Tommy G Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 We are considering within the next 6-9 months to convert our main bathroom into a wetroom There are only 2 of us, we dont have a family. Just wondering if anyone on here has a wetroom at home, or converted their main bathroom into one? We are looking to put a double shower against the back wall where the window is, then just a sink and toilet with some built in storage. Not sure on the cost yet. Also is anyone on here a plumber or knows of a good one Cheers
Out Foxed Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I have a wetroom. Love it. Didn't convert though as the house was built from scratch. Sink, toilet, small window. It's between two bedrooms and has two doors. You can get slight leakage when left on too long, but that's rare and really down to the sealant on the door and possible a slightly steeper gradient needed.

Great stuff, any idea on price, guess that will depend massively on dimensions? Did you have underfloor heating put in, considering it but if massively expensive I wont bother. Just thinking if I am having it done I may aswell..if not a heated towel rail will do.
Finnegan Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I ****ing hate wet rooms. Great until something goes wrong, then something goes wrong. I don't get why a young, healthy couple would want to bother?

Tommy G Posted 10 July 2014 Author Posted 10 July 2014 its not really a question of health - its more a question of the open space and the fact they add a better value to your house compared with ordinary bathroom. And done properly can look very nice. Personal choice of course

sphericalfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Have you got Cliff Richard stopping over? EDIT - I now realise that this joke is sooo obscure it's only going to be taken the wrong way. Apologies.
Brenfox Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I'm not a plumber but your looking at upwards of £4k easily & that would be for a tiny bathroom.
Soup Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 I'm not a plumber mate but i'm in construction and see them quite a bit nowadays.A few people talk about leaks but that will be down to who fits it,and believe me the difference in plumbers quality is massive.Personally they look to much like hotel bathrooms to me and considering the vast choice of shower screens and trays I'd always go traditional. It won't won't make a difference to your house value if you use good quality tiles and fittings, and good quality taps always make a bathroom look top end.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 taken the wrong way. Just gets dirtier
Mike Oxlong Posted 10 July 2014 Posted 10 July 2014 Why not get a Wes room instead. Wall to wall Wes. Ceiling too. Pure filth!
