was so shit, I went bed early, and after waking up this morning, I'm glad I didn't miss much.

That was our full strength team, and we couldn't even score past Honduras.

Why are people still surprised when England play poorly?  We have an average team so struggling to win against teams like Honduras shouldn't come as any surprise.  Technically we're light years behind other nations, tactically we're predictible, it's been that this for 20 years.

Having said that (sits on fence) there's no reason we can't progress, plenty of average teams have somehow crawled their way out of the group stages, I for one would see that as an achievement.

I take it you will be supporting America?

lol average! so getting to the quarters which equals top eight in the world every major is average! we are far better than shite like Honduras, so it is a surprise just has Italy drawing to Luxembourg was

They have a tough group but it is possible to get 2nd with teh right results. Would like to see USA do well

Very tough, but the USA show you can play good football and get good results without superstar players.  We (England ;) ) could do the same we just need to adjust the way we play both technically and tactically.

Agree but not sure we will ever be able to do this without a world class team. England always seems nervous probably due to all the pressure

How far back are you going?  I'm not just talking about 1 performance here.  If we had a great record in recent championships I would call the last couple of games a blip.

Well do you want me to go through the last several majors, because that is pointless... we have made the quarters of all but one since 2002... so calculate that into your average lol

Average is like rep of Ireland, Russia, Sweden lol we are better than that, and results tell you so... We are just unable to break into that elite, like Brazil Argentina, Germany, Italy, Spain... but that doesn't make us average lol unless you think every team bar the ones mentioned are average

Why can't anyone see that more than anything the players just wanted to get through the game injury free, that 100% had a bearing on our performance.

If we wanted to get through that game injury free then we quite clearly picked the wrong opponents. We got bloody lucky to have no injuries last night.

If Sturridge brings his shooting boots we win that game 3-0.

I think one of Barkley, Ox or Sterling should start against Italy but realistically I think it will be the same as last night. Rooney is walking a bloody fine line at the moment.

I seriously hope it's one of those situations where it's got to the point everyone's losing faith in Rooney, he starts against Italy and then turns in his best display in years. Who knows?

I don't understand why we were even in Miami, this time of year usually brings terrible weather, interrupted the game and training! terrible organisation in my view, and yes playing a team that saw this has their World Cup final rather than a warm up was also a bad choice...

This pain and boredom will end soon, when we bring in the B teams we'll sweep aside the rest of the world so just keep strong until then, everyone.

The storm played a part in it, a 40-minute break after playing for 20 will affect rhythm, the Hondurans were nasty so I'm sure our players were wary of getting heavily involved. Sturridge missed a couple of great chances and we played some good stuff when Barkley came on.

I don't see it changing any time soon either, though. We can get rid of Roy but what are the alternatives? We don't want another foreign manager, so we are left with Pardew, Allardyce, Bruce and Redknapp who is two years older and his stock isn't anywhere near as high as when Capello left. Then you've got Garry Monk, Pearson and Dyche from next year's Premier League managers, two of which haven't managed in the top division.

Hardly an inspiring list really.

England = Boring

I feel like a disabled responding to this.

It was a friendly, days before the World Cup. Some of the tackles flying in by them were ridiculous. As if England were going at it full pace like they would in an actual competitive game.

Think about it for once you div.
