CosbehFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Diaz at Chile looks classy and I thought Matt Leckie has looked dangerous for Australia everytime he gets running We've been keeping tabs on Leckie.
CosbehFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Agree with Matt Leckie from the Aussies, Vasquez looks quality for Mexico too though I'm sure bigger clubs want him. Some of Chile's players make ours look even worse, is Bielsa the manager for them? Always rated him as a gaffer. It's one of Bielsa's former understudies. Bielsa joins Marseille this summer.
martyn Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Enner Valencia (Ecuador) Jefferson Montero (Ecuador) Oribe Peralta (Mexico) Miguel Layun (Mexico) Joel Campbell (Costa Rica) Peralta has literally just moved from Santos to America in the Mexican League for a domestic record transfer fee. I'd take Layun in a heartbeat though, and Hector Moreno... Agree with Eugenio Mena as well, has looked great and would fit one of our greatest needs....Him or Layun look very similar players...
AKCJ Posted 23 June 2014 Author Posted 23 June 2014 Gary Medel would slot into our midfield nicely I think. But I reckon he'll be off to Spain.
Haydos Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Leckie. He was a ripper on Fifa when we were playing some games pre world cup then I saw him looking very fast and dangerous playing for Aus. As others have said though, can be a bit dodgy signing based on the WC but I'm sure they'll cover all the angles.
AKCJ Posted 23 June 2014 Author Posted 23 June 2014 We've been keeping tabs on Leckie. He's just signed for someone hasn't he?
MC Prussian Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Antoine Griezmann - perfect for that left-wing role. I also wouldn't mind Maynor Figueroa here - he's been one of the few classy Honduras players at this year's WC. @Cardiff_Fox, Haydos & AKCJ: Leckie's signed for FC Ingolstadt recently.
Richard Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 He's just signed for someone hasn't he?2nd division German team I believe
CosbehFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 He's just signed for someone hasn't he? Yes signed for Ingolstadt. He was considered at the same time as Mahrez. Some of the 'serious' suggestions on here really under-estimated how much money is paid to players in Mexico and other nations. Aurier is near on off Arsenal for example too.
busseltonfox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Yes please.....get Leckie...it means City will be the main feature on Australian sports news just Like Everton were when Cahill played for them.
Munshi Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Griezman? He's off to a big team, looks a very classy player. Some of the suggestions are a bit over the top
Gary Eatfood Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Dejagah - might not be what we're looking for but I thought he was excellent against Argentina.
Fox42 Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Also was impressed with E. Valencia as well as Joel Campbell. Mena just signed a contract with Santos pre WC so won't be happening
Dan Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Antoine Griezmann maybe if Man City's owners buy us out in the next week.
Narborough_fox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Kyle Beckerman has been very good every time I've watched him so far in the tournament. 32 now which would be a huge risk, but a very solid CDM alongside Jones for America. Fabian Johnson has been good for America too, never stops running. Enner Valencia has been pretty good for Ecaudor and it'll be interesting to see how he does against France in the next game.

Some of the suggestions are a bit over the top Antoine Griezmann maybe if Man City's owners buy us out in the next week. We haven't established WHEN those names could potentially sign for us. But I concur - for now and facing the upcoming season, Griezmann is too pricey & not in our league. Maybe if/once we've maintained ourselves at the top level for another season.
CosbehFox Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Enner Valencia only joined his current side in January.
ballisimo Posted 23 June 2014 Posted 23 June 2014 Hector Moreno for Mexico Enner Valencia Ochoa the Mexican keeper who is without a club Serge Aurier Christian Gamboa from Costa Rica. Jorge Valdivida from chile

Johnson just signed for Borussia Monchengladbach on a free. Jones is still available on a free.
Stadt Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Isn't Jones supposed to be a massive dickhead though? I doubt Pearson will be keen.
placidcasual Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Isn't Jones supposed to be a massive dickhead though? I doubt Pearson will be keen. Complete headcase yep. Was just pointing out he was on a free but rumour has it he will be playing in MLS so....
