Trumpet Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Not too sure how to go about this, but basically 3 of my Kasabian tickets have been sent to my ex-partners house. They shouldn't have been delivered there in the first place as they were down to be delivered to my new address and this was confirmed last week when we started to worry as to where they would end up. Anyway, called my ex on Tuesday evening to see if the tickets or any mail had arrived. She said nothing had arrived. Fast forward to today and the royal mail tracker has confirmed delivery with a signature (which isn't hers - but at the same time it looks as though it was signed by a 2 year old). The delivery was made at 9:45am Tuesday. Any idea as to what I can do?
David Guiza Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Just a guess here, but I'd imagine each of the tickets has a roll number on. I'd contact the ticket provider and state the issue to them, see if they have any solution. As you would obviously be able to prove you purchased the tickets with the purchase card matching your identification. It can't be the first time something like that has happened. From what I remember from my degree, the law is very complicated on postal rules if it had to go that far.
goose2010 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 If they were signed for it should give you a Surname as well. As you sign and print your name. I would go back to who ever you got them off and get them to explain why they sent them to the wrong address. Do you have that in writing you changed the address? They should be able to get you some new ones sent out in time / give you a code to print your self.
Larry_LCFC Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Have you got prove that they have actually gone to your old address? Im not sure whoever has them would be charged by the police until a reasonable time has passed (usually upto 28 days) because they can claim they were going to find "the owner" and give them to them. I would however be contacting the ticket company and asking what the hell is going on. Surely they can just cancel the old ones and reissue?
Trumpet Posted 19 June 2014 Author Posted 19 June 2014 My dad has been sorting it as they are his tickets (in my name). It seems getting in shouldn't be an issue and the ticket issuers have been reasonable. Would just hate to think she has sold them on or will be using them herself.
Trumpet Posted 19 June 2014 Author Posted 19 June 2014 It's strange because I ordered 2 tickets for me and said ex. Then a few days later managed to get 3 more for family members. But the 3 extra ones that I purchased were from De Montfort Hall's site and I purchased them with my Dad's card and address details. Fast forward a few months and me and the partner split, so I changed the address for my 2 tickets. De Monfort Hall sent me an email last week saying the 3 tickets would be dispatched soon, which seemed weird as I had used my Dad's email address. When my Dad called De Mont, they said they had received a change of address which would see my tickets delivered to my current address. It's been a bit of a cock up.

You're lucky if you can make a signature look like a signature of any kind, never mind your own signature. No idea how Royal Mail can use them as Proof of Delivery... it really isn't. Hope you get in okay Trumpy!
BoneDog Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Would she have been at home watching Jezza at 9.45am or would she have been at work? Sounds to me like she made a signature up to try and get some free merchandise. Scheming bitch. Or the postie sensed a good haul and made up a signature himself. Thieving bastard gyppo. It's a tough one.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I have had this happen a couple of times. Once on a registered package, and did get my money back. The second time was a tracked item that was signed by someone else (kiddies squiggle like yours). I did not get compensated. The worrying thing is, that I have had items I should sign for just popped through the letter box, and other peoples too, which I made sure got to the right person. A couple of neighbours have done the same for me. The postal service seems to be very careless, and disinterested.
Rincewind Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I had something go missing once but all they said is it does not matter who the signiture is just as long as it is delivered. What confused me is why somebody would want it as it was a copy of my book which I sent to myself as proof of having been the author. Unless a person knew what was in it and wanted to nick it it would be of no value. Must have been dumped because nobody has become famous because of it. Not even me.
Houdini Logic Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Any idea as to what I can do? Go and see a decent band instead
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Bloody hell. It's just happened to my wife. £57 worth of wall plate! She just rang me, and guess what? An unreadable squiggle.
Saxondale Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 By far the worst delivery service is Hermes, who use local idiots in cars to do the actual deliveries to homes. The idea is semi-OK but, unfortunately, they only employ morons of the absolute highest order. My misses got a card from one for a missed delivery, with a mobile number to ring. She rang it, only for the guy to deny having posted the card. So how did she get the number then?! Mind you, this was in Grantham, where 99% of people are clinically daft anyway.
separator Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I bought £300 worth of surround sound system a few years ago from Amazon, it got delivered by a firm called Yodel who left it in the rain on top of my wheelie bin. I got home in the evening and it luckily hadn't been nicked, the box was soaked but the insides amazingly were bone dry. I couldn't believe it. Apparently some of these delivery firms only pay the drivers per item delivered, so anything that has to be returned to the depot means loss of earnings (I'm not sure how true that is but sounds plausible). There's plenty of videos on YouTube of Yodel drivers just slinging parcels over the fence if no-one is home, easy to forge a squiggle on those PDA things they use. To be fair though I've never had any problems with RM / Parcel Force.

marko Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Yodel have been voted worst parcel delivery service for a couple of years running. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/shopping/2014/01/yodel-named-worst-parcel-delivery-service-again
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Hermes and UPS are the kings among men of the delivery game
Strokes Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I've had countless issues with yodel. They are so crap.
Rincewind Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Someone has a couple of spare tickets in another thread. I don't need any I will be ablw to hear them from my house or I can walk up to the Old Horse.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 Yes, I have had issues with Yodel. They left a card saying a package containing a bedspread had been left behind our wheely bins. It had been pouring with rain, and I couldn't find the package behind the bins. I rang the number on the card, and got them to check with the driver. In the mean time a neighbour from two doors away found the package, drenched, behind her bins the following day.

separator Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 A typical Yodel delivery, I would seriously avoid any online retailer who use these cowboys.
Fatbloke Posted 22 June 2014 Posted 22 June 2014 Don`t even get me started on Yodel bar stewards, until recently I worked for them as a courier, used to be DHL but they sold the domestic delivery arm to HDNL who merged it all into Yodel, they loose contract after contract and are totally shite in every way, the problem is that they slowly got rid of the employed, experienced and conciencious couriers and replaced them with self employed white van men, they lost 2 parcels of mine while I still worked there !! they then sacked me for giving my daughter a 200 yard lift in the van to my actual depot where she was going for an interview !! any excuse to get rid of another employee for nothing, I`m still seething about it, as people have said on here avoid any company that use these dick heads as their delivery agents.

Bloody hell that's harsh. Hopefully you've found another job with a better employer.
