Euro 2016 Qualifying

Solid point for Wales that, and the kind of game they might have lost even a year or two ago.

Qualification will come down to their record against Bosnia and Israel so that's a decent start.

Think 3 points against Cyprus on Monday are really important though.

Cheillini had quite the eventful game tonight. Put Italy ahead before he equalised for Azerbaijan, and then bagged the winner at the end for Italy to win 2-1 lol

Traditional italy. Doing just enough and no more.

Which basically backs my point up, conceeding 4 a game is shocking so why not try to score a bloody goal!!

Because they'll probably fail.

If San Marino attacked they would probably lose every game 8/9/10-0. If they attacked someone like Germany, maybe even 15.

I dont understand the arrogance and people hating on San Marino. Theyve got day jobs, theyve got nowhere to train properly, no chance of preparing for a game properly, i highly doubt the San Marinese FA have the infastructure to improve their national team.

They do their best to be competitive as they can be. They enter the pitch as equals, and they try their best. They might end up with 0 points, but they rub shoulders with the best players in Europe in the best stadiums in Europe. Let them have their moment.

I was originally referring to the England match, we are clearly no Germany. Not sure people are getting my point so il shut up lol

But barring a miracle, they won't score. Even if they attack, they haven't got the physical capacity or fitness to actually put together a meaningful attack.

Being beaten as they are is probably the best they can hope for.

If they had come at England, we would've probably bagged 10 goals.

I don't suppose that comment about San Marino was aimed at me was it donut? I have no problem with them. They must quite enjoy it actually. Imagine having a day job and getting to play in games and at grounds like they do.

being a san marino defender must be great. i used to love playing for shit teams in defence and just booting people and the ball and not really giving a shit if we conceded because we were meant to lose 5+ every game. just constantly slide tackling people like rooney at wembley once a month would be amazing.

No, not aimed at you at all Dan

It was aimed at those who, on here, and on the radio, had been suggesting San Marino didnt deserve to share a pitch with England, that they should attack and risk making themselves look silly.

It just really frustrates me that the people i listen to are so elitist. Some of those San Marinese players probably take huge pride in pulling on a national shirt. We arent laughing at Harry Panayiotu, but what would happen if St Kitts & Nevis had to play England, Spain, France, Germany?  hes delighted to pull the shirt on and they would have to do the same.

Moosbreath's comments for one, for example pissed me off no end. Constantly being sarcastic about San Marino. Just be professional and get on with it. Its an attitude thing.

Not aimed at you at all Dan, not one bit. Great double bet win by the way.

ITV are worse for it than anyone although I think ITV have become that bad that they don't even try anymore.

Thanks mate. About time a handicap came in. Felt a bit dodgy about Belgium but knew it would be in when they bagged three goals in about six minutes. Not sure if to have anyone else tomorrow. Quite fancy Romania though I'm aware Hungary is a derby for them.

It was a case of a goal or two opening the floodgates for Belgium, it was a very nice win in the end.

Im not sure about the value around tomorrow. Scotland (4/6) might be a good value single vs Georgia. Theyll be well organised and tricky opponents, but Scotland seem to have something about them now under Strachan and with the Germany trip out of the way, im sure theyll still fancy themselves to qualify for the Euro's.

I did have 1/3 on Gibraltar not scoring in their qualifier with Poland, but having checked in their game with the republic of ireland, both teams not to score is 1/8 so unfortunately, i think finding value like that wont happen again.

I may be tempted by Scotland

Yeah I thought the same and I thought Belgium would have more about them than say... England, going forward. Am I the only one who thinks Liverpool have made a mistake loaning out Origi and buying Balotelli?

The one lesson I'm learning this year with internationals is to be very cautious about backing away teams. There seems to be a fair few shocks when a bigger side goes away to a smaller.

I was actually close to having Italy to win by a goal tonight. They always seem to win these games narrowly.

I fancy Scotland as well, actually. I'm with you there.

Armenia 19/5 at home to Serbia. Armenia aren't actually that bad. I could see them sneaking a 2-1 there.

Bale was good but Hennessey was MOTM by a street.

Good game.

I so wanted the Welsh to win.

For me, the big difference between us yesterday was they had a tidy midfield out.

I believe Allen and Ramsey would have made a big difference, we lacked any ability to retain possession and control the game and that's what they do so well for us.

Andy King and Joe Ledley vs Pjanic and Besic? Cmon.

King was very disappointing. He's had a good start for Leicester but was a parody of himself and his disappearing act last night. It's no wonder he's not popular with Wales fans.

Genuinely didn't notice that King was playing last night and I watched 2/3 of the game.

This group looks like it could be as tight as anything. Belgium should walk it and then it could be any of the three out of Bosnia, Wales and Israel in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. It's being widely thought of among the gambling community that the Israelis have a far better side than they are being given credit for.

Still think Wales have it all to do watching them though, despite being 3 ahead it's hard to see them finishing above Bosnia, if it wasn't for their cock up at home to Cyprus it would be considered a pretty bad start for the Welsh.

Posted

It's a really interesting group actually.

Disappointed for King. He looks well on course to break the record for caps whilst at Leicester but not if that's to go by.

Are Cyprus out of it yet?

Any one of those four could take 2nd IMO.

Scotland & Romania kick off their games. Two home wins please. Romania had Nicolae Dorin Goian subbed after 5 minutes, hmmm...

I'm watching Ireland vs Gibraltar and I think it's fair to say the away side could concede more than San Marino this qualifying.

sure i just read robbie keane is now the all time leading scorer in euro championship qualifying? good effort if that's right.

Kasper has conceded, Denmark trailing 1-0 to Albania at half time.

Good finish to be fair, not the cleanest strike but from outside the area and it was planted right in the corner low to Schmeichels left.
