Where was the France I've seen in the past few games, where was the attacking intent and the slick passing from the middle of the park? Germany fluking through. Might as well win the World Cup now - it's been only 24 years. However, what are the odds of Germany losing out against Brazil, meeting the Netherlands in the game for 3rd spot and Brazil play on to meet arch-rival Argentina in the final? It's all already decided, folks!

What on earth were they doing taking Valbuena off for that pile of shit? I have to say, for all the lauding of this world cup it's only the latter stages that really matter when it comes to judging a world cup. That is when the classic stuff we remember comes about. And that was another drab game that petered out to nothing. If the quarter finals, semi and final are like that the amount of goals scored in the group stage will count for nothing when we look back on this tournament. With England out, It needs a real classic to make it memorable. I do hate watching Germany. Once they have a grip on a match they never look like losing it and it makes for very poor viewing.

It's all already decided, folks! I hope so because before it started I had money on Argentina to beat Brazil (16/1) in the final, and on Brazil to beat Argentina (12/1) in the final. COME ON.

Effective rather than anything pretty.
